8/26 - Out of town.
8/27 - 147. I missed the end of the last round since I was out of town for a long weekend. We walked everywhere and I even made it to the hotel gym. We also went on a guided food tour. Even before the trip, I had a round of no scale movement. I like what I'm doing this time. It feels sustainable and I hope that I can get to a healthy weight doing it. I'm going to go one more round without changing my program and see if the scale starts to move again. If not, I'll reevaluate for September. Even though the scale isn't moving, I feel stronger, healthier and just a little bit firmer.
8/28 - 146. Yay!

@MadisonMolly2017 - Thank you so much for your comment ! I see you on the 24 hours of exercise thread too. Yeah, I'm taking measurements. I'm pretty happy with things. I recently changed my GW - now I have 27 pounds more to lose. Not so close anymore - so the scale should speed up, eh? LOL !6

Happy to be in for another round! Thank you so much for keeping these up and going, its the best challenge on MFP
8/28 - 257.2...I really need to get my head back into this and re-find my motivation. Went for a walk yesterday but had take out for lunch and supper so I was still way over on calories. And I haven't been drinking nearly enough water..I keep choosing diet pop instead
@tlgale Diet soda triggers cravings for me.
I've never thought about this, but it could be why I'm finding it so hard to get back on track.
I'll cut them tomorrow (I've already had them today) and see if it helps.
Thanks for the idea3 -

Post when you weigh at the gym. You can also track other metrics like your calories/carbs/protein, water intake, etc.1 -

Round 5 for me
SW:215lbs
UGW: 140lbs
Aims for this round - to exercise at least 5 out of the 10 days and to lose at least another 2lbs. My new mini goal is190lbs but I don't intend to lose it quickly as I'd rather lose it slowly so it stays off. So I'll aim for 195-194 for this round.
Good luck everyone
8/26 197.7- 1lb up from yesterday - not making the right choices with food. I used to keep a food diary and think I need to go back to this to see where I'm going wrong. No workout / lazy day.
8/27 198- 0.3 up on yesterday's weight... hopefully I'll start to go down now, as this usually the pattern ( I hope)
8/28 198- no change - better than going up!! Planning to go swimming tomorrow, as I say need to start moving and by telling my daughter she will nag me until we go.

@MadisonMolly2017 - Congratulations to you too on the closet improvements and having a closet full of clothes that fit that you love. I dream of that day! I love watching your progress and the stats that you track..
@heymossy
Hi! Thank so much. I thought the stats might be bugging folks, but they help me! There’s always something going in the right direction4 -
Been on a steady trend of gaining since January. Overall I think I've gained about 12 lbs. gotta catch it before it sticks. Looking forward to a productive week, off to do some meal planning.

Sounds like a really good plan! We’re glad you’re here!!
12 lbs in8 months is 175 calories a day on average..(Exactly the same another poster.)
You can make small changes to bring that down once you have your tracking in place!!
Have a great date night!!5 -

What made you decide to move your goal weight?
@MadisonMolly2017
I was looking at my body and thought I could well lose more than 12 pounds ! And, the 135 is more in the middle of the BMI range for my height of 5'7". And, one more reason ... 135 sort of scares me. I don't ever remember weighing in the 130's. 150 - I remember being that - ok, it was in high school - long long time ago. BUT, I want to have a goal that makes me uncomfortable. Something to really challenge myself with.5 -

8/26 149 yikes! Well that is a jump up from yesterday of 1 1/2 pounds up from yesterday, but I had a wonderful night and knew I was going waaaay over.
8/27 148 The effects of the Saturday night dinner are going away. Only 1/2 pound to go. Nothing like started the 10 days on the hole 🙃 but at least it doesn’t last too long. I slept badly last night due to lots of muscle pain. Perhaps from over doing it at water fit on Friday? Or perhaps just my body not liking the swings in weight. Regardless I am going to give the pool another go this morning. Happy Monday everyone.
8/28 149.5 sheesh I have been out to eat the last 2 days and it shows. Still I am happy with myself for going to waterfit yesterday and I will head out for a walk very soon. I was sore during the night but everything feels ok today so I don’t think I over did it as much as on Friday. It takes a bit for me to figure out just how much I can push myself but I am getting there. 💪🏼

Strategy: eat better, drink vinaigre acide twice a day, burn 350-400 cal by doing exercices . Intermittent fasting. This round will try not to eat after 6PM, it seems that's very helpful for weightloss.

@Lucy_Elizabeth I'm pretty sure we have a couple of people who don't post their weight everyday. As long as you post your first and last it should be fine. Do what's best for you. I know people who can't weigh in everyday because it messes with their head and they tend to fall into unhealthy extremes out of fear of the scale. I do suggest though you post everyday, to keep the routine, but use it as a reflection of your days.4

Goal: Be conscious of my snacking in the evenings.
8/26--218.4 Zumba was great yesterday. Installing the closet organizers yesterday took longer and was a lot more work then I thought, but so far so good. I was so focused on the closet yesterday that I hardly drank any water...I can definitely feel it this morning. Plan is to finish putting up the wall paper and installing some more of the closet organizer. I am so sore from yesterday that the plan, assuming the rain holds off, is to go for a long walk.
8/27--219.3 I don't know where that weight came from, I can only assume it's the lack of water I had over the weekend and the soreness from working on the closet organizer...which is now 2/3 done. Regardless, my weight trend is still downward. Forgot to bring my running shoes for a lunch time walk, so going to Zumba tonight and hopefully work on the closet a little this evening.
8/28--220.0 Late check in. Went for walk yesterday with dog. Did some more work on closet and relaxed for rest of evening.

