Round 45 report: Logged later a few days, but average sugar consumption was quite a lot lower which was a goal. Got a couple of nice cardio workouts in, average weight is down.

Round 46 GOAL = Maintain weight. That's it. I am trying to control my anxiety by making rules again, and it's time to stop when my perfectionism is driving the bus; that's a "recipe" for disaster.

7/7 - 125.8 - yesterday under maintenance by a good ways, 10K steps, got in a walk/run to gym and 20 mins on elliptical.

Ummm.... whaaaaaa!!! 🤯😂 no clue what’s happening and why. I worked out very late last night and ate within my goal. So did everything right. Did feel bloated for the first time last night so maybe that’s what this is? Oh well! Let’s see what happens in this round. I know progress will be slower now, even if I push myself. Last 10 lbs!! Also need to get better sleep.

7/07 251.8 - Still feeling really motivated and optimistic, like this time is the time I'll see this through. I've lost 9 pounds in 5 days which I realize is mostly water, but I already feel better. I hope to be in the low 240s when this round is over.

7/07 295.2 I have been trying to track what I eat but I keep getting frustrated with trying to log homemade meals accurately when there is no real way for me to measure the portions accurately, so most of my calories are a guessing game for me.

I dipped out for the last two days of last weeks challenge. I had a hard time with the holiday but I lost the added weight and then some so technically I'm down at the end of last weeks challenge. Not bad.

For tracking home made recipes eg casseroles or soups I put everything in the recipe builder, The when the food is cooked I weigh the whole thing and then serve out my portion by weight.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.

REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.

Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.

A general downward trend is what we are looking for.

Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.

The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.

Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.

The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.

When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.

Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!
