This much drop in a day must be a fluke. We shall see tomorrow. Don’t really see how it can be stable here, so expecting it to stabilize at this weight over the next few days. Worked out yesterday and ate within my goal. Did eat much cleaner and healthier yesterday with lots of water, to balance out Chinese takeout over the weekend. Think I need a day of full rest from workout but let’s see what happens today. Sleep hasn’t been the best, need to make a point to go to bed earlier.

- 63.7 pounds (I had no idea I had this much to lose.) I will reassess when I get to 163 lbs. My doctor says my frame is medium-large. I’m guessing I have ~10 pounds more to lose, but who knows? I’m just taking it slowly. Quite the adventure.

Very crazy. I’m sure it will bounce around, but I’m happy. I guess my body’s making up for the plateau-ishness of the past few rounds! No complaints. Inches coming down, too. Usually I get wt loss or inches. This is such a mental game: once I really felt comfortable losing more (worries about skin), I did - and my skin is actually looking better.

I side with your DIL, too. The director may be concerned that children will here from other children if they are told earlier than others. The director could ask parents to tell their children on a particular evening & then the school could process it the next day & days to come with the children.
As a former teacher of young children, I found young children do not process death as we, adults, do. After all, many of them think rocks are alive! They don’t realize the finality of death. For months/years, they may ask when they will see the deceased again. And they can ask many questions that can make adults uncomfortable.
Because death is so intertwined with each family’s beliefs (from deep religious beliefs “we will see them again in Heaven” “their work here on Earth was done” to atheistic “it was an accident” “they stopped breathing” “the police are investigating”, I think it best that each family handles it — at least initially.

These days everyone has a phone, which means everyone has a camera. I miss the days when people would take my picture and have to drop the film off at the drug store when I was three states away.

7/17 134.0 Happily maintaining below 135. We didn’t eat until almost 5 so yesterday was a one meal day. My first keto-versary 167.5 to 134 in one year by changing to the ketogenic way of eating with no exercise.
7/18 132.5 DH, DD#2 & grandkids x3 were supposed to go 6 Flags in Missouri but DH has done something to his neck. He and I have no car here so no one left and kids will miss 6 Flags.(My diagnosis is pinched nerve which was tentatively confirmed by Urgent Care doc)
7/19 132.0 DD#2 just texted they are on the way. Two kids have to fly back to Las Vegas tonight because their mother won’t allow them to do something extra with our daughter. Family reunion is Saturday in southern Illinois. Now DH and I will be able to attend DHD#1’s graduation party on Saturday.

@abowersgirl like @denswrex I use protein bars as a "harm reduction" type treat, and they don't seem to creep on me too much. When I was in a deficit I always saved about 200 cal for a night time treat and it was often such a bar. Also I run and am otherwise active, and eat mostly vegetarian so getting protein is something I pay attention to.
If looking for something more nutritionally suited to women's averaging-smaller lean mass, I like Luna Protein - Luna goes around 170 cals a bar not 220-250 and the protein is 12 grams or so.6 -

7/18...177...😒. Still staying within my means and exercising daily. It's been crazy hot and our ac hasn't been able to keep up so sleeping has been a little difficult. I'm groping around for excuses, it seems. I don't know. I know it'll catch up, but it sure is frustrating when nothing seems to be changing.
7/19...177...it's been crazy hot. Ac is getting fixed today- yay! stayed below my calorie intake yesterday, just barely- but had a shot of whiskey in a little Dr Pepper at the end of the day- a very rare occurrence. Tend to avoid glutinous foods because they give me gut pain but had some last Friday. Wondering if some of this sudden weight gain is inflammation from that.

7/17 146.4 ~ (Steps 16,567) ~ Yesterday went well since the temps were in the lower 90s we spent the day, having water balloon fights, squirt guns plus grandma had to join the fun in the kiddie pool,

Feeling quite frustrated with these bumps, I need to just dig deep, stick with it and wait for the scales to start behaving again! - Looking for a downward trend to see out this round now! Really focused on my logging and on clean eating - which is what i love - it gives me ENERGY!
I am SO SO determined!! I 100% NEED to stay mindful about my daily logging and being mindful about what I eat and drink. I need to get into the HEALTHY BMI band.
This is a long term thing, a few bad days or weeks is something I'm getting better at coping with.

