OSW: 212 (Sept 2017)
FGW: 170
10/5: 194.6
10/6: 194 - I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in a while. I've been exercising outdoors all summer, but yesterday it rained. It actually felt good to work out inside! A change is good sometimes.
10/7: 194.6 - I'm feeling a little bloated today so not surprised there has been no drop. I did pretty good yesterday with my eating and logging, but before dinner I was hungry and did some snacking on pretzels and hummus. I did get out for a long horseback ride and hike (i get off my horse and walk up all the steep hills) so exercise goal is a big check for yesterday. Today my goal is to stick to my calorie goal and fit in yoga and a jog.
10/8: 194.8 - Trying not to be discouraged. I had a pretty good weekend as far as weekends go. I logged my food, wasn't as austere as I had hoped, but didn't go over either day. Yesterday I went to the beach for a run with my 6 year old. We did 2 miles, he's got so much energy! 6 year olds don't like jogging as it's boring, so we pick landmarks ahead (logs, piles of seaweed) to race to. It's like full on sprints! My legs are sore and we had fun together. A great day. Monday is here and I've got gym plans and a healthy lunch packed. Here we go.
10/9: 192.6 - What? Suddenly the scale came down. I have felt bloated the last few days and today feel more normal, so hopefully I'll stay down here for a while. Never did get that workout in yesterday- discovered I forgot my sneakers! AAAAH! Instead, I focused on staying within my calorie range and I was successful. Today I remembered my sneakers, and I have signed up for a lunchtime spin class. I'm loving this 10 day challenge- it seems so much more manageable taking things in a 10 day chunk.

10/05 150.6 I'm experiencing a lot of fluctuation in my weight. I might need to change the battery on my scale. I definetly need to drink more water.
10/06 150.6 Had a party for my husband and son's birthdays. I was careful. over 11, 500 steps!
10/07 150.4
10/08 148.6 I expected more water retention since I've been snacking on nuts and pickled cauliflower. I was also stuck at my desk grading all day yesterday, but my son took me on a short walk to watch the Space X launch.
10/09 147.6 I was good until dinner. I made Armenian mac n chesse for my husband's birthday. I didn't go overboard though.

@tiabirdie56 Wow! Fantastic Job on the pink wall & ribbon.
@abowersgirl It's probably a little water weight from the sodium or starches during your Thanksgiving festivities. However, it sounds like you had a lot of control on the portions. I like the idea of trying just a little bit or a spoonful of everything to keep the calories and carbs down. Now, if I can just get that control on my favorites=like mashed potatoes and gravy! My Thanksgiving will be in November and I will give it try and see how it goes.
It sounds like you may have hit a plateau, as far as staying in the same 150's range. When I hit a serious plateau, I do an Egg Fast. It is low in calories and carbs. There are great recipes out there. One of my favorites is the egg fast pancakes (using Almond flour). Of course, omelets are great. hard cheese for snacks. If you haven't tried it or heard of it, you can google it and find lots of ideas. You can do it for 3-5 days. I usually do 3. It will show up a loss on the scale daily for me and put me back in line. I do keto-low carb so it's great for my personal macros. If you just want to watch calories, I would do a 500 calorie day at least 3 days per week (not consecutive) to break through that barrier. You are always great with your exercise goals. I am sure there is little more you can do on that front. The problem will, therefore, have to be solved with a temporary diet change, more than likely. However, you have done great and are doing so well.3 -
I’m joining in late, but better late than never!! I’m 34, and finally have my hypothyroid under control, so I’ve started making progress on my weight.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/5 - 81.4kg, only down .2 from yesterday, did eat pretty awful dinner (under cals but high sodium), and didn’t drink a lot of water. Happy to see a loss either way
10/6 - 81.6kg, Friday seems to be a hard day for me (it’s a ‘weekend’ day). I definitely stayed under calories, but ate out and had food that was hard to track. I worked out for 30mins, and drank plenty of water so really disappointed to see this number
10/7 - 81.4kg, I’m glad it’s down from yesterday but I feel like I’m stagnating
10/8 - 81.4kg, I overate a bit yesterday but for the whole week I was good with calories so I’m okay with that. I’ve been going to the gym every day since Friday (nothing crazy, just 30-60mins in the treadmill), however still a little stuck on this number!
10/9 - 81.6kg...... why am I stuck!!! I’ve been counting every day and definitely under. I think I’m having a lot of water retention from exercising ? I’m going to have a today and maybe tomorrow off from the gym
10/10 - 81.2kg, finally seeing my weight go down which is super relieving. I wanted to go to the gym yesterday but decided a day off would be good. I haven’t been sleeping well either so that might be factoring in to this plateau. Drank plenty of water and stuck to 1100cals

