Unexpected results of weight loss

My motivation changed. I need help from MFP peeps.
I have lost 155 of the 175 I set as a goal. I wear size 16 or 18. I feel great; did a 5K this morning with a smile.
This week, I ate fine at breakfast and lunch. Yogurt n fruit snack. After a proper dinner every night, I ate some trail mix. Then 1/2 pear. Neither evening snack is on plan.
Is it possible that I am self-sabotaging? I get compliments on my achievement and how good I look. I have never been slender and I am not now. Could I be trying to prevent really looking okay?
I eat well and am not hungry. Health is perfect now: diabetes T2 resolved, blood pressure resolved, no meds now at all. The benefits of weight loss are clear and wonderful.
What can I do to stick to my goal and transition to maintenance?15 -

Time to do some self assessment. For right now....how about going in maintenance mode until YOU figure out what you want and quit focusing on feedback from others.12 -

This so resonates for me. I am now at a size where friends all say I'm looking good, I can buy dresses for the first time in years (my top was always 2 sizes bigger than bottom half = dresses impossible) I am quite fit for my age and lots of the weight related problems have gone. I am really struggling with a 'job done' feeling. However, I know that I have another 10 lbs before I enter the healthy weight BMI band. Having a healthy weight BMI has always been a problem for me - even in my slim youth when wearing a UK 10 (5'7/5'8) I only just scraped in. So now I keep finding myself thinking - oh well - I'm good enough. Instead I am determined to fight it and get closer to where I know I should be.10 -

I am 20 pounds from my weight goal as well but have maintained at the 195 +/- 5 pound mark for the past three years. All my health markers continue to improve which at my age is my main objective anyway. The last 20 pounds can stay or go as far as I am concerned right now.
You have been so successful I would not mentally be concerned about the last 20 pounds if it is not causing quality of life issues.
I am now able to do things I could not do 30 years ago like restoring this antique Ford 711 loader after driving 300 miles to pick it up on a cold day back in Feb. Going from needing the powered cart at Walmart to doing things like below and being in my first antique tractor show lets me know the last 20 pounds just is not that important to me at the age of 67.

I am 20 pounds from my weight goal as well but have maintained at the 195 +/- 5 pound mark for the past three years. All my health markers continue to improve which at my age is my main objective anyway. The last 20 pounds can stay or go as far as I am concerned right now.

Really the main one is the brain! I still have no idea how much space I take up and I always bring the wrong clothes into the dressing room. I still look at myself in the mirror knowing I've lost 115 pounds but I still see a 320 pound girl. Come on brain, you're killin me!

Of course I still hold up the pants starting at them like they are an alien species as my brain says that there's no way I can fit into them.4 -

Yes! When I pull my pants out of the dryer I look at them and worry they have shrunk. I have actually tried them on before putting them away to put my mind at ease.☺8 -

Unexpected, happy weight loss surprises:
-guys flirting with me/ noticing me
-I am now able to do a light jog on the treadmill for 10 minutes
-I can climb multiple flights of stairs no problem
-I'm wearing dresses! (never was a dress kind of girl until now)
-I love going to the gym and working out (words I never thought I'd say! lol)21 -

Finding out that some friends really cant handle your weight loss and how bitchy women can be. Just saw someone who I haven't seen since last October and after saying hello she commented " I see you kept your weight off this winter" I wanted to say actually I have lost 14 pound since then .Cant wait until my weight loss is my new normal weight so everyone does not need to comment on it.31

Just saw someone who I haven't seen since last October and after saying hello she commented " I see you kept your weight off this winter" I wanted to say actually I have lost 14 pound since then .Cant wait until my weight loss is my new normal weight so everyone does not need to comment on it.

It takes a while . . . every time I saw my mother (we're not local to each other) she'd go overboard with comments about my weight loss. It became really very embarrassing as I'm not the sort of person who likes/wants attention.
Bearing in mind I started losing weight almost three years ago, during my last visit she didn't say a word about it (thank goodness).
So, it really does take a while
BTW, I'm sorry that your "friend" was so spiteful. That was really nasty. Next time she's like that, blow her out of the water with a witty comeback. It bothers me, the way some people think that they have the right to comment on how you look.

I have really found 2 reactions from people that bother me one was like this woman who thinks I am losing weight just to look good, what they don't realize is it is only a benefit to getting healthy and a lot of hard work. The other is the person who only wants to comment on my weight no matter how often I see them. Part of the weight loss has been developing a thicker skin to unwanted comments and trying to have a quicker replies13 -
TMI:Taking a deuce is different. It seems more natural and less of a chore. Being more regular is something that I am certainly not used to! (Yes, I know it isn't weight loss exactly that is doing it, but the journey getting there is)6

The most unexpected (and probably TMI) result of weightloss for me has been how much more enjoyable and easier sex is. You don't realize how an extra 100 lbs affects you in that department until it is gone. Definitely will do everything in my power to keep it off.22

You know those metal turn styles you have to push to get through (leisure centres etc) well I can squeeze through the gap at the edge and not have to wait for someone to activate it for me. I'm not underweight by the way.11

My sports bras are easier to remove after a workout now. Not sure if it's that I am simply stronger (removing a sweaty sports bra should be counted as resistance training) or that I just don't have the fat rolls and back boobs holding the bra in place.40

I haven't had to take Claritin in nearly 2 months. Sleeping is better. Bending over for things is *much* easier. No more heartburn. And so much energy, I hardly know what to do with myself after 7pm! :-)24

I'm pretty old. I get more glances than I did when I was more round than not. I know that women are not always appreciative of attention. Men are not smart about that. We're really not. And younger specimens are really not smart about it. I'm not apologizing. Hopefully your new attention is respectful.13 -

I'm also getting more attention from men (more smiles, holding the door for me etc) which I couldn't understand because I only started a month ago and, although I have lost a few pounds, it's not obviously noticeable at all. Then I realised it's because I felt really good about the changes I was making, and I was smiling more myself, and making eye contact, instead of hurrying by with my head down hoping nobody noticed me!38
