I had a funeral yesterday where I'd seen many people I haven't seen in many many years. One said, "Let's keep in touch. We can go to dinner or workout because obviously you go to the gym."36

I just got back from a cruise and I wore a bikini 99% of the time. #WLSJourney31

You're a goddess. Well done!7 -
My second son (6) asked to run the indoor track with me this morning—I followed his lead and we ran/walked a mile in 9:52! Little dude puts on some spurts of speed—my garmin said we hit 10.7mph a few times!
Yesterday my oldest (8, not the natural athlete my second is) said he can’t wait until he’s old enough to come work out with me at the gym.
Thrilled my active habits are making an impression. Also excited my attempts to make healthy food choices the norm are working too—my 6 yo told me not to give the two big boys any treats that day bc they’ve already had a piece of candy at their last day of class party. Same guy who refused a roll with dinner and told a friend the little snack bag of Doritos was too much for him, brother to the dude (8) who says no thanks to cake and goes for strawberries, and the one (2) who gnaws a piece of steamed broccoli as big as his fiat with evident relish, and the one (4)who gets crazy excited for a big dish of fruit, thanking me like I’ve given him his heart’s desire. Who are these children??? I can’t imagine any of these things coming out of (or going into) my mouth as a child!40 -
The other day I said to my daughter " oh my god, feel this!!!" and put her hand on my collar bone, she was confused and couldn't figure out what she was feeling for.... but as I explained, I haven't been able to feel these things in years!! LOL
Also, I am wearing a size 6 jeans for the first time in 20 years!

I've had 4 different people (2 at the gym, 2 at work) say something nice about my weight loss in the past week. I'm about halfway to my first major goal, so it's been a real ego booster and provides just a little extra fuel to keep going.30

I hadn't even thought of the NSVs associated with our families! Thanks for showing me that I need to think outside of myself a little bit . . .
So on that note, my six-year-old son has been joining me for my workouts in my home gym in the basement. He has his own little sets of dumbells, and we like to workout to Jessica Smith's You Tube videos (we like that her dog Peanut makes cameo appearances, haha). I love that my boy sees that exercise is part of our lives, and that he wants to participate!18 -
I gave away all my fat pants50

Thanks to all the good food and water and exercise, my skin is glowing. It looks and feels amazing!

Had to squeeze by some people and a wheelchair to exit an elevator today. A random woman said I was only able to squeeze by b/c I'm "slender and slim" - ha! I don't think I am, even though I've lost weight, but that made me smile.31

Great job guys!
During yesterday's weight training session I felt myself getting stronger. I had an easier time doing the moves and could complete 3 rounds of moves versus 2. Further, I woke u this morning and have lost an inch around my tummy. Seeing these small changes is enough to kee me motivated, thats for sure!20 -
Last night I successfully did 5 reps at 215lbs for my deadlifts... not that long ago, my 1RM was 220. I know it's not much, but I'm pleased with this. Can't wait til my 1RM is 300!17

Yesterday I was feeling a bit down about not feeling any progress in my weight loss, and I indulged in a burger in fries for lunch. I logged everything as best as I could and when it came time for dinner (I had ordered two meals from the earlier takeaway), I took one bite of the meal and hated it. Instead of bearing through it, I tossed the meal and made avocado and toast instead. My NSV is that despite how I felt, I still worked out and managed to come in under my calorie goal for the day. I am learning that this process is going to take time and I just need to see each day through. Also, this NSV Thread is amazing I am on page 282, and working my every day to 1109 (not sure what the number will be when I finish).39

My energy is finally increasing 6 weeks after surgery. I walked at lunch two days in a row, instead of taking a nap.27

My moobs and gut hand pretty frikken low when I do that at home, shirtless. Don't worry, I don't do yoga at the gym and certainly wouldn't do it shirtless, but yeah, yay(kinda)???17 -
I got my first "You're too skinny, you should stop losing weight" comment from a family member.
I know for a lot of you that's a pet peeve, not an NSV. But growing up all I heard was "You could stand to lose some kilos", "You're really chubby for a young person" and "Are you really gonna eat that?". A boyfriend even said: "You know what my first thought was when I met you? That you would be gorgeous if you lost some weight". Ugh. He was gone pretty quick, but what he said stuck with me. And it made me very self-conscious, like, is this what everyone thinks the first time they meet me?
So having someone say: "You're thin enough" was a pipe dream. Now a reality. Pretty sweet.
(I should clarify that those hurtful comments did not lead me into any kind of eating disorder. I lost weight in a really healthy way. I married a man that loved me chubby as I was and walked with me through my highest and now my lowest weight ever. He's never made a negative comment about my size, which is one of the reasons I love him so much. I am also not "too skinny" as my relative claimed, my BMI is 22ish so not even close to being too low).37 -
Someone noticed I lost weight! A colleague who I used to see every day but now only see every 3 weeks or so asked/said “but you work out a lot now, don’t you? It looks like you’ve dropped a few kilos”. I’m really happy that he mentioned it, and even more that it came really naturally from the conversation (we’d gotten on the topic of workouts) and didn’t at all feel weird or inappropriate for him to comment.
For reference I’m currently down to 112 kg from 132 in November 2017, 176 cm tall.24 -
Someone brought four boxes of leftover cheese pizza into the teacher's lounge. I looked at it - thought how the old fat me would have grabbed a slice - a walked away.20

Grabbed a slice!! The old me would have eaten almost a pizza to myself.
I also work at a place that always has snacks or junk brought in. I have been able to keep from eating any because it does not fit into my eating plan for the day. It gets tough sometimes but it is also eye opening to me realizing how much more i did eat with just the food brought into work.19
