It's water. The body isn't able to metabolize calories into measurable fat loss or gain that quickly. Actual weight/fat loss or gain is measurable as a trend over time.4 -

9/05, 226, Pretty sure I didn't lose 3 lbs overnight. I'm probably dehydrated.
9/06, 225, Yeah, this must be water weight. 4 lbs in 2 days is nonsense.
9/07, 225, Well ok then.
9/08, 225, Surprised cause I've been eating junk at FanX.
9/09, 225, Still surprised, but this is cool I guess.
9/10, 226, Pizza and wine last night. Foolish.
9/11, 230, Period started, hello bloat! I've also been eating junk, gotta rein it in.
9/12, 227, My weight is everywhere this week. Ate a lot better yesterday though.
9/13, 226, Ate better yesterday. Let's just stay right here to end this round right!
9/14, 226, All right! Below my goal for the last 10 days!
Round 52 GW = 227
Round 52 EW = 22611 -
First round for me. Started with Fitbit at 167..just joined MFP and so close to my first goal of 130 hoping you guys can help push me!
9/05: 135.1
9/06: 133.6 (1.5 down) expecting to gain tomorrow meal prep changed and I didn't eat enough
9/07: 133.6 (same) shocked I stayed the same. I ate over my calories including late night ice cream.
9/08: 133.5 I've been working hard and back on track calorie counting!
9/09: 134.3 gained and not surprised. was my splurge day yesterday and are Imos and ate late. i controlled myself and didn't go crazy so not too bad considering!
9/10: 134.5 gained and surprised. I did drink a lot of coffee calories but was under my goal intake 🤔😥
9/11: 134.0 discouraged! did really well yesterday 😑
9/12: 133.6 😁
9/13: 133.8 under calories but ate late 😑
9/14: 133.2 😄 under calories but just wasnt hungry. hoping it's not ruined if I eat today. I ended down 1.9lbs I'll take it!12 -
@iamworthy14 and @heymossy Your gain is more likely related to what you ate 2-3 days prior.
@AJB1014 I think you know the solution but don’t realize it. You were still hungry so you ate more but DIDN’T GET ENOUGH WATER. Next time drink a glass of water. We often THINK we are hungry when we are only thirsty. Drink, drink, drink!

9/07 - 178.6 A good day yesterday. NSV= Tried on a pair of pants with a button. I have been wearing elastic waist for 16 years since 2002. This was a size 14. They fit! They fit! I am in shock and disbelief! Suddenly I feel slimmer. Even Younger! 9/08 - 177.6 Oh Glorious Day! I’m back! But today will be a challenge as I will be away on an out-of-town trip where restaurants are abundant. Little old Rural Area Woman finds new dining experiences each time that others may take for granted. YESTERDAY’S STATS: 19 Net Carbs. 1254 Calories In / 2938 Calories Out. 15,392 total steps. 6.51 total miles. 13/13 (250) steps hours. 4 hours 43 minutes of sleep. Intermittent fasted 16:8. Walked 1.5 miles briskly in neighborhood. I pray I can contain my cheating to one good meal today and not turn it into a complete binge. Fingers crossed.