7/17 - 158.8 - I just found the challenge and didn't make the best choices earlier today for lunch. Time to move on and do better!
7/18 - 155 - Not a real loss from yesterday, just weighed in the morning and will continue to do that for the rest of the challenge. Finished strong yesterday with some time on the elliptical and then weights. It felt great! 12,042 steps yesterday and made it into bed by 11.
7/19 - 155 - Exercised, ate within my range, and hit nearly 15,000 steps yesterday. Had to choose between getting to bed by 11 or exercise yesterday, and think that getting the workout in was the right choice. Feeling good. Well, actually feeling motivated since I've been lifting weights in front of a big window that acts like a mirror at night (So that's how I look in exercise gear??). It's a little unpleasant and bewildering since the full-length mirror part of my day is normally kept to the bare minimum.
7/20 - 154 - With an active day (puppy's first visit to the huge dog park near our home) and exercise, I hit nearly 17,000 steps yesterday. Bought some new clothes. I wanted to wait until I'd dropped a few pounds, but, at this weight, I was really asking too much of the old ones. It's quite nice to be wearing pants that fit today where the buttons aren't just barely hanging on for dear life. Only ate when hungry and had a good day.
7/21 - 154 - 11,000 steps, a bike ride and in bed by 11 yesterday. Had a special dinner that wasn’t healthy, but it was delicious. Tracked it all, skipped dessert and opted for that bike ride instead.
7/22 - 154 - Missed getting this posted over the weekend. Just hit 10,000 steps, but didn't have the tracker on until 5 pm, so not too shabby. Another lovely bike ride with my son, plus we lifted weights together. So cute - although I'm not sure he'd buy into me calling him cute. I got an Olympic barbell as a gift, so adding that in with the dumbbells and having fun with that.
7/23 - 153 - Over 19,000 steps! I wasn't paying close attention when tracking my time on the elliptical Saturday and entered it after midnight so it showed up on Sunday. Man, was I tired after a day of house projects and yard work, but that elliptical session was already sitting there on my log, so I felt like I had to just do it! I pushed through and felt great this morning, although I was far from making my 11 pm bedtime goal.
7/24 - 153 (weighing in the evening on that same scale that had me at 158.8 on 7/17!) - 12,000 steps and stayed up too late yesterday. Was feeling worn out so skipped the weight lifting after the elliptical last night. With the tiny weights I'm lifting, I didn't think I'd need a rest day, but my body said something different. Feeling better today and plan to be back at it again tonight.

I'm new to the protein bar life lol but decided if I needed a treat I would turn to these otherwise I will stick to tuna, home made protein muffins (thanks for the idea @puttyputty ), peanut butter, chicken and veggies for my protein needs.6

@gomezdiana06 you are beautiful, I'm sure you looked better then you think... Like @VermontDan said we have all been there, it's a day to day fight but don't let it defeat you. There is nothing worse then getting down and out and having to start all over in another three months or four or five...I have been there and that disappointment is worse then feeling self conscious now. You are doing great!!!!
The only advice I have is make this a new starting step and work onward from here...you can do it!!

7/18 Enjoyed the weather outdoors today, went power walking today through the park. I am feeling100%. Eating healthy! But not much sleep.
7/19- Finally had some more sleep last night 10:00- 3:45 that is like three nights sleeper me. Great weather spent a lot of time out doors walking, outside makes me feel like a million dollars.
7/20- went for my radiation appointment and then weekly doctors appointment I am doing fantastic I am so fortune. Did a lot of walking today.
7/21 Tried to replace protein smoothie instead of eating bread, my diet is really hard being on steroids I really have to watch my food choices. Walking helps, 13,600 steps. Going to try to exercise more and try to get some yoga in too.
7/22 Today was a busy cooking morning starting at 2:00 am. We went to a birthday party for my grandson which is
birthday is tomorrow. Ready to start the week walking and yoga are on the list. Week # 5 radiation- 11 more.
7/23- Today made cauliflower soup for lunch, then I can watch my ingredients. Went walking 30 mins. and yoga today.
7/24- Did not get a lot of sleep last night, I went for treatment and then we were looking for new appliances we were out most of the day I was very overtired so took it easy tonight. Watching my food intake. Drinking lots of water. Feeling 100% amazing!15 -

7/17 - didnt measure today! Feeling good and making heathy food choices. Will be busy for a full gym class. but planning some bodyweight/yoga stretching at home
7/18 - 191.6 lb - down some since holding around 193 for the past several months, yay! Consistency is key for me, duh
7/19 - 191.4 lb - nice surprise after eating almost 1000 extra cals yesterday I did also try barre class for the 1st time (yay) and took a longer walk, so the heavy lunch was partially burned off at least. Better planning and leftovers for lunch will help stay on track today
7/20 - 191.2 lb - ate a huge dinner going out with friends, so must be dehydrated lol. I feel sluggish from the extra food &grease.. keeping that in mind with goals to eat within calories and hit the gym today
7/21 -191 lb -yay! Went for a mich-needed nap bike ride instead of the gym in Friday night. Staying focused this weekend too
7/22- 189.4 lb - hello 180s! Did some zumba on Sat, with some added abs work
7/23 - 190 lb - going strong, busy Sunday yesterday. Having some low back pain, probably due to yoga and dance class yesterday going to rest and hopefully feel better soon

7/17 - 182.8 lbs Off to a great start! Been going really slow for 2 months, and this is the first time that it speeds up a bit again. May it last all the way to the finish line hahah. I know it's not a race, but it's important to have some fun along the way 😂
7/18 - 181.6 lbs Woosh! wow, this is great! Haven’t been doing anything differently foodwise. Can’t wait to finally see the 170 number.
7/19 - 180.8 lbs Woooho! I’m just really enjoying this. I have felt so uncertain for 2 months, because weight loss has been going sooo slow.. But I think I’m the type of person that drop a lot of weight, then it pauses, then it drops again.

