Haven’t posted anything since I’ve been having stuff I’ve frozen just with fresh salads. Nothing new just been too tired and sore to cook new food reason for my cooking for 4 people when it’s just me. I save for when my back is sore.

So, how do you know the seasons are changing? Well, dinner looks less like Texas BBQ and more like Octoberfest!
This is my first attempt at "currywurst," an informal snackfood from Germany (not what I usually think of a "German," I admit). I had some in Stuttgart while on business a bunch of years back, it wasn't like this, exactly, but similar. I think some fine tuning would help. Served with braised red cabbage and over brown rice (was going to go all-German and make potato fritters, but I got in late from bike riding on this beautiful Sunday afternoon and just used some rice on hand). Also, side salad (not shown).
Other ad hoc adjustments to the currywurst recipe: several of the family do not eat red meat, so German pork sausages were out, and Italian-sweet-style chicken sausages in. Also, low salt components.
Speaking of Stuttgart, I had some dry red wine there that went excellently with roast. Yes: dry. red. German. wine. No one around here carries it, and all tend to look at me as if I were daft. Would anyone know the name of the wine? Apparently it's a not-usually-exported regional specialty, and I should have followed my instincts and bought some at the airport.
