Oh I am, and you can do it (depending on genetics)! Takes time, a lot of effort, then the shock of realizing that you can wear bralettes instead of bulky bras sets in! I went on a bit of a shopping spree because I can now wear the cute bras instead of my old industrial strength with 5 hooks in the back and straps made by Craftsman ugly bras. Oh yeah, they get cheaper as well... 4/$20 at Forever 21.
Lol. I call my bras industrial bras as well. Over the shoulder boulder holders! Yes, they are pricey and only come in three colors: black, white, and taupe. Not sure if genetics is on my side though. The women on both sides of my family are heavy chested no matter the age and size of the person. You must feel like a million bucks.
I do, thanks. Even if you don't get to bralette sizes, just take a look at the options for smaller bands. They are much cuter (and usually A LOT cheaper). I was elated the day I had a choice of an actual bra that wasn't black, white, or nude, let alone the bralettes. Cheaper bras that are nice looking is a great motivator!8 -
Walking across the grocery store parking lot to my car, carrying two 2.5 gallon jugs of distilled water, plus a reusable grocery bag of stuff and my megapurse, then a total stranger stops me and needs to tell me a joke (you've heard this one) about how elderly people should weight train by lifting 2 10-pound potato sacks, then go to 25 pound sacks, finally 100 pound sacks, and when that's going well, start adding potatoes.
So, I'm standing there smiling at him, holding 40 pounds of water and 10-15 pounds of other stuff, while he tells me this joke.
Joke? Not funny. Overall situation? Pretty hilarious, if you ask me.
NSV? 62-year-old woman carrying 50+ pounds of groceries, and able to wait there easily, not only take this calmly, but actually find it one of the funnier things that's happened to me lately.40 -
Actually getting back on track. I started this journey 3 years ago and had a great loss but put some weight back on over the last year. My nsv is that I’m back on track with exercising and eating healthily and I’m already feeling so much better. The fact that numbers are dropping is a bonus.23

Heart rate and blood pressure down significantly.17

Very exciting NSVs this morning. I just noticed my lower stomach pouch is reducing! The best part, today is the start of my TOM and usually I’m bloated but nope! I thought I would have to do some serious weight training to get rid of the pouch but it’s slowly coming off on its on with continuous caloric deficit and patience. One more benefit of the slow weight loss approach. They say abs are made in the kitchen, I get it now. Oh another NSV, my legs are finally looking like normal feminine legs. For years my legs looked like 2 gigantic turkey legs, I’m happy it’s looking smaller.24

And a buttondown shirt that's not coming untucked coz of my belly!
That's amazing! Congratulations!7 -
grumblefluff wrote: »The awesome red suede boots (with the biggest calf I could find) that I got for my birthday, the ones that wouldn't zip up past my ANKLE and made me cry...I just put them on and zipped them ALL THE WAY UP! They are still a little snug, but they went on! (and seriously, they make me feel like a a superhero) Those boots were my main motivation to start this, because I was so ashamed, and depressed that they were so awesome and so seemingly out of my reach...and they weren't, i just had to get off my butt and work towards them...and it really worked!
Good for you! I know exactly what you mean. My calves wouldn't let me wear the sexy boots, either. It was ankle boots or none at all. I so happy for you! That's an amazing feeling!6 -

It doesn't sound at all silly. I'm getting very close myself to being out of the obese category and, believe me, I'll be thrilled! Congrats on your success.17 -

When the class ended I genuinely sent my mother a text telling her to bury me where I fell and tell my cats I loved them

I did the same thing, @GOT_Obsessed and @kittybenn. It's an accomplishment! Well done!

Yes it was a small local race.
PB is PB!! 22:40
Great time! I can't seem to get under 30.10 -
I ran 10 miles yesterday! 2hrs 21 seconds
Longest run in my entire life!!
First time having to fuel during an activity. Used SIS gel and Lucozade sport raspberry. Wow that stuff is tasty.
But felt so amazing. I hurt less after than last week which was 8 miles and I actually can't wait for next week's 12 mile run to see what time I will get.
Seriously who is this person!?!?!32 -
I just ran a 28:30 5k personal best, man I remembered getting mad trying to figure out how to run faster than a 42 minute 5k a couple of months ago.27

Just got back from a cruise, and I did gain a little bit. But my husband and I vowed we would not step foot on the elevator on the ship and we stayed true to our vow. I regularly got 15K steps a day and went up and down at least 50-75 flights of stairs per day. So, I think the weight gain might've been way worse had we not stuck to our plan.42

After a year of walking/jogging on the treadmill at home, today I beat back 40 years of self-consciousness and jogged through my neighborhood! Huge NSV for me!52
