Got some very good news yesterday: Thanks to more inaccurate (should I say, misleading) employer communication (this time by HR dept.), both my manager and I had misunderstanding about eligibility rules for wage increase. Once HR explained to boss lady, which she then explained to me, in the end, I will get the wage increase. We were both relieved! Yay!

That is FANTABULOUS news! And relief for you as well. Communication: It's a wonderful thing!!!2 -

Good for you!!! I had a misunderstanding like that once due to HR comparing my job with a totally different position and saying everyone in our dept was getting a 7% raise that year except for me and my partner. I threw a fit! I was so upset when I went to my manager. She spoke with HR and found out that they had not been doing our market study increases correctly for many years and my partner and I ended up with an 18% raise that year! Sometimes it pays to question things like that!
So happy for you! Congrats!

@slittlemeister I am sending you big hugs from over here in the US. I hope you can feel them. I think going out for fish & chips is a lovely way to celebrate your father's life and memory.3

UP AND AT IT!
DETERMINED TO GET MY WORKOUT...SO FAR I'VE MANAGED 2 THIRTY MINUTE INTERVALS OF EXERCISE...🙌😀
Yay ME!!!🙌 IM EASILY CLEARING 5,000 steps now...
NEW OBJECTIVE FOR THE NEXT 2 weeks.. TRY TO EASILY CLEAR 7,000 steps.
Cut out sodas completely... Drink Green Tea (hot)
No eating after 7:30p.m.
Kick efforts up a notch on exercises...
No Breads, No Fries...Do Cauli/Broccoli instead
Reminder⭐ FRUIT IS MY NEW DESSERT, ⭐CELERY, CARROTS, CUCUMBERS will be my NEW CRUNCH N MUNCH (No more chips)
Bed By 9:30
THESE CHANGES SHOULD MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE!
Zoodles instead of pasta!
Could you do vegetable fries? (argh we call them chips over here LOL) Like parsnips or carrots? Over here we can buy frozen "rainbow chips" and it's basically just parsnip carrot and beetroot cut into chip shapes lol!
Any potato based things for dinner I switch for salad, pasta I do Zoodles, or I just give myself extra veg and boil an egg for on the side!
I don't have a rice substitute yet, so I just have smaller portions because I don't really like Cauliflower
Youve smashed it today well done!
Shucks, it wasn't until a few years ago that I trained myself to drink hot tea. Lol….
We so called Southern Ladies love our Sweet Iced Tea and Lemonade.. Why, for some of us, drinking sweet iced tea is a time honored tradition. Preferring it over sodas, and water even. And a lot of places put emphasis on the "Sweet" until the tea almost tastes syrupy... Awful health wise though.
AnyWhoo... I definitely am making positive changes.
Thanks again💖