Day/Weight/Comment
10/05 - 164.2
10/06 - 164.4 Probably at least some salt from Thursday. Had a good day today. Went for a long walk with hubs and pup and ate ok. Baked pumpkin pie in the evening and had a slice that put me over calories. Also, didn't get my run in... but the walk more than made up for that.
10/07 - 164.6 Thanksgiving dinner today. Not going to stress about counting calories, thanksgiving comes but once a year and we worked too hard cooking and baking not to enjoy it.
10/08 - 166.4 Ugh. Not surprised. Did get my run in yesterday though. Leftovers today but I have a day off work so have decided to do one more day not counting calories. Back to brass tax tomorrow.
10/09 - 167.8 Holy crap. That's a new high! I did wake up queasy this morning which usually means I'm dehydrated. I said my goal this round was not to gain so I have the rest of the week to get back to where I started. Meal planning isn't as good as I would like this week as we have so many bits an pieces in the fridge that need to be used up before they go bad.

Hi
I am a female, 30 years old, 5' 6"
Just started using the every other day diet on 10/4 upon weighing 175 that morning. I have gained about 40 lbs over the past year and a half... After losing it all in the first six months after baby. I did the same thing after baby #1. After I lost it I gained my pregnancy weight back even while still BF...just minus the baby ! So here we go again.

500 calorie day
10/07 / 165.4 / - 3
maintenance calorie day. water weight loss, will probably gain some back. TOM surprised me today with no cramps ECT. I'm pretty excited since I cut out dairy a month ago it really seems to have helped in many ways (less cravings, I can feel "thirsty" better instead if just hungry) including this one.
10/08 / 167.2 / +1.8 (this ended up being an unplanned maintenance calories day)
500 calorie day. I was hungry last night and I'm hungry today. Already have my food made for the day and planned out so that should help. Big salads all day Maybe tea with maple syrup this evening. Had a cold all weekend and I am feeling a lot better today, and one of my LO's seems better as well. My older is still sick so we will be staying in and having a relaxing day today.
10/09 / 166.4 / -.8
Trying again for a 500 calorie day today. I ended up feeling unwell yesterday at about 4 like I had low blood sugar and didn't feel well until I ate more than my planned food, so I ate up to maintenance. I had a lot of calories coming from vegetables yesterday where the past 2 successful 'fast' days I had eaten mostly carbs on my down day so maybe that just didn't work for me. I am trying again today with more coming from carbs like the first 2 successful down days. Feeling good so far. We had a tornado watch this morning.

So bummed that my scale is gone up but it was almost instantaneous after the break and then again after the surgery. I’m clearly retaining fluids (massive swelling) even though I’ve been walking each day (quite a lot actually) and watching what I ate.
I’ve been told it’s not good to try to lose weight after surgery, but at this point with several pounds more on, I’m gonna go ahead and go back in and diet to get back to at least 161.
I worked so hard to get from 165 to 157.8 that this has been really tough to handle.
I hope you’re all doing well.

I HAVE to reach my goal this time. I'm going to make it happen.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/5- 186.3- I don't want to get too excited because I'm just going to jinx myself again lol. But I'm happy the scale is going back down again! No rice until I hit my goal! I really want to get to 185.0 though. I've been hovering in the upper 180s for a while now. Gotta get down to the lower 180s. Going to make this round the round I get to it! It's Friday but I'll try to do well today so the scale goes down some more. REALLY want to get to 185.something!
10/6- 185.6- Yay! I got there. Spoke it into existence I guess lol. But that's not my mini goal until it's 185.0 so got a little ways more to go. Going to try to do well this weekend. Not planning on doing anything that would make me go over my calories but weekends. Yesterday was under my calories. Went to chipotle, was pretty darn healthy in my choices. I've changed a lot since the past- I used to get a loaded burrito with cheese and all the works. Now I get a bowl, lots of veggies, no cheese, no tortilla on the side like I used to. Just making good choices for my health. Pretty proud of myself.
10/7- 185.1- Saturday was successful and scale was on my side too! Will try to do well today as well. Looks like I will be under calories today too. I'm almost at my mini goal of 185.0 but I don't want to stop my progress so will continue onto 180.0. Hopefully I can reach it by the next round. We'll see!
10/8- 184.9- Sunday was also very successful. Was under calories, ate PRETTY healthy (even though I had pizza). But I'm very happy. Weekends used to be a huge binge-fest for me. Not anymore! Really trying to beat that habit. So this means I got to my mini-goal of 185, so the next mini-goal is 180! I'm pretty excited and don't want to let the progress go to waste so will continue to do well. Today I'm going to work out (really going to work on my cardio today because I've definitely been slacking and I want to make this part of my lifestyle to help with maintenance once I get to my goal) and definitely staying under calories.
10/9- 185.4- Last night I had a delicious and pretty healthy meal but it did have soy sauce in it so I know that that may have led to water retention and I was also consumed a little more calories than usual. Nothing crazy but I'm sure it adds up a little. I'm okay with this. Just going to eat a little less tonight and hopefully that will help.

