10/6: 194 - I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in a while. I've been exercising outdoors all summer, but yesterday it rained. It actually felt good to work out inside! A change is good sometimes.
10/7: 194.6 I'm feeling a little bloated today so not surprised there has been no drop. I did pretty good yesterday with my eating and logging, but before dinner I was hungry and did some snacking on pretzels and hummus. I did get out for a long horseback ride and hike (i get off my horse and walk up all the steep hills) so exercise goal is a big check for yesterday. Today my goal is to stick to my calorie goal and fit in yoga and a jog.

10/05 – 174.5 (There’s that < 175 from last challenge!) Good day yesterday. Exercised. Ate in a smaller window yesterday and had an awesome, huge egg/sausage/cheese/spinach scramble for dinner!
10/06 -- 173.5 Very happy! Hit calorie/exercise goals. Did water aerobics and made my step goal!
10/07 – 174.5 Rats! Scale fluctuations! Not going to let it mess with my mind! Went for a last minute walk before dinner and made by 12000 steps in a brisk hilly walk!

Round 55
10/05 153 I had spaghetti for the first time in months last night. I have been avoiding pasta. I am beginning to realize that I can have things I want, in moderation. As long as I eat well most of the time, and control my portions, then I will continue to have great progress.
10/06 153 I failed to mention yesterday that I tried a new workout Thursday. I am still sore, in areas that I've never been sore before. Needed to step up my routine, and it was tough! Found it on fitness blender on YouTube if anyone wants to try it out, but will fair warn you it was tough for me. I plan to do it a few days per week.
10/07 153 Going to work extra hard this coming week on keeping my carbs and sugar under because I will be going away to stay with my sister next weekend. I know there will be lots of temptation! I know I will not totally ruin it though because my willpower is so much stronger now 😊

Looking forward to round 55! Slowly, painfully figuring out posting here.
10/05 131.4-Yay! Finally the workouts and tracking are paying off. Have to say I am enjoying the mix of workouts—stairs with my girlfriends or alone, gym with my husband,Pilates with my girlfriends and walks with my dog. Best part? My workouts are becoming my go to social outlets. I used to default to lunches and happy hours. Tracking and pre-logging have really helped. I like knowing at the beginning of my day what my calories are looking like for the day.
10/06 131.2 lost a little-I’ll take it! Ate well and hit the gym when my family started working my nerves. Absolute right call-25 mins on the elliptical and bodyweight exercises over emotional eating for the win!
10/07 130.8 Day is off to a good start—homemade huevos rancheros (lots of protein), 1 mile walk with Brewster, protein shake for lunch. Heading out for a couple games of bowling, maybe swim a few laps later and then an evening of socializing. I’ve scheduled my workouts for the week, joined a ‘workweek hustle’ walking challenge on Fitbit and will continue to pre log my meals.

10/06 - 257.2 - no change. Heavy dinner will do that to ya. I need to make time for my own meal prep!
10/07 - 256.8 - Yay!! I'll take any loss But....I didn't stick to plan last night & I know it takes 2 days for any slip-ups to make it onto my scale (weird, huh?!)

🎀10/5 - 180.2 - My carb grams have been much higher in the past week. Yesterday the carbs were wheat flour in the form of Texas toast croutons (10) and pumpkin tortilla chips (12) They were good and crunchy, just what I needed. 😁 But what springboarded (Is that an actual word? Today it is because I'm tired) me back to 180 was not enough sleep. Making the flowers for the wall has me keeping very late hours and I've been averaging 4 hrs of sleep every night this week. Today, I finish up the flowers and assemble the boards for the wall. Every part of this project is a PROJECT. I'll take a break tonight and tomorrow, then get back to it Saturday evening and Sunday. I want it to be ready for transport on Wednesday.

Hi
I am a female, 30 years old, 5' 6"
Just started using the every other day diet on 10/4 upon weighing 175 that morning. I have gained about 40 lbs over the past year and a half... After losing it all in the first six months after baby. I did the same thing after baby #1. After I lost it I gained my pregnancy weight back even while still BF...just minus the baby ! So here we go again.

10/06 / 168.4 / 500 calorie day
10/07 / 165.4 / maintenance calorie day. water weight loss, will probably gain some back. TOM surprised me today with no cramps ECT. I'm pretty excited since I cut out dairy a month ago it really seems to have helped in many ways (less cravings, I can feel "thirsty" better instead if just hungry) including this one.

