Hello everyone! Iβm back at it after a year off (got pregnant and baby is now 3 months old!). These 10 day challenges were the only way I lost my baby weight last time, and itβs time to get back at it!!

8/28 Tuesday-196 π± I feel gross and need to really do something about it. We are taking the kids to Hawaii in less than 6 weeks and I want to feel better. I have been reading about IF and Iβm going to give it a shot.
8/29 Wednesday-194.3 Fasted 16 hours after only 8 hrs of eating. Felt hungry by breakfast but I can do this. Decided to sign up for the gym that is 100 yards from my daughters dance studio. If I need to be there for an hour twice a week, I have no excuse not to get some cardio in. The gym was crowded and there are lots of big guys at the weights. I think Iβll stick to cardio and look into the classes.
8/30 Thursday-193.6 Already hit goal this week. Only fasted 15 hours due to a breakfast meeting but will cut it off as early as possible today. Plan on hitting the gym while my daughter is in ballet.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/26 154.8 Impromptu much needed date night last night, adult beverages and fried appetizers but so worth it. Last round was difficult, although I did pull it together at the end. My plan for this next 10 days is to continue my 5/7 days of exercise, log everything (some nights when I go off the rails I don't log) and get to152 for this round. My weight loss has slowed, but that is a direct result of my actions. Just remembering its a long game, not a sprint, and slow loss is still good because it is giving me more time to truly ingrain the habits and the lifestyle that will make this loss sustainable for the long haul.
8/27 WEIGH IN DAY 155.2 Hmmm...Too much snacking and not enough moving. Ate at maintenance yesterday. Today is Monday, a new week. I have had 2 rounds of stagnancy, this means that if I get a hold of my sticktoitiveness I can reach my 152.xx goal without much crying!
Time to refocus on why I am doing this.
1. I want to feel good about my body
2. Hard is good.
3. I like to work towards a goal.
4. I am setting an example for my family
5. This is the only body I get, and I want to take care of it
6. I really want to reach my goal and take an impromptu trip to Maui as a reward! (...though I may not be able to leave my puppy...he's so attached to me and I to him!)
8/28 154.2 Good day yesterday eating, walking, and overall. Just piping in that it really helps me to read everyone's successes and challenges. We seem to go in waves...
8/29 154.8 It appears I am stuck hovering here since the beginning of round 50. I know I have not been as diligent as when I started the challenge at keeping my calories low, but I have not gone over excessively. My weight did hold here at 155-157 for several years, so maybe it's my comfort weight? Slightly chubby but not too bad? I know I need to step up the exercise so I can see inch results, and I have to a degree, but have been putting off the next level. I will take measurements later and see if there is any change there since my weight loss has slowed to .5 lb a week.
8/30 154.2 Good walk, hills, eating within range. Really hoping to see a bigger drop soon...bbq Saturday at my house with lots of food, stressful for me must remember to stay calm and not stuff my face.

8/26 - Out of town.
8/27 - 147. I missed the end of the last round since I was out of town for a long weekend. We walked everywhere and I even made it to the hotel gym. We also went on a guided food tour. Even before the trip, I had a round of no scale movement. I like what I'm doing this time. It feels sustainable and I hope that I can get to a healthy weight doing it. I'm going to go one more round without changing my program and see if the scale starts to move again. If not, I'll reevaluate for September. Even though the scale isn't moving, I feel stronger, healthier and just a little bit firmer.
8/28 - 146. Yay!
8/29 - 146. I got 146, 145 and 147 from the scale this morning with three consecutive weighings. Maybe my trusty old mechanical scale isn't so trusty anymore. But I kind of have a soft spot for it, I've had it since I was 19!
8/30 - 146. I'll take it. I've been having a little problem with cheesy crackers... Lots of cheesy crackers. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I bought a Costco-sized package of them and we've been spending a little too much time together. Challenge for today: Eat no cheesy crackers!

@iamworthy14 @jerier Me too! Love a bit of comforting, sugary treats after a stressful day.
However, today, after a pretty bad afternoon at work, I resisted complete mindless snacking and just had one snack within calories and a tea - NSV!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

8/26- 157.2lbs when I stepped on the scale I was shocked to see this number. Yesterday was a tough day for me my 7month old daughter was extremely fussy all day. Would not take a nap for longer then 10mins, refusing her bottles, & crying non stop. The beauty of teething. & because of that I stress ate. Healthy snacks yes but way more than I should have. I was expecting to be back in the 60s after yesterday. So very please about this number. I plan on having a better day. I did take a very long walk yesterday so maybe thatβs why the loss.
8/27- 157.4lbs totally expected this I been kinda sabotaging myself with my snacking. Iβm going to try my best not not snack today because once I do I canβt stop.

