OP, tell your 'stupid mom' to send me your cakes, instead. I will be thankful for them, and will appreciate the loving spirit in which they were given.35

How in the world is this small a** cake 4000 calories!!??! It wasnt even dense!! It was one of those airy cakes. How!?!?!?
you saw the cake and didn't think to check out the box to verify the 400 cals for a whole cake far too good to be true statement before you hoovered it up....?
riiiiiight.
There was no box.. she just said it was from whole foods
so, question to all the american pals - is wholefoods known as a low calorie health shop...?? cos all i saw in the dessert section on that website was calorie after yummy calorie of fatness....?
not really understanding how anyone can actually legit think a whole cake covered in frosting is only 400 cals?
Technically, Whole Foods does not call itself a health food store, but rather a natural food store. There is actually a difference. Also, I don't personally think it's that much more expensive to shop there unless you're buying specialty items, when compared to other US chains around here. I shop largely at Trader Joe's, which is definitely cheaper than other chains here.
I can say that nearly every slice of cake I've seen from Whole Foods is between 600 and 1000 calories. Natural does not mean low calorie.7 -
OMG that baby is going to be blowing green icing out of his nose for days! :laugh:7

you ate the cake. you are an adult. log it, move on. be nice to your mother15

It is interesting in this world how people like to blame others for something they should be taking responsibility for.. you are lucky you have a mother that loves you and wanted you to feel better.. please go and thank her today for the token of love she gave you.. and I am sure I speak for many mothers on here that ask for so little yet deserve so much
hope your enjoyed your cake.. it is a cake, it is not supposed to be a drama filled nightmare... so you ate the cake.. tomorrow you will make other decisions that will make you healthy and happy but please.. from one stranger to another.. give your Mom a hug and say thank you32 -
Pie > Cake
It's been said before. The cake is a lie.17 -

I am beginning to think Whole Foods manufactures and sells calories. I like a lot of their products, I am shocked that the people that regularly shop there are so thin.

Maybe they just can't afford to buy much food there (although not judging by the make and model of cars in the parking lot!)3 -

Looks sort of tempting but wouldn't the pie crust be all soggy from being smothered in cake?3 -

Not so much soggy as kind of flattened but it does mostly maintain its shape.0 -