Starting weight Jan 2014: 225 lb
8/26
8/27: 204.6. My start date. Off to a good start. 1 hour of exercise, 5 servings of fruits/veggies, 60 oz of water, and under my calorie goal.
8/28: 203.8. I got lots of walking in today and my legs are still sore from yesterday. I didn't drink as much water today and had popcorn and chicken fried steak so I'll probably see an increase in weight when I weigh again tomorrow morning. I was under my calories for today though. I completed my food log at the beginning of the day and substituted foods if I was craving something else.

Round 50- -1.8lb
Round 51- SW 351.6lb
8/26 - 351.6lb
Under my calorie goal for the day. I really need to work on eating while I'm at work! Sometimes it's so easy just to forget to eat. So I finish work and I'm really hungry! Took the stairs when I came home today. I really can't do much activity because my body always aches, but I hope that I'll be able to soon!
8/27 - 349.8 (-1.8)
really, really happy that a loss finally showed on the scales! It likes to fluctuate, and I know the weight is not the be-all and end-all of this....but I am so relieved that I could *see* a result.
Another good day food-wise. My body is totally aching still, so not much physical activity. Hopefully when the weather finally cools down, I can go for walks and things!
8/28 - 348.2lb (-1.6lb/ -3.4lb total)
another good result on the scales and very surprised!
went to an all you can eat sushi place and tracked everything and didn't overeat! My wife had a birthday party and i stayed clear of the cakes and treats, having a nice supper now and feeling very positive- 2 weeks fully on plan and not fallen once!

Round 1
8/26 - 73.4kg
8/27 - 73.0kg -- Yesterday I actually was more committed thinking about this group. every time I wanted to "cheat" I remembered that I'll be logging my weight in the morning and that these 10 days might not show a minus if I do so. It worked, I stayed out of the fridge.
8/28 - 72.6kg -- I swear that this is the first time in forever I see the scale going down.woo! It must be this challenge! I'm really mindful of what I'm doing/eating knowing that I'll be reporting on it. Tonight I have the gym, curious to see how that affects things. Ideally, I'd love to lose 1kg (2lbs) every challenge. Not sure if that's possible, but I'll try! This is an awesome group. Keep rocking, ladies, and gents. We can do this.
8/29 - 71.8 kg - Wooo! probably just losing water or something but I'll take it. I was on my cal goal and went to the gym, so pretty good day. It's summer here so navigating weekends here is the most difficult part. Beer, icecreams and a bunch of other no-nos everywhere. But hey, it's "just 10 days", right? It really helps me to chunk this down and think in those terms. I'm trying to learn not to use the food as an award, so here's mine: At the end of the challenge purchase new fitness clothes as a reward.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

8/26: 69.5 - Kept around goal
8/27: 68.6 - kept around goal
8/28: 68.8 - BBQ yesterday, I've probably under logged, but generally quite good. Lots of running around after the puppy. Slept VERY well. Also, because I've been catching up. Look! LOOK! Under 69kg! I have literally not seen 68.x since before stopped living at home! I AM VERY HAPPY TO SEE THIS! Been finding it easier to stick to the goal at the moment, so all going well right now.
8/29: 68.6 - Well this is officially 1 stone down. A target I wasn't aiming for until I overheard some work colleagues discussing weight loss (both of them started about the same time I had, and have lost similar amounts, I'm nosy, I know, but I was interested and they were discussing this across the office so whatever) And one said to the other "it doesn't really feel like you've made progress until you've lost a stone". Now I don't agree with her, however I get her point. There is something very satisfactory about being able to say "I have lost a stone". Although I'm working in kg, most people in the uk still use stone and pounds for their own weights. When asked how much I've lost, saying "oh about 6 and a half kilos" doesn't sound as impressive as "about a stone" (mostly because many people don't know how much 6.5kg is, whereas everyone knows that 1stone is actually quite a bit) Anyway, that aside, okay food day yesterday. Bread and butter tea so was quite tricky to log. Again, I made sure I over logged on some foods (cheese mostly) to make up for the almost certain underlogging elsewhere. Still, pretty good overall.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/26 - 257.2...forgot to weigh this morning when I first got up.
8/27 - 257.2...bad food choices, no exercise and another late weigh in.
8/28 - 257.2...I really need to get my head back into this and re-find my motivation. Went for a walk yesterday but had take out for lunch and supper so I was still way over on calories. And I haven't been drinking nearly enough water..I keep choosing diet pop instead
8/29 - 257.2...did a little better yesterday. Still went over calories but not by nearly as much..stayed well under maintenance. No water yesterday at all, so I'm starting today with a huge glass, staying away from the diet soda and hoping I can finally get back on track and stay there.
