Probably I didn't have enough water, I know that my weight is higher.
9/08 - 86.7 kg (191.1 lbs)
OK (Deep breath). Yeah, that's the number, I've not seen this much for a long time. I upset myself. I ate a veggie burger and drink beer and wine yesterday. Social drinking and eating... Actually most of the days I'm ok until evening. But after evening, I ate pizza, burger, pasta and drink alcohol etc. I should find something healthy in the evening. And also yesterday afternoon I binged because I don't feel good. However I went to the gym in the morning before breakfast, I think it's good.
9/09 - 86.1 kg (189.8 lbs)
Yesterday was also good until evening, but I drank alcohol again. Food is not bad. But alcohol has so many calories. However, I walked 15K steps. But also, yesterday night I got sick and lost so much water. I'm still not sure which one is my true weight.

Hot day coming up here, but beautiful and clear. It will be cold soon enough, so I'm enjoying the sun and heat. I put together a bag of clothes that no longer fit (and a few things that no longer make me happy) and I'll be taking those to a local women's shelter today or tomorrow. All good!

There's the bump I expected yesterday from Monday's splurge. My moving average is 141.2. All good.

I'm excited to see that zero, even with a big decimal! Going to a potluck this evening but we're taking a shrimp plate, so at least I can eat that. Have a great weekend, all!
9/08 - 141 - 1185 - 10-day ave 1218
I made a stab at entering calories from the potluck. Happily, there was plenty of food I could eat (I was afraid I'd get 2 pieces of shrimp and a few baby carrots!). But no, I was quite full by the end. I'm making the most of the weekend as things get crazy this week - teaching a new writing class, taking a new class, integrative doctor & dietitian appointments, on top of usual work (writing). I'm still debating buying a standing desk -- anyone here use one? I may just take my laptop to Office Depot and ask if I can stand there and type for a while to see if I like it.

I see this last pound is going to be tough to lose. That's ok - I'm just as stubborn.

9/06- nice! Got a 200 on the scale this morning. 🤗 I felt lighter, knew it was going to show. Keeping tabs about what is going into my mouth is already making an impact.
9/07 - 200 again. I’ll take it! Ate a few late night sweet and salty snacks... stress eating is a major problem of mine.
9/08 - 200.5 I didn’t track my exact food intake but was being aware of what I was eating... I guess that wasn’t enough. Back to tracking!

9/05 - 154 - The scale actually flashed at 154.5, then it went to 153.5 three times, so I went with an average. I realized after I posted yesterday that I started this challenge 120 days ago. I've lost 20 pounds since starting this challenge and received a lot of good advice from reading comments. I don't know if I would have stuck with this weight loss without all the support and empathy from this group. Thank you to all!
9/06 - 152.5 - Well, there's a little whoosh!
9/07 - 152.5 - I'm really surprised I didn't have a little bounce back. I'll take it.
9/08 - 153.5 - I had a late and salty dinner last night and then I woke up very early. We also ended up eating at a burger place tonight due to some crazy errands. I've stayed within weight loss calories, but I'm expecting another bump up tomorrow.
9/09 - 152 - We started remodeling our bathroom, so I had to move my scale to a different room. I think I'll keep it there! I'm not sure how accurate this is, but it's OK with me.

•9/5 - 182.8 - Gee, I thought I had posted this. My son called me for some reassurance concerning my DGD early this morning. He wasn't sure that she would be able to find her classroom. Kindergarten classes are at the very back end of the school. Parents cannot enter the school with the children. First child in elementary school parent jitters. His baby. Not quite 100 ozs of water yesterday, which is MUCH better than the last 4 or 5 days. I have a couple of homegrown cucumbers from a friend. I added some thin slices to my lemon water. I'm shedding water like crazy.

I am a 49 year old 5'4" woman. I will be 50 by the time this round ends though. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for one round.

Day/Weight/Comment
9/05--218.4 Did some extra snacking yesterday evening. I think it was because I was feeling tired due to a restless dog during the night before. Now I know that being tired is a trigger to my snacking I will plan for next time. Still showing a downward trend. Yoga tonight.
9/06--218.2 I want to get back into doing C25K tonight. Between the excessive heat and bad air over the last couple of weeks I haven't done any running since July 1st and I really want to do a 5k this fall. So tonight I am going to take the dog out for a little running and walking.
9/07--218.4 Up and down and up again; however, I am weighing in less then my average weight last round. Yesterday evening I went out and did W3D1 of C25K even though I didn't want to, but then I remembered that I had posted here that I would do it. So guilt from internet strangers made me go out for my run...whatever works
9/08--218.2 Did some evening snacking that took me way over my calories...stress from work, but I'm now over that. Was looking over my diary and noticed that I am getting very little fiber and I can feel it. Today is Zumba, plan for some ways to slowly increase fiber in my diet, and make sure I get my water in.
9/09--218.2 Zumba was great yesterday and then I spent way too much time at IKEA. In-laws are coming over today, so we will be going out for lunch so I need to plan. Plan today is (1) go out for W3D2 of C25K this morning, (2) eat a lighter calorie breakfast, (3) drink only water at lunch, (4) take home lunch leftovers, and (5) assuming rain holds up, go for a walk later in the evening. Here I go!

