I'm so glad surgery went well. I was wondering if you found a ride. Stick with it, and us, and you'll make it!0

Glad to hear it all went well and you are back home. Take good care of yourself. We are all pulling for you.0

There are lots of folks on your side here, BJ. Take good care of yourself. One day at a time. Just keep working at it. We're all rooting for you!!3

@bjcrewe, so how are you feeling?0

MFP does over estimate in my opinon. 2500 should be plenty, I think. And at your weight you will probably lose really fast. If you can, try adding a little exercise, even if it's seated! If standing is an issue even stretching for a half hr while you watch tv or toe touches, etc can be better than not moving at all.0 -
How's it going?1

@bjcrewe, where are you?!0

@bjcrewe I am in the same boat , I weigh 448 and that is from 477 when I started on MFP , 78 days ago , I need to lose at lease 200 pounds , i am feeling better about standing , just a short time ago (christmas 2017) I couldn't cook the big diner I usually do because I couldn't stand to cook it , kids and hubby cleaned up afterwards , but I had to sit down to cook . now I could cook that diner , but now I won't eat that many carbs LOL I hope in a year I can lose at lease 100 pounds .
IT took me 10 years to get this big , so it's going take time to lose it .
as far as doctors go OMG i know hun , i know . my doctors are crap , they say lose weight ....then walk out of the room LOL
like well duh ..... my insurance will not pay for any barbaric care at all , so no help there , So I am doing this all by myself . sure my doctor says well good job cause my blood sugars are down , but no hey let me help .
I a doing low carb , Please add me if you want , we can lose together !!!!33 -
Thanks for all the hugs I need them !10

Just keep coming back. I am up against it myself. This time around it is do or die for me. I can't afford to lose and gain more back like I have foolishly done so many times before. I think I am going to win this round and I hope you can win with me.8 -

Glad to see you back. You were missed!

Do you have a YMCA near you that has a gym, pool and/or exercise classes? Y's typically offer substantial subsidies for membership and activities based on an individual's/family's income. Subsidies are easy to apply for and are confidential.

Hello everyone, I am here at times then gone for times. I am restarting my weight loss journey. My starting weight is 315 lbs. I want to get down to 140ish. bjcrewe, I know I don't know you, but you have to remember that it didn't go on over night and it will not come off over night. It's human nature to get frustrated and want to quit. I have been there. I am hoping that being here, and opening myself up like this, to get the support and motivation to continue moving in the right direction. A little bit beats nothing a day. What I have found that worked for me, was when I was about ready to quit, I remembered how hard I worked to get where I was at the time. If you keep at it, ( which I hope you do), you will start craving healthier stuff, and you will start feeling better. Good luck to everyone.

The Y is a good choice if you want to swim, which may be good for you. But it's summer and getting out to walk would do wonders for you. That plus some bodyweight exercises could do until fall when it starts getting too cold or rainy. I didn't join the Y until I couldn't run outside (too much smoke from local and not local fires) and am thinking of putting it on pause for the summer.1 -

I know how you feel I had to kick myself in the rear today to get a workout in. I got in 2 -20 min workouts for the first time in over a year. it was worth it for me. I was in a slump.if I can dig myself out of the slump so can you.2 -

Have you set mini-goals for yourself, @bjcrewe? I find that helps me quite a bit.
My mini-goals for today are:
Log all my food, no matter what.
Do my hip stretches.
Go for a walk on my work breaks.

We all need a swift kick sometimes! Here's some advice that I used to ignore (being an introvert), but try to find a group or another person to exercise with. Maybe join a Meetup walking group in your area. I found it easy to skip exercise when nobody was holding me accountable. Then I joined a women's fit camp group at my daughter's taekwondo studio, and working out with other people has made all the difference. The coach doesn't let us give up on ourselves. I hope you can find a walking buddy, it's definitely more fun when you have someone to chat with! Good luck.1 -

Do my hip stretches. - I did them twice. I'm supposed to do 4 per day.
Go for a walk on my work breaks. - Check
Maybe you should give it a shot, @bjcrewe.

Log all my food.
Get 12K steps.
Do my hip stretches.4 -