Under my calorie goal for the day. I really need to work on eating while I'm at work! Sometimes it's so easy just to forget to eat. So I finish work and I'm really hungry! Took the stairs when I came home today. I really can't do much activity because my body always aches, but I hope that I'll be able to soon!
8/27 - 349.8 (-1.8)
really, really happy that a loss finally showed on the scales! It likes to fluctuate, and I know the weight is not the be-all and end-all of this....but I am so relieved that I could *see* a result.
Another good day food-wise. My body is totally aching still, so not much physical activity. Hopefully when the weather finally cools down, I can go for walks and things!
8/28 - 348.2lb (-1.6lb/ -3.4lb total)
another good result on the scales and very surprised!
went to an all you can eat sushi place and tracked everything and didn't overeat! My wife had a birthday party and i stayed clear of the cakes and treats, having a nice supper now and feeling very positive- 2 weeks fully on plan and not fallen once!
8/29 - no weigh in
I really need to be more prepared when I'm working earlier. I don't eat much at work- it's really hard to force myself to eat! That's what I'm going to work on tomorrow! I might be less likely to want to eat later at night if I've had 3 square meals before 10pm!
But still stayed under calories for the day. Hoping for an early night so I am less groggy and sluggish!
8/30 - no weigh in
Today I didn't prep lunch and didn't eat anything at work! Not really the best thing to do. But at least I dodged the pizza and homemade cheesecake that was there! Did have that early night last night- was in bed by 10 and had a little bit of awake time at 5am...but other than that, a good sleep (got up at 8am) I'm still sluggish. Tomorrow I'm off work but going food shopping with the wife (she drives, I don't and she's going away for a few days so I have to be stocked up!)
Got my shopping list at the ready and looking forward to trying some new recipes! It's been really hard not weighing myself, but I found myself in the first 3 days of this challenge getting really obsessive about the scales!

Round 1
8/26 - 73.4kg
8/27 - 73.0kg -- Yesterday I actually was more committed thinking about this group. every time I wanted to "cheat" I remembered that I'll be logging my weight in the morning and that these 10 days might not show a minus if I do so. It worked, I stayed out of the fridge.
8/28 - 72.6kg -- I swear that this is the first time in forever I see the scale going down.woo! It must be this challenge! I'm really mindful of what I'm doing/eating knowing that I'll be reporting on it. Tonight I have the gym, curious to see how that affects things. Ideally, I'd love to lose 1kg (2lbs) every challenge. Not sure if that's possible, but I'll try! This is an awesome group. Keep rocking, ladies, and gents. We can do this.
8/29 - 71.8 kg - Wooo! probably just losing water or something but I'll take it. I was on my cal goal and went to the gym, so pretty good day. It's summer here so navigating weekends here is the most difficult part. Beer, icecreams and a bunch of other no-nos everywhere. But hey, it's "just 10 days", right? It really helps me to chunk this down and think in those terms. I'm trying to learn not to use the food as an award, so here's mine: At the end of the challenge purchase new fitness clothes as a reward.
8/30 - 71.7 kg - Last night I had 2 beers, but I skipped dinner. Not very healthy but I wasn't really hungry and I was going out with my friends. I don't want to be enslaved by MFP or weight loss, we still need to live in the process. Anyways, good to see this. If I end this Round on 71, I'll be happy. Tonight I have the gym, so yay there! Maybe we see a small drop tomorrow. Still loving this challenge, and already know I'll be doing the next one too.
8/31 - 71.3kg - Yesterday was such a busy day that I didn't even have time to eat at work, although I brought food! Wasn't hungry, either. Gym sessions was fabu, having another one tonight. For 2 more weeks I'll be going 3x/week and then I'm shifting to 5x/week. A friend inspired me: when I told her "I don't have time to go to the gym" she said "then there's something very wrong with your business and life priorities if you don't have 1h per day for yourself and your health". How very true!

25/08: 166.8 : Goals β ππ β Goal Achieved! It's so good to be in a lower decade. My round means are on a downward trend. Roll on Round 51
Round 51 GW: <166.8
26/08: 167.1 : Goals β This seems to happen ever time I have a whoosh. At least my mean weight is steadily decreasing each round.
27/08: 167.4 : Goals β weekend bounce! Too many carbs! I must find a way to avoid this for the next month!
28/08: 166.6 : Goals β I'm gonna wait and see if this sticks before I jump up and down!
29/08: 166.8 : Goals β
30/08: 166.5 : Goals β
31/08: 166.7 : Goals β This is part of the pattern I have noticed. A small whoosh, a bounce up, small daily fluctuations, another small whoosh, etc, etc, etc. The trend continues downward so learning to be less focused on the daily figure, and concentrating on the big picture.
Slightly over 60lbs discarded (not 'lost'. I ain't looking to get them back!); 12lbs to go to goal weight.