Intermittent Fasted 16:8. Performed 21 minutes of aerobic freestyle dancing burning 130 calories. Did some simple isometrics and stretches.
9/11 - 176.4 YESTERDAY’S STATS: 11 Net Carbs. 1000 Calories In / 2724 Calories Out. 12,895 total steps. 5.49 total miles. 13/13 (250) step hours. 5 hours 13 minutes of sleep. Intermittent Fasted 16:8. Walked 1.5 miles briskly. The road worth travelling is not always an easy one, but I just stay focused on the “worth travelling” part. It gets me through the rest of it.
9/12 - 176.4 YESTERDAY’S STATS: 15 Net Carbs. 1229 Calories In / 2468 Calories Out. 10,406 total steps. 4.4 total miles. 13/13 (250) step hours. 4 hours 4 minutes of sleep. Up earlier than usual due to travel time. Intermittent Fasted 16:8. Walked my 1.5 mile neighborhood with son and friends. Also did 17 minutes of aerobic dancing hitting peak during most of it.
9/13 - 179.8 I know I did not eat enough calories to gain 3 ½ pounds overnight so I am guessing some of this is water weight. Out of town Chinese food again. It is my weakness because it is not available within 80 miles of my home so it’s often my choice when I travel. Sodium….Sodium. I will be drinking lots of lemon water today (as Tish @birdie56 recommends). I hope the scale will not be too bad at tomorrow’s final weigh in.
9/14 - 179.0 I did not make goal due to the 3.4 pound overnight gain Wed/Thur. However, I am down 0.6 from the start so thankfully I am still on the downward trend. Stayed excellent in my plan yesterday. However, movement was restricted due to catch-up paperwork which always happens after a traveling day off. I am looking forward to round 53 where I will continue to work on better control during my frequent out-of-town excursions which tend to turn into all night binges. Ending on a positive note, I want to share how completely proud I am of all the changes I have made on the homefront these past few months. 90% of my time is spent doing weekly meal preps, making proper shopping lists, eating healthy foods, making good choices for my body overall, and incorporating exercise and it has all paid off. Home is my safety zone because it is so organized to my plan. One of my goals continues to be learning the ability to see food as fuel and make those good choices everywhere I go. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!

•9/5 - 182.8 - Gee, I thought I had posted this. My son called me for some reassurance concerning my DGD early this morning. He wasn't sure that she would be able to find her classroom. Kindergarten classes are at the very back end of the school. Parents cannot enter the school with the children. First child in elementary school parent jitters. His baby. Not quite 100 ozs of water yesterday, which is MUCH better than the last 4 or 5 days. I have a couple of homegrown cucumbers from a friend. I added some thin slices to my lemon water. I'm shedding water like crazy.
•9/6 - 181.8 - more cucumber today
•9/7 - 181.6
•9/8 - 180.4
•9/9 - 181.8 and 182.4 - concurrent increment battle? Lol. 180's do not want to let me go.
•9/10 - 180.8 - Here I go. I expect a little more back and forth before the next decade comes in.
•9/11 - 181.8
•9/12 - 182 - I feel waterlogged and tired. I need electrolytes to balance this body fluid. I don't think I've had any for a week :dissapointed: and I need them every day.
•9/13 - 182.6
•9/14 - 180.8 - A 2 lb loss for the round. Headache this morning.

9/11 202.2 Didn’t take as big of hit as I thought. Must be all the exercise I did on the weekend helped cover for that bag of M&M’s. I still can lose weight before this round is over. Did a really good job yesterday watching what I ate so there is hope... I do think this round won't see onederland.
9/12 200.6 Been really watching what I eat the last few days. It’s paying off. Getting very excited!!!!!!
9/13 200.2 So close. Can I end the round under 200. fingers crossed.

Round 52 (My 6th round)
9/05 160 went over on calories yesterday and had a late dinner.
9/06 160 So often I feed the kiddos and get busy with household duties, put them to bed and realize I haven't eaten dinner (and then it's late). We used to all sit down and eat together, but since the new baby it's hard to do sometimes. Going to work on that. I always enjoyed sitting down as a family at dinner time. It'll also help that I'm not eating so late as well.
9/07 159 I was sooo happy to see this number this morning! Yesterday I did great with my water (90 oz/2.66 liters), I have been forgetting to drink it so haven't gotten as much as I should lately. Under on calories, only had half my daily sugar and around 90 carbs.
9/08 159.5 Good day yesterday but ate a little late last night. Today is game day, so there will be finger foods. Hopefully I'll stay in my calorie range.
9/09 159 I did eat finger foods yesterday for the game, but didn't over indulge. Actually was full after what I ate, even though it wasnt very much. 😊
9/10 158.5 😊 stayed under yesterday and was a very low carb/sugar day. I have been aiming to do some type of exercise each day (I don't count housework because I'm constantly doing it with 3 kids, 4 if you count Hubby 😂). Didn't get any exercise in and felt guilty about it, but I know I shouldn't because I have been almost every day.
9/11 158 Another good day staying under, although ate pasta for dinner. Haven't had pasta in a long time. Only had a serving but felt like I was retaining fluid last night, especially in my hands. Drank a lot of water last night so feeling better this morning!
9/12 158 yesterday was a little tough because I was hungry all day. Stayed under though and got through it.
9/13 158 very high carb day yesterday. Going to do better today!
9/14 157.5 I'm so proud 😊 .5 away from my goal this round but it's ok! I think expecting 3 lbs is too much a round since I've already had great results. Ready for round 53! Each of you are doing amazing and you're all an inspiration to me💗9 -
@kdv12, congratulations on your 1.3 loss this round...Round 53, onewonderland is waiting for you,4

