Well I attempted to workout today after being sick since sunday and that didnt go very well. I started to do plyo and when i got to the last ten minutes I started having black spots in my vision so i had to quit and sit down. I guess whatever got me sick, really did a number on me and i still dont have my energy level back up.
I guess I will rest for the day and then attempt another workout tomorrow.0 -
Welcome Playthingmusic!!! That is awesome that you have already lost 21lbs! I wish I was a guy and could lose weight that much faster lol
Tena: I am so glad that you didnt get hit by the tornados! Your storm that went through yesterday is now hitting us....not as bad though.
Jen: I really hope you start feeling better! Arent we a great sick pair! We both better be feel good for Sat!
I just got done Ab Ripper 200 and Sweat 3-4. I have been battling a head cold since last week and working out today I think made it worse. Last night it started turning into a cold with the sore, itchy throat and cough.
Through out my workout today it was kinda hard to breath through my nose and mouth so I did have to take more sips of water and a little break but I pushed myself to do the whole video! I know I didnt have as much strenght as I usually do but thats ok.
I did feel very nauseous through it and now I think I feel worse all I want to do is sleep! Doesnt help that is pouring rain outside either.

New to the site...
just want to add in my stats:
I am 29- male and started at 245lbs
I am doing P90X, and loving it!
Dieted for 2 weeks then started the "lean" workout schedule, have been kickin *kitten* for 3 weeks now!
I lost 21 pounds and counting!
Did bi's and Back in the morning
just finished off the night with Cardio X, then Ab Ripper!
Just put your mind to it.... anything is possible!!!!!!
I'm doing the lean program, and have been "clean eating" for 3 weeks now. I'm on day 16 of P90X, and am very happy about it, too!!! I have CardioX tonight, and am not really looking forward to it-I also have 3 hours of volleyball today, and I probably won't be able to walk right for a little while. Best of luck, and I am very happy to have someone pretty close in age, doing the same workout!!!0 -
Hey Everyone! Just finished my workout! Tonight I did Chalean Extreme Abs and 1 on 1 Plyo Legs! They were both EXCELLENT workouts! My whole body is tingling now! I just got the new 1 on 1 workout in the mail and plan to watch it tonight and maybe do it tomorrow....
Well, time to hit the shower and then fix some dinner. Be back later.

Hey Everyone! I just reviewed my new monthly 1 on 1 workout from Tony! I felt like a kid at Christmas! It is UML (upper, middle lower). It looks AWESOME and I am going to do it tomorrow. He does 6 rounds and all rounds are 1 upper, 1 middle (abs) and 1 lower (legs) workout. There are some tough ones. He does 30 reps or more on all the exercises including different variations of pushups! Next months workout is called Bun Shaper and it looks AWESOME! I can't wait!!!
Jenn and Jen: I am so sorry you are both not feeling well but I am sure glad you listened to your bodies! Do not push the workout if you feel really bad! I did that one time when I was coming down with the flu and it was not pretty at all! I hope you are both feeling better tomorrow...

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Well I am feeling MUCH better today and full of energy!
I just finished Sculpt 3-4. I love that video if I could just take out those damn push ups it would be perfect! I really dont think that I do them properly but also doesnt help that I have no upper body strenght either!
Well today is the lowest weight I've been in almost 2yrs! Only 9 more pounds and Im back to my weight I was in June 07 and then it is all a new journey for me!
Thank you to everyone for taking this journey with me it is so much easier to do it with you guys then alone!
Tena: Well I can't say enough about you coach! You are just an amazing lady and such a huge inspiration to me!

