What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

The most petty reason I have is that I have a set of cuff links which are the U.S. State quarter for Texas with gold foil on the relief textures. The only french cuff shirts I have are small and fit me when I'm under 170 lb. That photo is of me in one of them.10

I've spent the summer building a Thor Ragnarok cosplay for myself. I've promised myself I will it be a chubby Thor! My event is August 31 and mymotivation all summer has been to be a Sexy Thor!! I'm down 22 pounds and still 20 days left!!!
Cosplay info: I have uv sensitive contacts in and installed black light LEDs into the helmet. So when I turn on the blacklights my eyes light up like lightning. Also installed mini flashing lights throughout the entire cosplay.
Can't wait for sexy Thor!!!!
That is an amazing cosplay!!!
my petty reason is that I want to cosplay as Xena. Leetle bit more work required til I am there haha4 -
To not have ‘fat’ whatever thrown at me as an insult. They’ll need to get a bit more creative13

Haha I love this thread! Makes me feel a lot better about the super petty days that are deffo part of this journey...
1. I'm SICK of being average. I've never been "fat" but I've never been "skinny" either. So I want to be on the low end of a healthy BMI, not always in the boring mediocre middle
2. I want to be "the hot wife", especially around my husband's football friends
3. I have never in my life felt confident enough to rock a crop top in public and I'd like to be able to before they go out of fashion
Haha so cathartic!!10 -

My petty reason is that I used to be a cute girl and now I’m not. I want to be looked at again. I want to feel cute and sexy and confident.
I want my husband to feel lucky to have me. I also want him to feel like other men want me.9 -
To not be the funny fat friend all the time!8

omg yep the poster above...I'm done being the fat funny friend!7

New petty reason! My cousin is getting married next year and I want to look better in his wedding pictures than I did in mine. I hate almost all of my wedding pictures so it's kind of like a do over and I'm determined to look amazing. Already shopping for a dress and they haven't even set a date beyond "summer probably".6

I am tired of people asking me if I am pregnant, when the baby is due, and do I know what I am having. I am not pregnant. I just have a gut. I want that guy gone! It is mortifying every single time it happens. 😔15

Oh man this x10. I used to work at a psych hospital and this patient asked me if I was pregnant. It's funny in retrospect. I couldn't get upset either since he was severely mentally ill and had 0.000 of a filter. But sheesh, question was unexpected!

I want to look good naked and be hot arm candy for my bf. Theres another reason that REALLY motivated me to start working out again, but I'll keep that to myself lol.6

Mine is to make hubby jealous and eat his words (already working). We've been together almost 13 years but he's been a bit rude about my weight gain on some occasions since I put on weight 8 years ago and couldn't get a significant amount off and keep it off until this year.
To show some of my colleagues who have only known me obese who I 'really am'. To show the ones who knew me before that I hadn't given up on myself and that I've got my sexy back.
I also wanted to return from maternity leave back in May with confidence and it's been great getting compliments from those brave or candid enough to mention my weight loss and getting the wide eyed looks from those who aren't. I've still got a way to go and have found the comments motivational.
I was mainly inspired by my third baby who is a very lively and strong willed boy. I turned 40 four months after having him last June and I want to be strong and fit to be able to keep up with him and my 7 year old throughout their childhood and teenage years (plus I promised myself I'd be fit at 40).
Major petty reason is to be able to wear nice clothes and to turn heads again. This has been a long time coming and I've worn frumpy clothes for long enough! I'm looking forward to cute autumn/winter looks, not just being relieved that I can cover up in coats again16 -
I want to be that sassy girl wearing Oliver Bonas and ridiculous heels tottering around with a glass of prosecco balanced between my perfectly manicured fingers, handsome man with his hand in the small of my back16
-
I don't want to be the one who goes back to her hometown and when people see me they think about how much weight I've gained since high school twenty years ago.8