Round 54 (my round 1) SW187 FW183.4
Round 55 (my round 2) SW 183 my goal for this round is 179
10/5 183.4 whew, I was afraid I was up! I had a busy few days and logged food, but didn’t check in here. Been doing a good job of keeping calories and carbs down - until my mom brought over pumpkin pie last night. Carbs and sweets are my downfall. Today I’m not working out as it is my rest day but planning to keep active and keep calories way down as the weekend is coming!
10/6 182 and so happy to see this downward trend. My exercise class was canceled this morning so now I’m trying to find something to do. Probably will end up walking the dog but was hoping for a more intense and full body workout. Tomorrow is going to be a major test as we have a birthday party and my favorite cherry cake will be served. So I’ll just have to plan for it.
10/7 182 this morning. Today hasn’t been a good eating day as I went to a birthday party. I skipped breakfast in preparation. I filled 3/4 of my plate with veggies and the rest was a chicken potato dish. Then the cake and, yes, a second piece of cake. Here’s the thing: delicious, but after the forth bite it was just too sweet. Did that make me stop? No. And I need to figure out why. Has anyone else figured this out? Now I’ve crashed on the couch and had to take a short nap. Sugar...who invented this stuff anyway?!!6 -

10/05 - 151.5 - I'm up again for no other reason than weight fluctuations. I'll have to really watch what I eat this weekend so I don't bump up too much more on Monday.
10/06 - 150.5 - I didn't expect this weight this morning after I ate close to 1500 calories yesterday, but I'll take it!
10/07 - DNW - I had to move the scale because of our bathroom remodel and I woke up at 3:45 this am and didn't think my husband would appreciate me turning on lights to check my weight. Our son-in-law is in town and staying with us to do the remodel and we've had a couple cookouts. I made vegetable side dishes, but I've eaten about 1500 calories a day the past couple days, so tomorrow's weigh in may not be pretty. That's why I'm here though, to face any gain and get back on track.

For you and your hair growth, have you tried any natural products? Aloe vera gel, mixed with pure vitamin E oil and organic lavender oil as a scalp massage and daily hair treatment. That is a simple, but effective mixture to stimulate hair follicles, soften and strengthen hair. There are other beneficial essential and carrier oils that can be added, along with MSM sulphur and biotin, but this simple combination can be effective usually without causing any irritation. I use it and make it for family members.
\
Dr. has me on a prescription shampoo, a prescription hair oil (expensive) and on prescription prenatal vitamins. I use the oil and shampoo twice per week, sleeping in the oil. Shampoo stays on 15 minutes then back in the shower for the rinse. 1/2 of a prenatal vitamin daily. I also get multiple needle shots with some sort of medication in them all around my head every 6 weeks. If it would not skew the results of my drs. plan and testing, I think I could use about anything in between. My resources are limited in my area, but anything I could order online would work. I would need a recipe. My daughter gets essential oils from a local distributor. Young Living is the brand. Thanks for any information you could share. I go back to the dr. in about a month and can check with him. Nothing I've tried on the market or from the salon has worked, no matter how expensive. It's nice to hear ideas and results from someone who has actually used a product or recipe.
BTW, my hear grows fine, as I always need my cut & styles. It just comes out profusely. It makes me feel like I have cancer all over again and is very emotionally upsetting. During my cancer & treatments I really felt like an alien. Breast cancer is hard for a woman. First you lose a breast or two (or part of them, your choice), then you lose all your hair. Then all your eyebrows, eyelashes, body & private hair etc. Soon, you look in a mirror and don't even feel like a woman anymore. More like an alien. You don't recognize yourself. It really helps when your hair comes back. It's not about a cosmetic thing. It's about feeling like a human being, and especially feeling like a woman as we tend to do so much with our hair that men don't usually do. When it came back, it was wonderful. Then, after a time, it all started falling out again. Not as bad as during the chemo (no complete baldness), but really bad with wide parts and some bald spots that form. I escaped with my life and I don't want to seem ungrateful or petty. My kids were underage at the time and I hated looking so sick in front of them as I wanted them to have faith that I would survive.
Happily, my health is good for a few years now. My annual cancer check is in late October at University of Michigan. It is a very long trip for me and an overnight 2 day ordeal. I will let you all know how it goes but I'm feeling pretty good about it again. 90% of my journey to lose weight is about estrogen fed cancer cells that can form in my fat cells. Losing weight greatly cuts my chances of recurrance. I am so happy to have so many of you helping me during my weight loss journey and my personal battles. You are at the top of that list Tish. Thanks so much. I look forward to the recipe when you have time. Posting it may help others too.
I can relate to the part about hair and half eye brow, mine was brain tumour 5cm. (hemangiopericytoma) that was removed I never had one symptom during radiation, but just last week the hair started fall out. One side is falling out and the front is growing, trying to lose the weight is hard for me. I was at my goal weight but being on steroids twice shot my weight up. I found it helpful, eating avocados for hair growth helps me a lot.3 -