1. Journal every bite
2. 64 oz of water
3. 5 fruits/veggies 3/5
4. Walk around the block My hip was irritated last night and I didn't want to make it worse.
5. Dairy free Day 6: Really hard because I LOVE cheese and we have fresh cheese curds in the house right now (which are my favorite), but I'm starting to notice little changes in how I feel so continuing the course. Happy me!
6. 15 minutes self care
7. 15 minutes digital declutter Ooops. Actually forgot because I was trying to be unplugged last night with hubby.
8. Gratitude Journal / Inspirational Reading / Sleeping by 10:30 I really have to work on this. I've been staying up reading WAY too late and need to start getting back to my regular work night routine.
Moving slow today. Tomorrow will be 5 weeks I've been off work postoperatively, and I've gotten into terrible habit of staying up late reading and sleeping until 9 or 10 in the morning, sipping coffee while I watch my morning shows and not even taking a shower until after Rachel Ray (which is close to noon). I need to work on turning that around because it's just going to make things harder to go back to work. Really frustrating that I haven't been getting things done around the house that I always thought I would do if I had some time off work, but I guess that is how it should be since I'm not actually off on vacation or anything. Resting and getting stronger is what I'm supposed to be doing and it is what I have been doing but it feels like such a waste of time! Rant over.
I still have to go back to page 415 to catch up, but I did see a discussion about how many calories to eat, and I wanted to share a Podcast I listened to from Half Size Me. It's Episode 340 - Half Size Me: Ask Coach Heather 028 - 6 Tips for Dealing with Weighht Regain after Weight Loss. It aired on August 13, 2018. Even though it was many years ago that I lost quite a bit of weight, some of these tips really spoke to me. So, I raised my calories up to maintenance and focused on maintaining for a few weeks at my current weight. Now that I've maintained a few weeks, I changed what I'm eating (no dairy, no sweets), and I've actually started dropping 0.5 to 1 pound here and there this past week. I think the 1200 calories that MFP was telling me I needed to stay at just was not realistic for me. She says in this podcast that if something isn't working, it might be time to try something else and it was an "ah ha" moment for me. If you like podcasts and you feel stuck, this episode was a good one I thought. I still need to follow her advice to go buy 3 outfits that fit me right now, because I have been fighting buying "bigger" size clothes (which she talks about). But I am just not up to shopping yet.
Well, here I am rambling again. Shocking, right?
Just for Today / Wednesday:- Journal every bite
- 64 oz water
- Day 7 no dairy
- 5 fruits/veggies
- Walk around block
- PT exercises x2
- 15 minutes declutter
- 15 minutes self-care
- Gratitude Journal / Inspirational Reading / sleeping by 10:30
- Up at 0700 tomorrow and work on morning routine
Have a great day!!

This is my Motto, One day, one step at time.
I went to a doctor last month, I was 325 pounds, I'm 6'ft 00 tall High Bloody pressure, high Cholesterol, the words from the doctor was pretty clear, with this lifestyle, you're not going to reach the 40's.
I'm 30 years old.
So I started this Journey, first I went to a Crossfit Gym next to my home. i tried at least 10 times to walk in, I always stop at parking lot, I always thought that you should be fit to do Crossfit.
But I did.
By now It's my 20th day and I've already lost 8 pounds.
But i'm feeling great. never did any workout who I'm excited for the next WOD.
I know I still have a long run to do, but it's ONE DAY AT TIME.
Let's keep fighting.

Years ago when I tried iced tea, I didn't like it. Thought: I'll add sugar. To sweet tea. Hated it more. Finally discovered there is such a thing as UNSWEET tea. I LOVE unsweet tea. When I was in China, I was also the only American in our group that ordered /drank tea. In China. All the others ordered coffee. I got terrific table service.
Love how you're changing things, a little at a time. Those are the kinds of changes that can stick. Go Mary!!!3 -
It's 2:40p.m. in the afternoon here in Cornelius, North Carolina.
I have been up and at it since early... Well early for me even though it was 6a.m. lol…. Making positive changes in many things gets me excited about this health venture. I walked that parking lot 3 times around and brisk walked all the way home this morning after putting my nieces on the school bus at 8:15.
And used the bottom step of our wood porch as my aerobics step, continued on into the house, to my bedroom where I extended my exercise time for 10 more minutes before taking a break. Then it was on to my niece's laundry, then dishes. Prepared my lunch of sweet peas and angel hair pasta. And I am now feeling a bit tired so a nap may be needed. That's the recap of my day thus far.
Thanks for letting me babble.😀 Love you.6 -

Dear friends. I have a prayer request for Matt. We found out today that his niece's father and a very close family friend was found dead in Mexico. Matt is devastated. Over the 6 years that Matt and I have been together he has lost approximately 60 people. Almost all of them to heroin and other drugs. We live in Ocean County, NJ which is a major heroin hotbed. Please pray for Matt and his family. He found this out less then a week after he heard another friend died due to drugs. Usually he can shrug it off but this time it's hit really really close to home.7

