5/08 / 259.0 / Here we go! I was so down about my last round that I decided to see how much I'd stalled out in my weight loss over the entirety of this attempt (from Jan. 16th). I thought, surely, with the time I spent out of state, my mother's death, and this past round I must be at least 5 pounds behind my "two pounds a week" goal. Shocker. No. I am still ahead, having lost more than two pounds a week on average. I know weight loss starts with water weight but it helped put the wind back in my sails.

5/8: 252.4 I just started my weight loss journey and I usually weigh myself weekly, but I decided this would be a way to change things up and see how my body fluctuates daily. It's already been an eye-opener because I'm up 4 pounds in 2 days. I haven't done anything crazy to gain 4 pounds so I'm thinking it's water weight from eating too much sodium yesterday.

Some of us live in parts of the world that is coming into the warmer months and the warm weather could make your body retain water.

    https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/experts-body-wieght-ambient-temperature/

I always feel "fuller" during the summer months. Now that I'm older, I don't do well in excessive heat. I spend more time than I'd like under air conditioning. I'll probably see some stalls in weightloss over the next 5 months, but I will power through.

This morning when I stepped on the scale and it read 202, the first thing I wanted to do was update my MFP progress. I haven't updated since I weighed 205.4. My weight has been so up and down crazy with fluid retention that I have adopted the wait and see approach. After reading that article, I may be waiting quite a while to update my "official" weight.

I appreciate this, and when I visit Texas (for some reason, it is always August when I do this  ) I completely understand not wanting to be active outdoors. Since I don't live where humidity is a large factor, I find I lose weight every summer.

I’ve been off my diet and in vacation so it was a surprise to see a lower number than I expected this morning.

5/08 313.8 (-0.0) (My doctor is having me move to a low carb diet between 20 and 50 carbs. I've done it once before with success but then found my way back to white flour, sugar, and all of the other crap that seeps into my food choices. I'm looking forward to planning, focusing and dropping some weight. Would definitely appreciate any tips other low carb/keto folks have found useful.)
