About me: 61, 5'7", in maintenance since March this year. Serial loser and regainer of 20 and determined not to slide back up this time.
Round 49 report = Start = 126.4 * Ave = 127.4 * Min = 125.6 * Max = 129.2 < and that was scary.
Round 50 GOAL = Maintain weight edging back down from the high part of my zone by getting workouts back in the mix.
8/16 - 127.0 - Yesterday under maintenance calories, clear enough after work to run; so I settled for am introductory 2 miles, then discovered I had the wrong key and ran 1.5 more.
8/17 - 128.4 - Yesterday not a day of power.
8/18 - 128.0
8/19 - 128.8
8/20 - 127.6 - I keep missing days, both here and in logging. I am lucky I have not gained more. Smoke in the valley is significant, headache pain, fighting with a new pillow that's increased neck and shoulder pain. Too beat up for self-care, that's the conundrum. Back at it today. Yesterday made myself do a large canning project in spite of migraine. Garden waits for no one. So at least I was on my feet and active much of the day.
8/21 - 128.4 - Logged yesterday, slightly over maintenance calories, worked standing up all day yesterday (standing workstation helps with head-neck-shoulder pain), and got a small workout yesterday on elliptical. Calf really tight when running, but didn't go into spasms.15 -
Thanks @quiltingjaine for the neckbones recommend - I will read more about them, looks interesting!1

@marinaabcde If your son cooks, he should clean up. When my DH realized he liked baking (cookies, mostly) he would leave the mess for me. I told him he needs to clean up if he was going to use MY KITCHEN so he is now pretty good about that and even hand washes everything he uses.
@abowersgirl With all of that exercise, I think you would benefit from drinking more water - significantly more. It would help with recovery and should reduce pain. JMHO
@tiabirdie56 Congrats on your mini-YAY! Almost 70# is wonderful and you are to be commended for your stick-to-it-iveness! Carry on!!3 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
8/16 133.5 Soooo, the cat woke me at 4AM because he thought that was a good time for breakfast. I didn’t so was going to put him in his carrier. When I pivoted, the toe of my shoe caught in the grout line and we went down. I hit my ribs on the refrigerator and skinned one knee. Pretty sure I’m going to have a bruise but currently sitting with a well wrapped ice pack on my side. I don’t think anything is broken. I think Oskar is going to be restricted at night to the sewing room and bathroom in the future. (Master suite)
8/17 133.5 I slept in the recliner last night and got over 8 hours in spite of my sore ribs and ice pack. At lunch I ate French fries. They were perfectly cooked - crispy! I ate about 1/3 and gave the rest to Carl. I’m still in nutritional ketosis this morning so that’s good. We’ll see what the scale thinks tomorrow or Sunday!
8/18 136.0 (!) That’s what carbs do! I was hurting yesterday from my fall and ate 1/2 a pita with my Greek salad w/ gyro meat. The price I pay for 2 high carb days!
8/19 135.0 Some of my lady friends are coming over to eat, drink, and sew. I wish I felt better. My ribs are better but getting anything accomplished is exhausting. We were out last night, I went to bed late and woke early. DD#2 is going to cut my hair. She is a school teacher but gives better haircuts than the salons I have visited.
8/20 134.5 Two of my friends came over yesterday. We enjoyed good conversation, Keto snacks and adult beverages. Vodka/soda
8/21 135.5 Picked up roasted chilies and ate at one of our fave restaurants last night. Sure there were carbs in that green chili but it was so good! I was in agony by the time we got the chilies in the freezer but feel much better this morning. Back on the heating pad.13 -

YESTERDAY’S STATS: 8 Net Carbs. 907 Calories In / 2485 Calories Out. 7,410 total steps. 3.14 total miles with no significant exercise. 9/13 (250) fitbit hours. Fasted 16:8 . Not a lot of movement for the day. Spent much of it on paperwork/trip prep and packing for travel. Kept diet at very low carbs and calories to help keep them down for the week because I know what damage is coming from this trip of all sitting and business luncheons and restaurants. Ugg. I know, I know…..I should not be so restricitive but it’s so second nature to try to mitigate the damage. I will try to post stats in the upcoming days but will not be able to weigh (I only use my scale at home in the exact spot everyday!) I pray for strength and restraint.