@MadisonMolly2017, Congrats on your new low weight!
@AJB1014, {{{hugs}}} You've come too far to talk like this. The stress of your move, the physical exertion, first the joy and then the thought of I own a house now, on the job stress, etc., etc. etc. It's a lot. If you are hungry, eat well, up to your maintenance calories, limit bread carbs. You may only need to increase food intake for a few days. Limiting calories is a physical stressor also and will work against you at times like these. I'm going through my own stress right now. Just reading about someone else's stress, stresses me out or makes it worse. Some days I just give in to higher calories, as long as I'm eating well. I feel much better for doing it. Pretty soon things will settle down and so will you and I. Nuts, nut butters and plenty of vegetables help me to cope. Walking too, without distractions, just being in the moment.
Here is a link to some stress managing foods:

Tish, you're an angel! I needed to hear this. Some great info here to use. Funny, this morning I basically had this same chat with myself - I HAVE come so far and I am proud! So why get burnt out now when I can just take a little reset. It's self care, not giving in! I love the stress managing foods resource. I've been going right for the guacamole the past few days! I used to have a small serving of granola before bed - it did actually help me sleep so thanks for the reminder!8 -

@OncologyChick Enjoy your holiday! See you next month!
@tinkerbellang83 Love the infographic!
@fraukazi WOW! What a weekend you are going to have! Enjoy dancing at the wedding! Don’t stress over the proposal. You’ve got this!
@SheilaBoneham Wow, the elimination diet is much harder than keto, in my opinion. Corn and soy by products are hidden in every ingredient list, it seems. Clean eating for sure!
@denswrex POPCORN (with lots of butter!) Yum!! Haven’t had any in sooo long! What Hell hath comfort foods wrought? LOL
@jerier I get it 100%! My husband was diagnosed with MCS/EI back in 1992 when people didn’t believe in it because there wasn’t a specific test to prove it. He eventually got a medical disability after seeing over a dozen doctors in a year. The last one was a psychiatrist who said it was all in his head. He had to visit him annually for 10 years! He still has issues - horrible headaches, shaking hands and stuttering when it gets really bad. We avoid all fragrances when we can but some things affect him that we can’t smell. It’s tough. Prayers to you!2 -

