Can we talk about what are you struggle with the most?

Hello everyone,
So I'm curious to know what is that one thing everyone struggling with the most on their daily? It can be fitness related, diet related, or just life.
For me, I noticed lately that I wanted to do so much but don't have a lot of time to do it all, example, I want to read more but I am slow reader, so I will listen to audio books instead.
What's your struggle and what's your fix? Lets share and learn/help each other out?

That's an easy one for me. I find sticking to healthy eating a lot easier than going to the gym. The gym intimidation is real. After years of putting it off, about two weeks ago I finally joined and it's just as bad as I thought it would be. This will be an ongoing struggle for me but it's just something I had to bite the bullet and do.16

That is a good one, and you're right, a lot of people starting off feeling intimidated and fearful to step into an environment they aren't used to, especially for the ladies.
I always tell those who started in the gym to just put on a temporary blind fold, headphones on and knowing you doing it for you, and you can't afford not to take care of yourself, if you have to get a trainer for a short while to teach you the basics and stick to the basics till you're comfortable with it.5 -
I used to struggle with this, but I got serious about my time management skills and focused on what is important. I limit 3-5 priorities at a time and dedicate time to these....and pretty much disregard lower priorities at that time.
Multitasking is a time management killer. You can't do it. You can only trick your brain into thinking you can do it and end up frustrated and doing a half *kitten* job on two or more tasks.
If you commit to a task...commit your whole *kitten*.
I struggle most with sticking to this. Very easy to stray to past habits and lose focus on what is important.8 -
I struggle with impatience. I have to remind myself that weight loss and physical fitness takes time and practice. I'm used to being able to fix things. I try to remind myself at the start of every day that I can see progress in the mirror. I'm down 29 pounds since January but probably have 40-50 more to go. I just say practice, practice, practice.15

Healthy eating and working out are my Huge struggles. I want to do better I just have a hard time always getting motivated to do it.4

I think we're our worse enemy at times, that's great progress and it takes time, you're right and at the end you win either way, stick to it and don't give up, it's all up hill from here on out, tough road to get to the top but reward is totally worth it.1 -

I recommend find a friend, family member to be on the journey with you, sometimes we can't motivate ourselves enough we have to ask for help, and keep each other motivated is easier than try to motivate ourselves1 -
I am a slug. I don't cook and hate to clean (but I like a clean house, so it doesn't get too bad). I get regular exercise and will be adding more walking to my daily routines with the park-far-away strategy and a few others, but at home, I have hours where I do nothing but read. I want to lose weight and change my lifestyle to include fixing healthy meals, but I Just. Hate. Cooking. Don't have a strategy yet to change that, but will be exploring what has worked for others.1

Living in a camper right now so can't cook healthy meals.. And motivation to keep walking everyday.. Anyone got good ideas for meals in the microwave?2

Time is always a factor. It seems like by the time I get home from work & have dinner I only have maybe 2hrs to do stuff outside before the sun goes down & the bugs chase me back inside...lol1

I don't know if there is a strategy other than "suck it up, buttercup". I'm with you--cooking is The. Worst. I cope by doing meal prep once a week. On Sundays I go to the grocery and come home and make every single home meal and snack I'll eat for the week. Then at least I don't have to think about it for another 7 days. If I don't do that, I just get takeout for the week.1 -

I love to cook, but now that it's summer it's too hot to have the oven or stove on so lately I've been making pasta (I prefer red lentil pasta or one made from a vegetable source), mix in either chicken or tuna and a bag of mixed frozen vegetables. Season as desired. I change the seasonings every week. Separate into containers and that's my lunch for the week, but you could do this for dinner as well. It can all be done in the microwave and very versatile.3 -

I read on treadmills or bicycle machines in the gym, I find that's actually a good time to read while listening to some soft music, so if you have access to that, it's great way to get your exercise in, burn some calories while get your reading done. As far as cooking, haha no fix on that, I like to cook so it's not a issue for me, I used to dislike cooking, mainly because I don't know how or what to cook, now I find cooking is actually fun and I simply follow recipes that I found on youtube or facebook.1 -
Time was a factor until I hit a certain age. I'm 56 now, kid is grown, partner is not demanding on my time, and I have enough for fitness, although not enough for my art work. What I struggle with the most is disciplined eating. I'm good for a string of days, then...2

It used to be working out was a struggle. I liked being lazy. And I would eat really healthy. But then it totally flipped and now I'm in love with working out and being active but shove junk in my mouth4

haha as long as you're happy and not getting over board, nothing wrong with few sweets and goodies in our tummy from time to time.

I believe disciplined eating is over rated! If you keep all things balanced, it should be ok.3 -
I struggle with eating with in my calories EVERY.DAMN. WEEKEND.
The alcohol and good food get me EVERY.TIME.5 -
I’m totally with you!! Weekend bevies are my nemusis, especially now that it is almost summer and sunshiny weekends are mini holidays! I’m getting close to goal weight so I will eat at deficit during the week and maintenance on weekends. Figure this will be a good way to ease into maintenance thinking and will still keep me accountable on the weekends but without such a battle.1

Depression, since I'm limited to naming one thing. Have tried getting medication, but my GP refuses to give me any. I'm sitting on a long-donkey waiting list for therapy that I don't want, but if I refuse it, I get denied all help.7

you can always go with weekly average instead of daily, which you can lower 4-5 days so on weekends you can enjoy more, as long as you are not gaining weight then you should be fine.3 -

That's a tough one, hope you get help you need soon, maybe find something that's enjoyable for you to focus on and do more of it?1 -

I’m getting close to goal weight so I will eat at deficit during the week and maintenance on weekends. Figure this will be a good way to ease into maintenance thinking and will still keep me accountable on the weekends but without such a battle.
One thing I do to prevent that is I buy a gallon of water jog and I will drink it through the day, and before I go out to eat sometimes which helps to keep me fuller than normal so I don't ended up over eat. haha little trick I use often.1 -
My moms food, fatty, not that nutricious and way to little protein.0

I do so well during the week as well, workout every day and come in at or under calories, but fall apart on the weekend. Everyone around me always wants to go out to eat and/or drink and its hard to be in that social setting and behave =(4

When i gotta eat out, i get worried about not being able to find food that fits my requirements (40/30/30) @ 2200kcal. AND low in sodium n added sugar as well.
N if im on holiday, iwont be able to track my intake regularly n this makes me stressed.
I used to be fat when i was younger.
I have a huge fear of getting fat again becos i couldnt log my food properly sometimes.2 -

I have seen you mention this in other threads. I just wanted to say that I, too, hope you're able to get the help you need soon. I have had clinical depression since childhood and it is indeed debilitating and consuming. Mine is entirely chemical based and is treated with medication which I supplement through exercise. Nonetheless, at age 43, it still struggle with it regularly; having plenty of days where I feel I am trying to move against the current. But, I also have wonderful days now and don't find the small things as difficult.
You're not alone. And I know you've probably been informed of all the things you should try (most of which seem like so much effort) but getting just the smallest bit of movement and sunshine can work wonders. I hope you have someone to talk to (again, very daunting I know) but if not and you need to rant/release, feel free to blow up my personal message box.8