Stats = 5'4 female, age 48
Highest Weight = 172 lbs
Initial Goal Weight = 139 lbs (last weighed this is 2013)
Ultimate Goal Weight = 129 lbs (last weighed this in 2011)
Round 50 Goal: to be out of the 150's and into the 140's
Exercise Plan = The Betty Rocker 90 Day Challenge (in weeks 5-6 of 12), run outside 3-4 times a week, get 8,000-10,000 steps/day
Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
8/16 = 151.2 (no change from yesterday) Yesterday was a rest day in my 90 day challenge, so I just went for a short run. I ate okay but still low on my calories, I need to get to the grocery store and do some meal prep! I'm missing my daughter, who is still away, but I'm very proud of myself that I have been able to enjoy this alone time and not worry about her like I was afraid I would. It helps that I'm getting daily pictures of her doing fun things and she has a happy, relaxed smile in each one. Today, I've got my day 28 workout to do & I want to get in a short run as well and then lots of house cleaning & laundry to do. I wish everyone a great start to round 50, this is a great challenge to be a part of! "What you do today, can improve all your tomorrows."
8/17 = 151.2 (no change from yesterday) 3rd day in a row at this weight, but I had a big loss last round, so a bit of a slow down is to be expected. I completed the 1st month of my 90 day challenge yesterday and am scheduled to start the 2nd month today but my body is rebelling. It's giving me all the nopes in regards to working out today. I'm going to take today and tomorrow off and start the 2nd month exercises on Sunday. My fitness group that I am a part of has a saying...."all or something", so I am allowing myself to listen to my body and pick this up next week. Have a great weekend everyone!
8/18 = 151.5 (up .3 from yesterday) I spent last night at my sister's & I didn't have my scale with me this morning, so I used hers, so this may or may not be a real "gain". There is no reason for it, so it doesn't bother me. Today was my 2nd rest day and I was still not feeling 100% when I woke up. I finally went to the grocery store and I'm prepped to have my nutrition back on point tomorrow when I re-start up again with my workouts. I'm feeling better after dinner tonight of beef tenderloin, broccoli, and rice, thinking maybe my iron was low. I'm going to start back up with multi-vitamins this week, I've gotten out of the habit and need to better with this.
8/19 = 151.2 (down .3 from yesterday) Back down to this number again, which is fine. I have a big event on Thursday and I just got my dress back from being altered and don't want to lose too much weight this week and have it be too loose. It fits perfectly right now, so I'm okay with maintaining this week if that is what happens. I ate closer to maintenance today but I got in a lot of exercise. Did my day 29 of 90 workout, went for a run, & a long walk.
8/20 = 150.8 (down .4 from yesterday) Scale is moving again! So close to being under 150, but I think that might not happen and stick until the next round. I definitely will go over calories on Thursday night with drinks as well as food and then it will probably take the last 2 days to rebound. I will be mindful of what I eat and drink at this event, but I also am taking it as a "no strings attached" evening. I plan on enjoying myself in a reasonable manner and then getting right back to eating at a deficit the next day. Today is a rest day on my 90 day challenge but I plan on getting a long walk in as I'm in a steps challenge in another group. Have a great start to this new week everyone!
8/21 = 150.1 (down .7 from yesterday) Yesterday was a good day, got in lots of steps for a "rest day" and ate well within my calories. The horrible humidity were were having has stopped, hopefully gone for the rest of the summer and there is a cool breeze which is nice change for August. In other news, my daughter and I met with a new doctor yesterday to work on a new protocol for her anxiety and OCD medication and I really liked him, which is such a relief. There is so much stress in my life, parenting her through this, but taking care of myself and making my health and well-being a priority, makes it all so much more manageable. We will switch her over to the new medication on Saturday, hoping it will be seamless and a non-event. "Today is my tomorrow. It's up to me to shape it, to take control, and seize every opportunity. The power is in the choices I make each day. I eat well. I live well. I shape me."

8/17 149.5 Yippie skippy, my migraine is gone, finally. The smoke from the fires in BC is going away from the coast and they took my headache with them. I can’t imagine how horrible it is for all the folks living in smoke for weeks. 3 days just about did me in.
8/18 149.5
8/19 148.5 yippie! Two weeks of zero movement so I went down 200 cals. a day and finally seeing progress again. It doesn’t make sense cico but I am happy to see that darn scale move. I really was wondering if it was just stuck!
8/20 148.5 Smoke is really bad today
8/21 148 The the smoke is bad again today so outside activity is out for me. Tomorrow I will check out the gym if the smoke is still bad. The 200 calorie drop seems to have jog my body enough to start loosing again. It could be just fluke though, lol.

