    true - it's added to thicken but also helps with the 'icy' factor - creates a more creamy, ice cream-like consistency.

    You can buy Hartleys Sugar Free jelly on Amazon UK. Different flavours. A whole sachet is about 35 calories. I've got loads of the stuff. They used to do in Tesco, too, not sure if they still do.

    I think I've seen people make fluff with plain whey, but imo, it's best with whey/casein.

    Also, not all protein powders work well with it. I tried PES in it and it didn't fluff well at all. And that's a whey/casein blend. I was bummed, because that's their Frosted Chocolate Cupcake is one of the best chocolate protein powders out there.

    Quest always does really well for protein fluff and protein ice cream.

    Caveat: I have celiac disease and my selection of protein powders is limited because of it. A lot of them are manufactured on shared equipment. I don't have experience with a lot of different brands.

    Recommendation: Go for the protein ice cream. It's much better than protein fluff. It's really a lot like soft serve.

    I love Enlightened ice cream recently, but I am going to start making the protein ice cream since it's cheaper per serving & I still have a lot of protein powder/casein powder to go through.

    I'm loving this thread! Over the winter my favourite food was a tray of roasted veggies (cauliflower, brocolli, peppers, carrots, asparagus, beets, brussel sprouts, etc). I would fill the tray with full intention of saving half to take for my lunch the next day. Uh, no. I'd eat it all. But now I have met like minded people on here and I don't feel so bad about doing it lol

    Riced cauliflower in the middle but the dusting is onion and garlic powder.

    If anyone is the in the market for a new blender:

    The nutribullet RX has been a godsend, it has "Souperblast Mode" which makes hot soup in seven minutes, my favorite so far is:
    Zucchini
    Onion
    Chicken Broth
    Seasoning

    Mix in 1 tablespoon of sour cream and blend for 30 more seconds

    Creamy soup at 68 calories a serving, I can eat the entire blender full for under 300 calories to go with my main meal if its not filling enough o:)

    I put a TON of onion powder on my salads and veggies, LOL. I find it really gives salads a great flavor and almost like a chip coating, (I mixed it up after this) when it mixes with and thickens the dressing. So good!

    here's now another q for you...what is the dressing you use/make?

    I do this too...usually add in smoked paprika - tumeric - black pepper- ginger powder - cumin and saurerkraut or Kimchi too...I'm obsessed with spices!

    For Tumeric specifically (or a blend that has it), what type of foods does it work with? I’m vegan and have tried it on veggies and thought it was terrible - I assume I used too much or had a bad combo. Thoughts?

    I am not a spice expert, but new new obsessions are Trade Joe’s, Everything but the Bagel, and my new love, vanilla bean powder. Yum.

    I think of curries when I think of turmeric. Google Aloo gobi.

    Turmeric is one of the spices that is best bloomed before adding to a recipe. Blooming turmeric takes a lot of the bitterness out of it. I use it in a lot of things, after blooming, pizza sauce, tofu scramble, chick pea salad and, of course, Indian food.

    PS, I’m vegan as well.

    ^I do the same...great in my scrambled 'eggs' (the tofu scramble you mentioned). I love it soups and curries - which I have very often. I've tried 'tumeric milk' - I like it (used almond milk w/vanilla stevia). I like it, but it's probably an acquired taste - very 'earthy'

    I don't like the taste, but fyi it's great for arthritis. I give the pill form to my dogs, the oldest stopped limping from arthritis & is doing well. I make paste & just eat it

    I know someone who does it with quinoa. She mixes tumeric, cumin and paprika into the water with the quinoa. Then add roasted garlic after. She ate the quinoa blend with a lot of different combos one of which was sautéed spinach, portabella mushroom, cherry tomato and cashews.

    Triple whammy for me. :* I also hate cumin and quinoa! But the spinach, mushroom and tomato part sounds delish.