7/17: 70.7 - Can you actually not. Good day yesterday, ate reasonably well and had a good 90 minutes of Judo in the evening. Someone bought cake into the office, so that piece of fruit missed out in favour of a smallish slice of cake. With no scales I have no idea how heavy it was, so I had to guesstimate. Probably wasn't the best choice, but I've not had cake for ages and it didn't half taste goood. Still in deficit, weight trend is still generally downwards for the last two weeks (and level for the last week). Got to trust the deficit and not get disheartened by the number on the scale.
7/18: 70.3 - Finally going back in the right direction! Spent all day yesterday feeling super boated and hungry. Was a massive trial to not go completely over. Ate a largish, bready breakfast which completely messed me up for the rest of the day (because fresh bread is hard to log so I had to do my best estimate). Standard lunch (although I dropped and stepped on one of my strawberries ). And scraped it back to a sensible day with a veg heavy pasta dish for tea. 69g of protein for the day
7/19: 69.8 - Yaaaas. Got around to properly logging my lunch (as opposed to using my "generic salad" entry). Turns out I've been eating much less than I thought I was, no wonder I was so hungry at lunch! Tried a new chocolate protein bar as a snack at work. Not great on the calories, but really stays the hunger pangs and still kept below my calories for the day (even with the pizza and garlic bread dinner). 70g of protein for the day (bang on!)
7/20: 70.5 - Tired and lazy all day. Ate takeaway for dinner and completely blew my calories for the day. No calories listing for the takeaway so had to guess with the entries on the database. Probably way out in every way. Just hoping that the calories weren't as high as I logged them at (probably wishful thinking). Not surprised with the weigh in amount. 147g of protein for the day.
7/21: 70.5 - Didn't make it to training in the evening, felt way too tired. Calories good though. 65g of protein for the day.
7/22: 70.5 - Worked it out, probably spent about 7 hours on the Judo mat, half training, half teaching. Completely dead by the end of the day. 67g of protein for the day.
7/23: 70.5 - More time on the Judo mat today (about 4 hours), mostly teaching though. Still completely shattered. Also, seem to have hit a sticking point. I've always had some daily fluctuations, so this sudden stationary stop seems really odd to me. I did weigh myself in the evening to test if my scales did weigh different (they did), so I don't know what's happening right now. On the bright side, NSV are showing up in abundance right now. Down 1 inch on the waist, skirt that was always a little big (but recently fitted really well) is a little too big again, tried on that figure hugging long silver dress, and it didn't look awful. Yeah, definitely going in the right direction. 66g of protein for the day.
7/24: 70.1 - Right, finally. If I saw 70.5 again I think I would've thrown the scales out of the window. An okay day yesterday. Was so hungry at lunch and ended up eating both halves of my protein bar except for one (oops), and then felt uncomfortably full as a result. When will I ever learn. Breakfast and lunch were a little higher than normal, and dinner was really quite high (won't be buying that brand of pizza again) however I then did (yet) another judo session in the evening, so stayed within my target for the day. 82g of protein for the day.
7/25: (forgot to weigh) - Actually that's a lie, I did weigh, but only after I got dressed and I was running late so I didn't have time to get undressed to get a proper weigh. It read 71.3 I think, but I was wearing jeans and they're probably at least 0.8 or so. Doesn't matter. Anyway: Really bad day yesterday. Bottomless stomach day which would not be satisfied. I can also tell that I shouldn't go food shopping on these days because I don't normally buy cakes. I bought cakes. Quite a lot of cakes. Not the best situation. On the bright side I think I've only cancelled out my calorie deficit from Monday so shouldn't have completely derailed my week. Thinking positively I'm getting back onto it today and concentrating on filling myself up with low calorie dense foods for today. 80g of protein for the day (turns out it easy to hit my protein goal when I massively overeat for the day)

@tiabirdie56 This is such a tragedy. I agree with you. Your DIL knows her own daughter and will be able to help her deal with it without all the mass emotions that could be created if it is done en masse at school.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

7/17 - 159.5 - Nice start to the round. We've got out of town family coming in to stay with us tomorrow for 10 days. I hope I'm able to at least maintain this weight.
7/18 - 160 - I guess I'm going to hang around here for a while.
7/19 - 159.5 - Family came in, we had pizza and drinks, and I went a little over on my weight loss calories. I'm actually surprised this number is not higher. I'll take it.
7/20 - 160 - Here's the number I was expecting yesterday.
7/21 - 158.5 - I was not expecting this after last night! We had Chinese take out and drinks. I stayed pretty close to weight loss calories, but I thought the sodium would send my weight up. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
7/22 - 158.5 - It's nice to see this number again.
7/23 - 158.5 - I was a little hungover yesterday and barely had any steps for the day. I stuck to my weight loss calories though. If I can finish this round at this weight I'll be happy.
7/24 - 159 - I was really good yesterday. No drinks, plenty of water, I guess the weekend caught up with me.