Round 50
Day/Weight/Comment
8/16 — 138.2 — Got sick with what I think was food poisoning last night, still not at 100%. Scale will probably go back up tomorrow when I feel like I can eat again 🤢
8/17 — 138.8 — I was able to eat again yesterday, and actually ended up getting chipotle last night. I’ve been doiong so well eating at home and not out, so was bummed I gave into temptation. However, after after the night I had before I gave myself a pass. Back to being hydrated and I’m shocked the scale didn’t go up more than it did. Pretty happy overall. 😊
8/18 — 138.4 — I really tried to focus on drinking tons of water today. Stayed under my calories for the day, but generally had a lazy day at home. 🙃
8/19 — 138.8 — Kept my calories in my normal range yesterday, going out to lunch and to a concert today so will try my hardest to make good decisions while I’m out.. 😬 wish me luck, haha. On a side note: I am loving this challenge, it makes it easy and fun to keep myself accountable. Thank you 🙏🏼 to the person who thought of this great idea💡!
8/20 — No weigh in — I did okay yesterday besides having 4 glasses of wine through the day and night. Feel bloated today, but didn’t go too over my calorie limits. Today was my first day back to school so I completely forgot to weigh myself since the schedule change!
8/21 — 138.6 — Focusing I’m staying under calories and drinking tons of water, plenty of time to reach my goal of 138 by the 25th! Staying positive ☺️

@heymossy hang in there. It will start moving again soon.
@SheilaBoneham I buy the whole curcumin roots and grate them into my food which seems less expensive plus I know for sure I am getting the active ingredients. Also I drink plenty of ginger tea made from fresh roots to try and keep the inflammation down. It is no where near as fast or strong as the prednisone of course but so far it has worked. The biggest thing that has helped long term is finding ways to control my thoughts and mental stresses. You are fortunate to have found a dr. Who is willing to work with you. My rheumatologist is all about the drugs.5 -
This round I’m just back from a trip. So happy that I did not gain. The credit for that is mostly due to family that I was visiting who all eat a lot of fresh vegetables. I tried to make good choices on my days where I was driving but that was so-so.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/16, Thursday – Last leg of my trip home, long smoky drive from mid Alberta to Kootenays in BC. At one point had one-lane traffic because of fire near the road but overall just hot with smoky haze.
8/17, Friday – 160.2 Did not gain in my couple of weeks away!! Headache and dead tired from all the driving so will take it easy for a couple of days but stay mindful on the eating.
8/18, Saturday – 160.6 Well, did not stay very mindful on the eating, ate chocolate almond spread on corn thins for an evening “snack” – not even supposed to eat in the evening because of invisible GERD. (Called “invisible” because the discomfort from it is so minor that you can ignore it but it does affect your esophagus over the long term.) I have a stressful wedding coming up in 2+ weeks and, of course, nothing to wear that is even close to suitable. Need to get my head in the right space so it doesn’t end up in emotional eating. I can do this. Going shopping today. There are very few options around here but I thought of one so will check that out. Could sew something but that is always iffy.
8/19
8/20, Monday – 160 I don’t think I deserve this, but I will take it and try to keep it! Yesterday was definitely a zombie day with erratic eating. Always takes me awhile to get back to normal after a long trip so I’ve learned to be patient with myself, do what I can, and know that my energy will come back once I get enough rest. Shopping trip was a partial success, found a sheer overshirt in a small designer’s shop where they alter for free. Not cheap but no worse than the big chain stores.
8/21, Tuesday – 159.8 So happy with this. I have not seen this number in at least a couple of years. Hope that I’ve left the 160’s behind forever.