Hi Stacey!
One thing that is working for me this time (many gain/loss periods in my life!) is not to "cheat". That means to eat what I want and just be aware, log it, and move on. Not letting what I eat make me feel guilty, because guilt, or cheating, means I blew it, and then I would either throw in the towel or continue the binge. I am learning slowly but surely that I can eat what I used to have on my "cheat list" or "when I reach goal I will eat that oreo or ice cream or fried chicken" and just log it. Many times it is in my calorie goal if I just log it and eat consciously. Sometimes I go way over one day, but I get back on track the next or so and remember the big picture, its the rest of my life. So if that "cheat" was in your calories for the day, or even for the week, that's amazing and good! Food is not good or bad, though for sure it can make us feel that way. Hope this helps!!!
It's a journey, not just a goal, and this group is so perfectly supportive, welcome!

9/5 151.2 What's working:
*Eating what I want, but consciously.
*Letting go of guilt.
*Staying active doing things I like instead of calling it "exercise"
*Focusing on myself instead of what needs to change outside of me
*Logging in here daily
*Realizing we are all the same, just doing the best we can with the tools we have
*Skipping meals- just because it's "lunch time" etc. doesn't mean I have to eat. Listening to my body.
9/6 151 I feel like something has shifted, and this is getting easier. NSV- finally got back out on my mountain bike yesterday for a nice hilly ride, taught my 16 yo son a new recipe that he cooked for dinner for the fam, got my DH out on the bike too. I can't wait to see the 140's and they are within reach!!!
9/7 152.2 Not worried about this I feel great! Another hilly ride, cooking with my son, and walked the dogs! Gearing up for a great weekend, seeing the grandbabies again tomorrow. Have a wonderful day everyone!
9/8 151.4 I had a good day yesterday, FINALLY getting my DH moving with me! It is so much easier when we are both working together, but I have learned to lead by example and not nag, suggest, hint, or ask him to get active/eat better/etc. This is the part about "focusing on myself instead of what needs to change outside of me". When I am taking better care of myself I want everyone around me to also do the same, but I know that everyone has their own limits and timelines and needs to come to their own conclusions. I cannot make someone motivated, but maybe instead inspire them by taking better care of myself. We went on a morning walk, not my usual hilly fast burn since he was with me, but I am happy to pull it back and slow my progress if it means he will come along! I spent the afternoon with my sis helping her prepare for her big annual Tapas party, peeling potatoes for patatas bravas, making albondigas, chopping fruit for sangria...great girl talk and wonderful to cook together since we never do! Today is the party, my plan is to have a protein breakfast then to fast (as difficult as that may be with all the yummy food) I think it is the safest plan to eliminate the stress eating and weight gain that will show up if I do otherwise! Got home from a busy day and my 16yo son was learning to make beef stroganoff with my DH, overall a win win day!
9/9 152.4 My plan to fast gained an "e" and turned into a Feast. There were just too many hours at my sis's (noon-10 pm) and too much amazing Spanish food to stick to the original plan. I had a great day, held my grandbabies for a good long spell and got those baby love feelings going! Didn't drink enough H2O so today my focus is on hydration, going for a walk, and self care. Yesterday took 2 walks before the party, and reached an all time high of over 20k steps, so that is a win! Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in, looking for a drop below last week's 151.8, could be a stretch, but I am eating smart today, so lets make this happen, body of mine!

Round 52 (#16)
I typically don't set goals because I find myself sabotaging them. Stupid, I know, but it's true. Challenge goal:Stop binge eating my trigger foods which are too numerous to list.#37: 142.6 - 137.4 = -5.2

9/05: 134.8, late dinner
9/06: 137.0, dinner date with too much alcohol and food
9/07: 137.0, drank 32 oz water at the end of the day. I was exhausted all day so I didn’t do a thing. Just tidied up the house and took care of 2 loads of laundry.
9/08: 133.8, there goes the the bloat. Macros were off, stayed within my deficit, 60 oz of water. Now to lose the last 14 lbs.
9/09: 132.4, looks like a genuine whoosh. What I’ve changed the past 2 days - main meal 3:30pm meal break at work with a light snack after I get home, 9:30 - 10:00pm and more water.12 -

I’M BACK!!! I sure did miss my morning logins. Here is my one time super long catch up post. I stayed in nutritional ketosis the whole trip, ate some carbs but with the exception of the warm baguette the first night, they just didn’t taste good. Carnival makes some excellent NSA desserts. Lots of walking in the various ports and we had exceptional weather for Alaska at this time of year.

9/07 - 251.4...125 oz of water, under calories by 7 and 25 min. walk. Drank extra water in an attempt to try and fill myself up because I was craving junk. Was able to stay away from the cake and cheesecake but ate a chocolate bar. Normally I would have broken down and eaten all of it.
9/08 - 252.4...66 oz of water, extremely over calories and a 60 min. walk. Yesterday was a planned off day, I still need them once a week or I would probably give up on everything. As time goes and I lose more I'm hoping to cut them back. On track again today though.

