I read something that eating 6 cloves of roasted garlic can be very beneficial to your body and such and promote weight loss among other things. I know you should not eat that my h raw garlic but what do you all think? Has anyone tried it? I might ask my doctor about it in August but I wanted opinions form you all too, especially if you have done something similar.

I have read Garlic is good for the heart, but I've never seen anything to say it's good for weight loss, most likely because no one food will do anything for weight loss, weight loss requires a calorie deficit.
I would suggest stop looking for "magic" solutions, weight loss is relatively straight forward you eat less than you burn.
Edited to add, I ate plenty of Garlic when I was more obese - it didn't make any difference.22 -
Garlic can be a natural diuretic. That may have something to do with the claim.7

No, garlic will not help you lose weight.
However garlic is supposed to be good for you though as it's pretty nutrient dense. And it's tasty. If you find your diet is a little bland, garlic can be a low calorie method to introduce flavour. But 6 cloves is a heck of a lot to eat a day. 1 is much more reasonable. Maybe 2 if you have a very garlic flavoured food (eg: garlic bread, garlic mushrooms)

I tried posting a reply but it didn't work. Anyway, Tinkerbell, I'm not ignorant. Nowhere in my post did I say I was looking for some magical fix it thing. I said that it can promote weight loss among other things. Please read and fully understand the question. I appreciate the edited part in your comment.
Snemberton, yeah, I've heard it can like boost metabolism and other cool healthy stuff.61 -
I use garlic in (nearly) everything I cook!
It's had zero affect on my weight loss but I've definitely gotten fewer colds since eating more of it. And my food has tasted waaaay nicer!13 -

Perhaps you should try not to get so defensive, there are plenty of people that come on these forums after reading mountains of Pinterest posts "Eat this one food to cut belly fat" etc.
There will be lurkers on the boards that read your post, so I am clarifying for them as well as you, I am not suggesting you are ignorant, but many people want to believe there are shortcuts to losing weight, there aren't any. You just need to eat less and move more and from another post you've made, you're already doing that, so just keep up the good work and be patient.

No food can make you lose weight, it won't help you one bit especially if the rest of your diet is crap.8

Not really being defensive, I just think you should fully read something before replying is all since nowhere did I say it makes you lose weight -shrugs-57

And another person not reading. I said aid in weight loss. Not make me lose weight. Jesus.51

What is the difference between causing and aiding weight loss in your mind? You are being defensive, as shown by your further replies to people who have taken their time out to respond and just want to see you succeed.32 -

Which is why she probably struggles to lose weight, she will get fixated on useless stuff like a garlic diet and criticize anyone who doesn't reply what she wants to hear.22 -
The only way I think it would aid weight loss is by making things taste good so you're more likely to be happy with your diet. I'm not sure you need 6 cloves for that, just use as much as is needed for the dish.9

I'm sorry?
"Aiding weight loss" means exactly the same as "helping you to lose weight"
I'm sorry that the answer is not what you wanted. If you're not happy with anything other than something that follows your narrative, why did you bother to ask the question?
If you want to be rude, I suggest taking your questions somewhere else where people won't bother to make an effort to actually help you.27 -

Your initial post does say that "it promotes weight loss".
Garlic is delicious, especially roasted. I could easily eat a whole clove....i think the calories would counter any miniscule metabolic benefit.9 -
I don't think garlic will help with weight loss at all but 6 cloves a day will surely help with friend loss!18

Some of us have a poor sense of taste and need all 6 to get any flavour!! Haha!! I definitely keep the vampires away, that's for sure...5
