How about this - "I am going to have a cheat meal" should really say "I am going to go over my macros today" that way it wont make you want to give up or cause yourself too much stress when you choose to treat yourself.3

Yes, yes for the first. I eat muffins I bake myself and can still lose weight - as long as I keep the overall calorie under 1200.1

When I was younger I honestly thought in order to lose weight one would have to starve themselves. It's because I didn't understand proper nutrition back then. Now I know you CAN eat, and you can eat a LOT- just make sure it's lots of the right stuff!1

One that I have learned:
You can't lose weight after X age. Yes you can, age is not a barrier to losing excess fat not getting healthier10 -
One thing I learned is... just because I have Calories left I don't have to eat them if I'm not hungry. I used to use them as an excuse to have a treat at the end of the night like Ice Cream or a few chocolates. Now if I'm not hungry I don't eat anything extra just because I have spare calories I only focus on if I'm truly hungry.11

I have received so much bad information over the years from personal trainers including:
-carbs are bad
-calories don’t matter
-over inflation of protein needs
-meat is necessary
-weight lifting burns a lot of calories
-you have to drink tons of water to lose weight
-starvation mode is a thing
I have learned that none of these things are true.7 -