@deepwoodslady thank you very much. Yes it does feel great and sort of surreal.. I never actually had the confidence that I was capable of accomplishing it, especially in a shorter amount of time then I expected. I never thought exercise and me would ever be a good fit but now I love it and can't see a day where I don't want to do it.
Keep it up!! You will be there in no time, just stay persistent and don't give up!! Also always remember be kinder to yourself if you feel discouraged. Be greatful for what you have accomplished, not regretful for what you haven't. Mentality is everything..the difference between sticking to it and breaking it 😃😃5 -

9/5 / 221.8 / I'm a bit sore today and this is an early weigh in so the bump in weight is completely expected. I think this is going to be a sweet round. I hope everyone is feeling as optimistic as I am!
9/6 /221.8 / Second verse, same as the first! I was HUNGRY last night, but I was able to stay within calories and didn't gnaw on anybody.
9/7 / 220.2 / Early weigh in, so this is excellent progress. Got some terrible news yesterday that I'm still trying to process.
9/8 / 220 / That puts me at an even 32 pounds lost. I actually have ribs. Who knew?
9/9 / 220.2 / I did crunches yesterday. Not all forms of exercise make me get a bump up in weight, but crunches do. I find that really interesting. I'm planning on doing lots of crunches in the coming days, so I expect some variability in weight. Of course, I also ate over calories because of movie theater popcorn yesterday, so I'm not sure why I'm singling out crunches!10 -

9/05 -- 160.8 slowly coming on down. I don't usually eat after 7 but last night was a super late dinner at 11. I got in 150 min of exercise, which means I was up till 1 30 😥😥😥 and drank 1.5 liters of water. Hope everyone else has a good hump day!!
9/06-- 160.2 worked out for 90 min yesterday, drank 1.5 liters and stayed under my calories. I usually stop eating after 7 (8 the latest) but last night I had a craving for munchies, so ended up having a couple of mini crispys and a mini chocolate bar at 8:30. Buuuuuuut the NSV is I only ate one mini chocolate and stuck to 24 crispys (they are the rice cake kind) where before I would have over indulged on both until there was nothing left.
9/07--160.2 worked out for an hour, drank 1.5 liters and ate under my calories. I think I have officially hit my plateau. This week I haven't been the best with getting breakfast in. I have been so motivated and consumed with exercising that I have missed breakfast and lunch all week and only have been eating dinner. I have tried planning out my meals for the week to stop this but that didn't work out too good. I already know OMAD doesn't work for me and on top of it, after dinner I tend to get the munchies if I don't eat all day. Like the night before I ate some chips and chocolate and last night I ate four turtles after dinner. Of course it was all still in moderation and I didn't go over but I don't like when I get mindless cravings. I have no problem with having a treat here and there but having junk be my go to when I'm still hungry isn't ideal. So this morning after weighing in, I ate. I will see how this goes.
9/08-- 159.6 WHAT WHAT WHAT??? yesterday I caved and ended up eating a crazy amount of chocolate, although I still stayed under my calories, it obviously wasn't the healthiest day. I did exercise, even if it wasn't as much as usual and I walked. I drank 1 liter of water. It is so weird that I usually work out like crazy, eat well and get the majority of my water in but ended up plateauing for a little over a week, then the day I didn't do as well and I ended up pushing under the mark. I am a little sceptical, I will wait to see if this doesn't change by tomorrow before I get too excited. But I am hoping this is it.... me in the 50s 😃😃😃 I am going to watch closely though, third day eating chocolate.... don't want this to turn into a thing
9/09-- 159.4 so I guess I have settled here 😄😄 yesterday was my MILs bday but I made sure to drink water and order the healthier options, a big NSV for me. I used to think going out meant I didn't have to stick to my healthy eating and was a good time for a break but it went great . Ate within my calories, drank 2 liters of water and took extra long walks. So far this weekend has been going great.

Round 52 (My 6th round)
9/05 160 went over on calories yesterday and had a late dinner.
9/06 160 So often I feed the kiddos and get busy with household duties, put them to bed and realize I haven't eaten dinner (and then it's late). We used to all sit down and eat together, but since the new baby it's hard to do sometimes. Going to work on that. I always enjoyed sitting down as a family at dinner time. It'll also help that I'm not eating so late as well.
9/07 159 I was sooo happy to see this number this morning! Yesterday I did great with my water (90 oz/2.66 liters), I have been forgetting to drink it so haven't gotten as much as I should lately. Under on calories, only had half my daily sugar and around 90 carbs.
9/08 159.5 Good day yesterday but ate a little late last night. Today is game day, so there will be finger foods. Hopefully I'll stay in my calorie range.
9/09 159 I did eat finger foods yesterday for the game, but didn't over indulge. Actually was full after what I ate, even though it wasnt very much. 😊

If I can stick with it, it's going to be a long journey, so my whole goal for this round is really to log in each day and write down what I'm eating. I have a plan for food and exercise, and I'm going to try to stick to it, but I'm just trying to get started, so the goal is just to pay attention every day.