8/16 / 248.8 / Rolled back into my town last night. The drive from Alaska was wonderful, but obviously a lot of sitting on my kiester. I did eat to plan about 70% of the time. I figure these 3.4 pounds should come off pretty easily, and then it will be back to the grind.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/16 155.2 Weak start as far as my eating yesterday for this challenge as I overindulged and did not track my meal last night, but it was good. I expect a bump up tomorrow from the carbs (rice, garlic bread, alcohol, ice cream)
8/17 156.2 Yesterday another wth day, ate well all day until after dinner toast with butter, ice cream, basically a binge. Not really sure what is going on, but if I had to guess I would say...I am feeling bored and am seeking "variety" through eating, plus that "full" feeling when you eat a lot of carbs. As I was eating the ice cream it didn't even taste that good or satisfy, but I finished it anyway. I guess it's why I am here. It's hard sometimes to deal with the relationship with food. It's not like we can go cold turkey and stop eating. One day at a time.
8/18 155 Woke up with a migraine- movies last night, popcorn. Eating still not good. Dairy causing breakouts. Headaches. Body is telling me.
8/19 154.2 Stayed down most of yesterday recovering from the migraine, it's so strange how our bodies choose to let go of weight. I have had a "bad" week so far eating macros and over calories, yet I am now dropping. Just another lesson to trust the process and stay the course. I am not beating myself up for induging, because I am not on a diet. I am merely making smarter choices with occasional treats. My whole life I have done the yoyo, though this is the highest (171) I let myself go. Where I usually run into problems is not in losing the weight, that is the easy part. The hard part is when I am thin and I think I can just eat whatever I want. And there it comes back again. The only time I really maintained was when I was a runner, though I lacked tone. I have not gotten myself active again though it is necessary as part of the whole picture, but school starts next Tuesday so there will be no more excuses then!
8/20 Weigh in Day 154.6 Down 1 lb since last weigh in. I found some notes from 2009 with my weight and measurements, I weighed 147 and am curious to see what my measurements will be now 9 years later when I reach that number. I better get my butt moving if I want to match or beat them since for sure I was running back then!
8/21 154.4 Just another day. I started tracking my migraines in my fitbit app so I can maybe finally see what the triggers are. (other than overthinking induced)

Day/Weight/Comment
8/16 - 162.4lbs (I’ll take that )
8/17- 162lbs ( small lost but still a lost trying to stay positive. I hope to be in the 161s tomorrow)
8/18- 160.2lbs I weighed first thing this morning & was so happy to see this number. I was in disbelief & stepped off & on about 5 times no lie just to see the same number appear. But after 20 mins I decided to weigh again just to be sure 🙄 & it read 161.2lbs 😭 so I dont know which one to go by hoping the lower number is correct of course. So if the lower number is correct I’m officially down to pre pregnancy weight. But a huge goal for me will be to get out of the 60s because from grade 10(I think age 15/16) to 22 I been 160 - 165lbs. So it would be amazing to finally see number that’s not in the 60s
8/19- 162lbs😒 hmm I was feeling so disappointed when I saw this number this morning. Earlier today not so good, I ate things I knew I shouldn’t have. But I did manage to stop myself from binge eating. For dinner I’m going to take things light with chicken and some steamed veggies. Hope I’m back down tomorrow.
8/20-162lbs tired of seeing this number getting a bit discouraged to getting at my goal of 158lbs at the end of the round. Hopefully I see progress tomorrow.
8/21- 162lbs hoping for a miracle to get me back on track

Micro changes in habits each week create magic!
Daily exercise - even a mild stroll- makes a big difference...
When you most feel like giving up, and you keep going, that’s when the scale really drops!
I had given up on dieting, and had forgotten completely how good it feels to be lighter. Everything is easier and pain free. A miracle.

Unbelievable.
I can’t quite remember my lowest weight over the years when I dieted, but I know I’ve never gotten below 160 in my adult life.
0.3 to go until I’m in the 150’s, which I plan to be in for the rest of my life. A slow, long journey (on purpose), but so worth it, as I’ve developed so many micro habits gradually.
The key for me: I wasn’t addicted to food; I was addicted to eating out. It took me about 18 months to g r a d u a l l y reduce that to 2 times a week & 22 months to kick it completely. Then the weight really began to drop off.

@quiltingjaine You are probably right, I have never been a thirsty person (I drink coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day, nothing else) I have always had a hard time with water in take.
I also took into consideration that after I worked out, I couldn't go to sleep right away, so i finally fell asleep around 3 15 am and I wake up ten to seven. I'm sure the lack of sleep has a little to do with it as well.
@jerier thanks for the info, I will keep that in mind3