Jenn - I am so proud of you and soon we will be showing off your hot looking bodies on the beach next year. I am sure the "guys" will be drooling at us and not all the other girls. Thanks for working out with me again today.
I did Kenpo X at lunch and man I am super happy that I really put all my effort and energy into it. i really find I still need to up that workout but I know I got my heartrate up there where it was supposed to be by doing double time and kicking and punching as hard as I could.
I hope everyone is having a great day, too bad it is rainy/dreary outside, I really want spring to get here so I can go out and start jogging again.0 -
I received my P90X yesterday.
Instead of being excited, I'm TOTALLY intimidated by the nutrition book!
So much so that instead of working out at the gym today I had lunch from one of the trucks out on the street (NYC).
Please virtually hold my hand and tell me it'll be ok. :frown:0 -

Paula: I knew that would happen! It happened to me! To be honest, I never went by the nutrition book. I just ate clean and healthy on my own. I only went by the routine of the workouts! Most people I talk to or have talked to, did not go by the nutrition guide. Put it down and just eat clean and do the workouts as scheduled. I hope that helps you!

I'm on day 17 of p90x, and I've been using this website to track what and how much I've been eating for 3 weeks. I've already lost 12 lbs, and I didn't use the nutritional guide that came with the program. I think that as long as you eat within reason, you'll still get some good results... No being a fast food junkie or eating cheez-its on the couch!!!:bigsmile:0

Hey Everyone! Tonight I did the new 1 on 1 UML. It was a good workout! The exercises make each body part burn and it hits about everything. My only complaint would be too much talking between exercises. But I just decided to do jumping jacks in between the exercises when Tony talks. Tomorrow is Kenpo+.

I was afraid to say I dont follow the nutrition guide at all, I just follow "Jen's eating plan" hehe I eat good things and then when my kids bug and bug, once a week we will have "junk food" like hotdogs and kraft dinner... but I put my limit to once a week. My kids love chicken nuggests so when they want those, I will have one or two or I will cook a chicken breast for dh and I instead.
TGIF!!!!!!! I am so happy it is the weekend. After all the rains we got with so many of us flooded out and now today it is snowing.. argh can I just leave now for the carribean???0 -
Good Morning Everyone! Did not sleep very well... Nerves I guess... I tossed and turned alot... April is doing good this morning. The bleeding stopped. She is still seeing the specialist, hopefully this morning. I will keep you updated.
Just to let you know, my daughter (27) has cervical cancer, early stages though. She had a biopsy Tuesday but started bleeding really bad yesterday afternoon which was NOT supposed to happen. Her dr sent her to the ER but she waited for 4 hrs with no dr looking at her and the bleeding stopped so she left. She is going to see her dr this morning to make sure all is ok. Depending on the results of the biopsy, she will either have surgery to remove part of her cervix or worst case scenerio, hysterectomy. This is not bothering her though because she does not want any more kids. She is Chandler and Ashley's mom. She wanted to get her tubes tied last year but no dr would do it because she is only 27. Now we just wait to see what the dr says...

WOW I just had my best workout of P90!!!
I am so glad Tena that you told me to do Ab Ripper 200 first. Today I did 190 out of the 200, I have NEVER done that many before! Today for some reason I did them with my shoes off so now no shoes!!
Don't worry I did put them on for Sweat 3-4. I pushed myself to the max today and so proud of myself! I am still having a problem doing all the jumping jacks and run lunges but Im ok with it! The best part of Sweat 3-4 to me is the cool down, I look forward to it everytime!!
Only 15 more days of P90 then not sure what other beachbody program after that.

I purchased the P90x and think it's gonna be too much for me. So next friday, I'm getting the Power 90. You guys have motivated me to do these videos, and I'm excited to "play". I might end up cancelling my gym membership = money in my pocket!0

You won't be disappointed... I hate paying for gym memberships, too!!! This program is nice because you don't need a bunch of equipment, and all you need is a little space to do the workouts! Best of luck, and your pic with the seal is insane!!! I live in Alaska now, and I want a copy to show my friends!!!0 -
djjustjohn: I wouldnt cancel your membership right away but like MissResa said you won't be disappointed! To tell you the truth you will probally end up cancelling it. I will NEVER own another gym membership again! I get a better workout from Beachbody workouts then the gym. For the money you spend on a membership in 1year you could have pretty much all the beachbody programs! And the best thing about working out at home you don't have to leave and you dont have to match your clothes lol
I am almost done P90 and I still don't think I am ready for P90X. They do have P90 Master Series which is the step up from P90 and a step down from P90X.
I am not too sure if I have enough room in my basement for P90 Master Series but Im going to try and hope I do to continue on!
If I don't have enough room for P90 Master Series I will decide between Beachbody Hip Hop Abs or Beachbody 10 Minute Trainer.