@cschmitz110515 and @clicketykeys Thanks for the information and considerations! Great feedback!
@HEGoddard0928 I am so sorry for your family's loss. I will keep you both in my thoughts. I can't imagine dealing with such loss.
@mgrThiagoSilva Welcome! Sounds like you've got a great start!
Today was a turnaround. Work is still stressful, but I emailed a strong yet professional email to the director regarding my PTO (eek!). It was very scary but I feel I deserve those hours! So stress will continue for a bit, but I feel I've been better able to manage it today. Balanced my food better today so I wasn't starving at the end. Made a fantastic new recipe tonight-suuuuper tasty. I think sheet pan recipes are my thing now! I'll put the link below. I used broccoli instead of asparagus and added cherry tomatoes. Seriously yummy.

Snowflake1968 wrote: »So I looked at a TDEE calculator today and put in my stats. I marked myself as sedentary as I sit most of the day at work. I try to get some exercise each day, but don't always succeed. According to that I need 1219 calories a day. I am trying to get away with 1050 Net each day. Maybe I need to try upping mine for a little bit. Although today I had a loss. My BMI finally shows only overweight instead of obese! This is such a game of numbers I'm never sure what to do.
Wow! going down a level in BMI is great progress. I try not to eat less than 1200 calories a day.

Dad's anniversary was fine yesterday. I actually didn't cry at all, it seems that the spontaneous emotion on that day is going away a bit. These days it tends to come out more on other meaningful days like birthday, Christmas etc, or when I'm sad about other things and then remember. Or when my mum is using the word 'we' to refer to her and her new boyfriend, grrrr. It actually makes me a bit sad that the grief is receding as it makes me feel like he's further away and more distant. But I know it is still there - I got out some letters from him to look at and just looking at the handwriting made me feel a little emotional. I couldn't actually bear to read them which is probably why I didn't cry! Decided to take some time to read them this weekend when I have a bit more time and don't have to get up for work before the crack of dawn...
Yesterday's commitments:
- Stick to food plan (which includes SMALL fish & chips!) I had medium fish and chips and ate too much at my free lunch. However I did eat less than I would have done previously (and I have always ordered the large f&c before!
- Eat slowly and mindfully Fish and chips yes. The free lunch no...
- 3 bottles water
- No alcohol - I need to deal with emotions today, not drown them
- Use breaks to do direct report's review
- Duolingo & French book
- Check out whether evening church is possible I went - it was good
- Gratitude journal
- Lights out by 11
Today is probably going to be a busy stressful day but I'm going to do my best to take it in my stride and stay in control. My training yesterday was on how to influence people. It was very good and I'm hoping it will help me to say NO to more people at work! And to say 'no' in an effective way that doesn't lead to me getting comments like 'not customer focused' and 'too assertive' in my appraisal (again)...
Today's commitments:
- Log everything I eat
- Stick to food plan
- Eat slowly and mindfully
- Be in the green
- 4 bottles water
- No alcohol
- 5+ fruit/veg
- Run to work
- 30+ minute lunch break
- Meditate
- Duolingo & French book
- Finish work by 6.30pm
- Gratitude journal
- Lights out by 115 -
Ah man I'm tired.
Me and my partner had a lovely deep meaningful conversation last night and it was just lovely. We really opened up to each other.
I love him more than ever!
Except this went on til 3am and I get up at 7am with the girls!
You know when you're so tired your eyes just burn!
Slipped with this a bit. I'm just SO busy! Me and my partner have so much more time together with one of the girls being at school. So we've had lots of quality time together and been able to go out every day together, which we havent been able to do for almost 5 years. We're going out on Friday for drinks!
In laws are having the girls over night so we're getting dressed up and hitting the town!
Excited! Feel young again!6 -
You know how the day will pan out when your pour a cup of tea and the mug splits in two randomly pouring hot tea everywhere. What do you even do in that kind of scenario LOL. Its too early for this.6
