How in the world is this 4000 calories

It's a chantilly cake. There are probably a fair amount of eggs (fat), butter (fat) sugar (more calories), flour (calories), the a ton of mascarpone (more fat), potentially some cream in the mascarpone (again, fat), and almonds (which have fat - though they may have just used almond extract). For reference, here's a recipe for chantilly cake from Bob's Red Mill. The cake is larger by three inches but you get the idea.
Upon further clicking of links, it looks like there's also cream cheese - more cream cheese than mascarpone. Also canola and sunflower seed oils instead of butter.
So yea, like everyone else said, you live your learn.10 -

How in the world is this small a** cake 4000 calories!!??! It wasnt even dense!! It was one of those airy cakes. How!?!?!?
I find more troublesome calling YOUR mom "stupid" than you eating 3/4 of the cake.
Edited to change "our" to "your.
Just because someone is your (general "your") parent doesn't somehow make them above reproach.15 -
That is a whole lotta calories for one eighth of a tiny cake! (Note that although it says it serves six, the nutritional info is for one eighth.) One three inch long slice equals 550 calories, and it can't all be just the high fat, look at the whopping carb content! As a diabetic I can usually eat a tiny slice of cake, and cheesecakes are usually a little better on carbs, but this is more than double my carb limit for a single tiny slice. This sucker is rich, admit it, that is a doll sized piece of cake to be that big a calorie bomb.
Anyway, your mom made a dumb mistake, forgive her. It's kinda sad to wipe out a whole week's deficit with one mistake but in the long run it won't matter.4 -
The whole topping of the cake is whipped almond mascarpone cream. Mascarpone is the italian cream cheese that is also often used to make Tiramisu. An incredibly, light, airy, melts in your mouth and disappears as if it has no substance... FULL FAT CREAM CHEESE
Need a “Yum” button for things like this!15 -
Sounds like your mom needs some education. Unless she is deliberately trying to sabotage you. But before assuming that, sit down, explain how many calories you can eat in a day, and then explain the caloric content of some commonly used foods, like a pat of butter. Make up a few meal plans and share them with her.15

Maybe all that fat will help with your constipation.29

Let this just be a lesson to you not to trust other people’s understanding of ‘healthy’, or statements about calories
As you continue in your weight loss journey you’ll get a better feel for calorie densities and make fewer of this sort of mistake.11 -
Respect your mom, dude48

I thought OP said the whole cake was 4000 calories and she ate 3/4 of it - not that 1/8 of it was that many

Lol. Eating more than one slice of cake is never going to end well unless its the only thing you eat the entire day26

Unless the posted is younger than 7 she is responsible for what she puts in her mouth, including the calorie content if concerned about that, don't be blaming mommy. Also sitting down and eating 3/4 of something that has multiple servings when trying to drop weight? SMH
From the link posted:
"Luscious layers of delicate whipped almond mascarpone cream, fresh raspberry scented cake, adorned with fresh berries for a dessert that is remarkably refreshing and delightfully shareable."

all cakes have a fair quantity of fat (apart from sponge cake), as much as 1/3 of the cake ingredients will be fat such as butter or oil.5 -

Didn't see the statement where the mom tied her down and shoved cake in her mouth.

The first post in this thread was so eloquent and friendly I wanted to respond.PlasticGains wrote: »I dont see where the fat is? It's so airy and light
It contains: Milk,Eggs,Tree Nuts,Wheat,Soy, it is all fat and carbs.Just have an anchovy-apple cider vinegar smoothie and you'll be fine.

I bet your mom is more sweet than stupid and you’re smart and not a naive piece of sh:t, but this is an absolute tragedy.11 -
Are croissants not super light and airy? and all butter and super high cal? Light and airy has no direct association to low cal
I do agree with the others, stuff happens. vent a bit (I think it's valid to complain/vent in this case, get it off your chest) but then take a deep breath and move on. don't starve yourself the next few days either, just eat normally (as per your plan) and maybe skip any "special indulgences" for a few weeks(beyond what fits in your plan).
there will always be bad days, life happens. what is important is we don't let one (or even a few) bad days derail us completely.15 -

In my experience a healthy cake is a sad cake.30 -
My mom used to buy flaxseed cookies, b/c they were "healthy" cookies. I have a feeling OP's mom thinks "fruit" cake equates "healthy."
I just didn't eat the cookies. Problem solved.10 -

you saw the cake and didn't think to check out the box to verify the 400 cals for a whole cake far too good to be true statement before you hoovered it up....?