Hey Everyone! Well tonight I did P90X+ Kenpo Cardio! It was an AWESOME workout! I feel so good now! I wore my weighted gloves and burned alot of calories. Hubby is making some shrimp fried rice for dinner tonight! Yummy it smells soooo good.
dj: Not sure of your real name... I used to have a membership to the YMCA and quit it. I love working out at home cause there is no one watching or gawking at you... Plus the results with the X are amazing. If you are not used to exercising hard, P90X is not the place to start. Jenn is right that you need to start with P90... Since you have it, you can do it and just do your best and not get upset that you cannot do as much as the rest of them. Heck I was used to exercising when I started P90X and still could not keep up with them. You just get better each time you do it. Do you have a coach on beachbody. You can order through my profile, tenaarnett and get your P90 not only quicker, but I can track it for you... Let me know any way I can help you.

So Tena... Since you're a BB coach, I have a question for you... I was planning on switching from the P90X Lean program to the P90X Classic program once I hit my phase 2. Do you think it's okay just to switch directly to phase 2 of the Classic? I asked someone else, and just wanted to get your 2 cents on it.0

Good Morning Everyone! I slept really good last night! I planned on getting up around 6:30 but Mike said I was sleeping so good that he just let me sleep! I woke up at 7:30. So now I will eat my breakfast and put my make-up on and get dressed and head to Wally to get my grocery shopping done... I already made my grocery shopping list last night so I am ready...
Today I am doing JM Shredder 1-2-3 (all 3 segments) at 3pm CT.
Resa: To answer your question, it will not hurt you at all. I started my first Round with Lean Version and started the 2nd Round with Classic Version. I had HUGE changes with the Classic Version and wish I would have done it first. So go for it... It will not hurt you at all...

Thanks, Tena, for getting back to me. That's what the other person said, too; I just wasn't sure if I was supposed to start over to phase 1 of Classic, or if Phase 2 would be okay. I am so excited about making the switch!!! I know Plyo is hard, but I'm looking forward to doing it. The Lean program doesn't even incorperate it once!!! I play sports that I think would benefit from it. Also, before I got out of shape, I weight trained all the time. I'm looking forward to doing a more intense program-especially after seeing YOUR results!!!:happy:0

B R I N G I T !!!
Yup, started P90X today! At first I had a 30 minute hitch as even though I had bought bands rather than a pull up bar, I STILL had to rig something up in the basement. Grrrrrrr. After humming and hawing, and trying to get through to the phone no. to ***** at someone :grumble: I decided to put my head to the problem..... I had a big ole bike hook somewhere, I got out the power drill, started a hole in a rafter in the basement, put in the bike screw and voila had myself a system pretty much close to what the guy on the dvd has!
Did Back & shoulders followed by Abs.
Something tells me I'll be hurtin' tomorrow!!
Yeah! Am now sucking down 8oz of light cranberry with 2 scoops of soy protein powder.0 -
I've been using a bike hook, too, but I'm scared I'll pull the thing out of the stud and make my debut on America's Funniest Videos... I found that you can also put the bands around the top of a door , shut it, and it will make a more sturdy place to attach it to. Great job sticking with the workout, even though you hit some rough spots setting it up!!! A lot of people would have just gotten frustrated enough to just quit!!!:drinker:0

Power 90 is pretty much the beginner's series of programs made by Tony Horton... P90X is the popular, 2nd step up. There's new ones that just came out that are supposed to supplement the programs. They are basically like in-home boot camps. Totally kicks your butt every time!!!0
