What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

I wanted to race a car at Brands Hatch but I exceeded the weight limit by just over a stone. I lost the stone and felt that by using My Fitness Pal it was easier than I expected. So here I am 5-1/2 stone (35kg) lighter, fitter, happier and a nicer wardrobe. No gyms, personal trainers, fad diets or expensive weight loss programs - just MFP, a sensible diet and lots of walking.
I am still using MFP to watch what I eat - sensible now without being too stringent.15 -

I want to be sure that I’ll fit on the rides. Everyone’s telling me I won’t have a problem because of how I carry my weight. I don’t want to chance it though. I would just be destroyed if I couldn’t get on the the two Harry Potter rides because I’m too fat. I have just started this journey. It’s not been easy either because my other half is not supportive. He doesn’t want me to lose weight. He likes my body how it is. But it’s so easy for someone whose 6 ft 7 and weighs 180 pounds to say there’s nothing wrong with you, when they aren’t the one who will have to wait while the whole family gets to ride the rides. In addition, the double edged sword is that I cook all the meals. The good news is, if he were cooking I promise it wouldn’t come close to sticking to my diet in any sort of way. But I’m challenged to come up with meals that I can eat, with everyone’s allergy restrictions, that doesn’t seem like “diet” food to them. So I have just been trying to eat much smaller portions. Which honestly, mine were always much smaller than his, but MUCH smaller now.
I started at 280 pounds (5ft9) and I didn’t get rejected from any rides but I was VERY VERY close, the minimum bar clicked but it required me to hold my stomach in so much I was going to explode. The team members used to giggle at me in the operating booth. Not fun times...7 -
A year and half ago my husband's brother started dating a cute hot blonde. He showed her picture to my husband and kids and said "Yea, your daddy's gonna be jealous now".....ugh those words have stuck with me! They are now married and she gained quite a bit of weight but she's still pretty and cute so my petty reason is to be hotter than her.29

Couldn't get in the rides at a theme park, couldn't take the helicopter ride, used to fly frequently and hated the sweat marks from the seat belt that was too short - take your pick4

When I was about 18 mind you only about 200lbs at the time. I couldn’t get the seat belt to work and the ignorant lady next to me was like “next time you should probably buy two seats, because it’s not fair to the person who has to sit next to you.”16 -
I'd like to weigh less than my partner. And since getting a new one isn't an option (he's a keeper!) I'm gonna have to get to a healthy weight, myself. 63lbs to go!18

So that men don't look at me and smirk when they see me running with sweat pouring off me.12

@AmberGlitterSparkles Perhaps that lady should buy 3 seats for herself, her ego and her superiority complex36 -

Seriously, I was referred to an orthopedist of all people, and he said "Let's be real, you're never going to lose the weight" and offered me a card for his friend that does WLS.
From my primary care doctor who knows me and has charted my progress and knows that although I'm heavy I have no blood pressures/diabetes/pre-diabetes issues, and that I gained the last bit of weight during an extremely difficult period while I was on medication and had untreated hypothyroidism, I WANT to be able to have a discussion about my weight. With the guy who is supposed to tell me if I need ankle surgery who also has a physique like Santa Claus himself?
Not so much.
I hear you. I work with many orthopedist on a regular basis and honestly this things they say about people while under anesthesia...kinda sucks sometimes. Reality is, most of them don't mean to hurt feelings or be mean, they just see the reality of what excess weight issues do to joints and backs. Maybe he was trying to motivate you? Sometimes a little blunt talk is enough to kick us in the pants. You have the right attitude, because you're here!!! I know you can lose it, I know you'll prove him wrong. BUT I also know he'll smile if he sees you again and be happy for you that you took it into your own hands.12 -
For years my older sister has been thinner than me, but not necessarily healthier. She always referred to herself as my Little Big sister...well if we the same size, shed just be my big sister..."older sister" 😂6

Tired of being the "fat 3rd wheel". I want a guy to look at me and see me as attractive, not fat, ugly, worthless.11

Really its for me and my health! I know this is super petty.. but what fuels me is the recent rudeness, to put it nicely.. of one particular person towards me. (new family ties) I feel she is jealous and is in competition. Its like high school all over again. Bring it on lady!!8

I got rejected by a guy for a date and I think my weight plays a role. I want to lose weight to show him up (on top of all the good reasons to lose weight of course)8

I want men to want me, and women want to be me9

I've been taking dance classes for 20+ years and just found out one of the tiny 16 year olds asked to be put into my class. I'm losing the weight so that when we get on stage next June I don't look huge next to her5

I know that many of us choose to lose weight because we want to have a healthy lifestyle and feel better about ourselves, but c'mon, we also have "I'm going to stick it to X" reasons.
For me, it's because I don't want to be the fat gay cousin. I want to be the hot gay cousin. I also want people's minds to be blown when I can lift heavy boxes by myself.
What's yours?