Day/Weight/Comment
10/5- 186.3- I don't want to get too excited because I'm just going to jinx myself again lol. But I'm happy the scale is going back down again! No rice until I hit my goal! I really want to get to 185.0 though. I've been hovering in the upper 180s for a while now. Gotta get down to the lower 180s. Going to make this round the round I get to it! It's Friday but I'll try to do well today so the scale goes down some more. REALLY want to get to 185.something!
10/6- 185.6- Yay! I got there. Spoke it into existence I guess lol. But that's not my mini goal until it's 185.0 so got a little ways more to go. Going to try to do well this weekend. Not planning on doing anything that would make me go over my calories but weekends. Yesterday was under my calories. Went to chipotle, was pretty darn healthy in my choices. I've changed a lot since the past- I used to get a loaded burrito with cheese and all the works. Now I get a bowl, lots of veggies, no cheese, no tortilla on the side like I used to. Just making good choices for my health. Pretty proud of myself.
10/7- 185.1- Saturday was successful and scale was on my side too! Will try to do well today as well. Looks like I will be under calories today too. I'm almost at my mini goal of 185.0 but I don't want to stop my progress so will continue onto 180.0. Hopefully I can reach it by the next round. We'll see!

10/5 - 81.4kg, only down .2 from yesterday, did eat pretty awful dinner (under cals but high sodium), and didn’t drink a lot of water. Happy to see a loss either way
10/6 - 81.6kg, Friday seems to be a hard day for me (it’s a ‘weekend’ day). I definitely stayed under calories, but ate out and had food that was hard to track. I worked out for 30mins, and drank plenty of water so really disappointed to see this number
10/7 - 81.4kg, I’m glad it’s down from yesterday but I feel like I’m stagnating
10/8 - 81.4kg, I overate a bit yesterday but for the whole week I was good with calories so I’m okay with that. I’ve been going to the gym every day since Friday (nothing crazy, just 30-60mins in the treadmill), however still a little stuck on this number!

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

10/07 NWI Travel day, miserable weather for car travel! Pouring so hard we slowed to 40MPH a couple of times and spent about 20 minutes at a convenience store so DH could relax. I’m exhausted.7 -
I can relate to the part about hair and half eye brow, mine was brain tumour 5cm. (hemangiopericytoma) that was removed I never had one symptom during radiation, but just last week the hair started fall out. One side is falling out and the front is growing, trying to lose the weight is hard for me. I was at my goal weight but being on steroids twice shot my weight up. I found it helpful, eating avocados for hair growth helps me a lot.
I have never heard of avocados for hair. I love them and eat them occasionally because they actually work quite well with my keto/low carb diet. However, they are a little pricey where I am from and they do have high calories but I think I will try to incorporate perhaps 1/2 avocado per day to see if it can help me too. I love using natural ways to solve problems like this.
In regards to the radiation, chemo treatments and steroids many cancer patients must have: It kills the hair but also often kills the cancer. However, I know it is a frustrating trade-off and process. The one thing it can't kill is our spirit. You are a trooper. I have followed your posts closely and I know it's been a rough journey but you have done so well. 5 cm is very large. I am sorry you had to go through this but you have done so with strength, dignity and honor. My prayers continue to be with you as you heal. Thanks again for the tip!

10/05 – 171.2 lbs Been very slow after the huge losses I had in my last three rounds. Went to the gym today and had a really good workout with my physical therapist. I work out 3 times a week now, and this feels like the perfect amount of workouts for me now. Been having a lot of issues with the mobile app lately, so I haven't been tempted to struggle with forum posts everyday. So slow and it's crashing all the time Been logging everyday and staying under my calorie goal since the last time I was participating in this challenge. I have been weighing once a week, was kinda nice to have a break from the daily weigh-ins. I have also chosen to open my diary to friends to hold my self accountable.
10/06 - 170.1 (-1.1) Had to step on the scale 3 times to make sure this was right 😂 Awesome!
10/07 - 170.4 (+0.3) A small bump up from yesterday. Not worried, still a huuge loss in 2 days. Ate a lot of sodium yesterday, so it’s probably just water :-) a mini goal for the day is that I’m gonna drink a minimum of 4 glasses of water today.
10/08 - 169.3 (-1.1) Whooosh! I’m seeing the number 6 and I am so happy! 😃 I did complete the mini goal I set for myself yesterday and I’m gonna set a new one for today. My minigoal for the day is to go to the gym and do some cycling, strength training and core training (for atleast 30 min). Good to see that my little plateau is ending and I’m just whooshing. My weight has been standing very still since R51.. but I have stayed under my calorie goal even if I have had a small break from these challenges. Sometimes the scale won’t budge for a while and I get a big whoosh after. Can be really demotivating to see that the scale is standing still, so it’s just a fabulous feeling when I whoosh like this 👌🏻

Today was really hard. Having serious cravings to eat until I'm overly full which sounds so ridiculous, but I guess it's just what my body has gotten used to doing. I'm hoping this will pass.
