So...the starving thing scared me out of maintenance, it’s been 3 weeks and I’m 6lbs down.
I will try again at some point but realise I will need a lot of support to get to that stage - it terrifies me but I know it’s something I will have to deal with.

so are you trying to gain weight now or...?

I’m not sure I’m actively trying anything to be honest, just kind of getting through it

i'm not sure what 'it' is that you're referring to? if you're just ranting that's fine, i am just not sure i understand your previous post about having lost more weight? are you happy you lost more? are you saying you are scared to eat more?

Okay, so look at it like this: you have a six pound cushion to use to help you get past the WEEK (at the most) of feeling like you need to keep eating when you've raised calories.

    Go back to maintenance cals.

Work through the feeling of needing to eat more. Get plenty of protein and take a long walk every day for a week. Eat your 4-6 servings of vegetables daily. The increased appetite WILL settle down, just believe. It will.

Yeah, I get that...but the need-to-eat-all-the-foodz when increasing calories is normal. It happens to all of us (or at least a lot of us.)

There's nothing wrong with you and you're not going to go back to being out of control, it will settle down. Honest.

Glad to hear you will be seeing your doctor. If increased hunger bothers a person so much that they would rather stay in a deficit and lose weight they do not need to, that seems to call out for professional attention. The phrase "I will try again at some point" is concerning- a person can't stay in a deficit indefinitely, and what happens to your body & health in the meantime? Wish you the best :)

Thank you, I do have a plan of sorts and it starts with the dr, I think I might need to talk a lot before I get the strength to actually change.

Ask your doctor for a referral to a therapist and a dietitian. You don't need to live like this.

I think they are planning to refer me, I’m quite positive about the idea of a therapist, the dietitian makes me nervous.