I still didnt find my scale last night!!!! It's been a kind of rough morning so far. Exhaustion both mentally and physically is catching up to me. Need to do some self care over the next few days.
9/06 - Thursday - 183.5 - Busy night last night. Worked on the in-law, cleaned drained and refilled hot tub, cooked dinner and slept over there because it was too hot. But I stayed up too late watching movies cause it was like being on vacation. Ooops. Another busy day today - work is stressing me out. Trying to stay mindful and centered despite it all.
9/07 - Friday - 182.5 - WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! Short term goal #2 HELLO!!! On my way to overwight BMI all the way from obese class 2!!! And it's Friday. I'm going to revel in today's positives and push the negative to the side!!!
9/08 - Saturday - 182.5 - I was in such a mood last night. Let myself get too hungry and it was all downhill fro there. Rallied for friends dinner and the night turned out okay. Moved last things today, final wlak thru at apartment tomorrow. I need a nap. But planning to go to the fair tonight and i might not log...nah I'll log it and move on! Excited to do something fun after all this hard work!
9/09 - Sunday - 183.0 - I logged fair food as best I could. I also didnt go totally nuts eating wise so that was a win. Definitely enjoyed myself though. Went to dog festival today and ate some vegan spring rolls and then a huge sandwich on the way home. So worth it. Cooked dinner at home, pizza grilled cheese and tomato soup. Almost ordered out - gosh it snowballs so fast when I eat comfort foods I just want more! Glad I found something comfort foodish with food I had in the house cause the calories werent bothering me by the end of the weekend the cash was!
9/10 - Monday - 184.0 - Really not so bad considering! Have not drank enough water today and have a salty meal planned for dinner - but it is what it is and I'm feeling good. I REALLY need to start drinking my protein shake at some point in the day again and get better with taking my meds and start taking fish oil again. Those little habits make a big difference!
9/11 - Tuesday - 184.5 - Not surprising - not letting it get me down! Drank protein shake for breakfast and took my fish oil! Doing my best to drink lots of water today. Feeling positive that the upward trend stops today and I'm back on track! Pre logging dinner to see where I'm at for the day.
9/12 - Wednesday - 183.0 - Yay! Yesterday was the suck. Everything I touched turned to crap. Work was brutal. Got home and the washing machine started acting up. Ate dinner, tried to relax, ended up eating an entire chocolate bar. Figured I'd call the appliance repair place today, they are closed. BUT that crappy day did make me very grateful for all that I have and the people I have to lean on. And it was a good reminder that no matter what happens today, tomorrow is a new day to kick butt!
9/13 - Thursday 183.5 - Now to have it stick around til tomorrow. Questionable. It's been another hellish day. I ate wendys yesterday after I finsished my lunch because I was still hungry. Still around maintenance for the day - but I've been really hungry the past few days so trying to keep it somewhat under control while still listening to my body. Have not drank enough water so still working on that. Meh, this round is the first one since I've started that I've felt my commitment wavering a bit. Well, maybe not even commitment just motivation. And my usual back up plans have not been established in my new routine. So I'm feeling glum about everything. This too shall pass.
9/14 - Friday - 183.5 - 2 Lbs this round! Met my goal! Planning on taking a little self care reset break and eating around maintenance for a few days. Negative thoughts have been creeping in lately, so really focusing on changing my inner dialogue to a more positive tone. I have achieved great things and will continue to do so!8 -

@AJB1014 I think you know the solution but don’t realize it. You were still hungry so you ate more but DIDN’T GET ENOUGH WATER. Next time drink a glass of water. We often THINK we are hungry when we are only thirsty. Drink, drink, drink!
@MadisonMolly2017 Dehydration also can cause headaches. Are you getting enough water?
Ah yes, you're so right that I knew it but didnt realize - I think I subconsciously squashed that notion because I wanted chicken tenders! I need to get some more of the water enhancer so I'll drink water even when I dont too!!1 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

9/7 Cruising
9/8 Long Beach and Home
9/9 134.0 Panda Express
9/10 135.0 Panda Express leftovers. I’m sure this will drop once all systems are GO!
9/11 134.0
9/12 133.5 Felt really crummy yesterday. Missed DGD’s first volleyball game of the season. Sucked on zinc drops all day, scratchy throat, runny nose. No appetite. Finally asked DH to go to Jimmy John’s. #9 Unwich for me, #9 and Jimmy Chips for him. I ate 2 small chips and threw the 3rd one back. They just didn’t taste good. It’s amazing how your tastebuds change after avoiding all the crap for over a year! Sneezy and runny nose still today. UGH!
9/13 132.5
9/14 131.5 Last near this on 5/4/2010 when I was 131.8 at WW so probably 130 at home, naked - the way I weigh every morning. Can’t wait to see what happens next round since I have revised my macros.6