ROUND 55 (Round 2 for me)
5’5” 65 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 140 lb.
Round 54 – SW 178 lb. down to 171.8 lb. (6.2 lb. loss) This was my beginning of eating keto and tracking calories. I expect more realistic loss this round, but loss, none the less!
Day/Weight/Comment
10/05 171.6 I’m happy to be starting another round! After a big breakfast with our guests from Zimbabwe, Thor (my GSD) and I walked a little over 3 miles. I took water for both of us this time. Someone took my water before I returned for it, but I drank a little of Thor’s water. We walked a little slower than usual since I had a full tummy from breakfast.
10/06 171.4 No walk, getting ready for a 2-day bus trip, singing and eating with my sisters in Christ. When I joined the group, my husband groaned, because he didn’t want me to be heavy like the rest of the ladies. His fears were grounded, and I gained about 40 lbs. Fortunately, most of us in the group have gotten serious about getting back in shape, so I think I’ll eat okay this weekend. Thor and I will miss our walks, but we plan to start again on Monday.
10/07 On the road and off the scale.
10/08 170.8 (when I woke up) (170.6 after walk with Thor) I think I was experiencing keto flu the last couple of days. I drank a lot of fluids, ate plenty of calories that I didn’t try to count—including shrimp, ribs, chicken, veggies, and I ate a few extra carbs to combat the tired, yucky feeling I’ve read is common at the beginning of a keto regimen. I feel fine today.
10/09 171 Up a little, could it have been something I ate? 😊 Don’t worry, be happy! Took a short walk with Thor and a friend this morning—before the rain started. I read “The Movie Chair’s” blog on MFP this morning, entitled “Walk Through the Swamp.” I don’t know if I would call it motivational or a kick in the pants, but it’s a wonderful piece, whatever you call it. I printed out copies for a few friends and relatives.

@abowersgirl I believe Jimmy Moore originated the egg fast and he did it for 30 days. There is an EF group on FB.
@KissPig My guess is that the gain is from your Thanksgiving dinner. Stick to your plan and I think it will disappear. My food choices take 2-3 days to reveal themselves.

10/05 – 174.5 (There’s that < 175 from last challenge!) Good day yesterday. Exercised. Ate in a smaller window yesterday and had an awesome, huge egg/sausage/cheese/spinach scramble for dinner!
10/06 -- 173.5 Very happy! Hit calorie/exercise goals. Did water aerobics and made my step goal!
10/07 – 174.5 Rats! Scale fluctuations! Not going to let it mess with my mind! Went for a last minute walk before dinner and made by 12000 steps in a brisk hilly walk!
10/08 – 173.5 Yay. Made ricotta pancakes to go with eggs & bacon for brunch. Ribs and black bean/corn salsa for dinner. Got in a long power walk.
10/09 – 175.5 Seems like a random big jump in the wrong direction. Happy with how I ate and exercised yesterday, so I’m assuming it’s water or fat cells prepping to whoosh.. Drank some salt water right before bed because I was feeling dizzy.

However, you have done great and are doing so well.
I will definitley have to check the egg fast out. Tons of protein and good fats will really help me. Ye I have been thinking of a temporary diet change to kick start again, I just always get uncomfortable at the idea of fasts. I'm scared that the lack of food will lead to a binge and less energy (since I exercise so much) will derail my routine or I will end up sleeping in...but I will definitley consider the egg fast and if that works then try the 500 calories on my next plateau and work with what works. I won't lie I probably could manage a little more exercise considering I do love it and I know my limits, it's always the end of the day where I start to laze out, especially after dinner. I have no problem pulling an hour and half in the morning, some at lunch and hour before dinner but even though every day I plan to do an hour or even a half hour before bed, I tend to mentally faulter.. I plan on changing this though. My weekends on the other hand could definitley be better. More time less exercise, less time more exercise...sheesh the way I work. Lol Thanks for the advice
@quiltingjaine ye I noticed some people have plateaued and I think that helps me a bit too. I do feel sorry and aggravated for those individuals but at the same time it doesn't make me feel alone and that really helps with patience and persistence. A maintain is not necessarily a gain so that's a positive. Thanks also for the MFP info on the egg fast group.
@Kathrynprestridge yikes. Where are you from? Stay safe, sending thoughts and good wishes your way5
