12/04 174.4 undeserved but i'll enjoy it while it lasts
12/05 173.2 and the sun is shining!!
12/06 173.8 early weigh in - enjoyed some fruitcake yesterday but stayed within my calories - next special event is on the 12th so hopefully i can make some progress before then
12/07 173.8 not enough exercise yesterday
12/08 173.2
12/09 173.4 maintenance as a goal for the season is definitely helping with the stress, but I notice that my nutrition is not as good - too many carbs and salt and not enough protein - so this is not sustainable long term. Will try to address that this week.
12/10 174.4 ? ate well yesterday so I am not sure why the bounce
12/11 176 .0 mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! Now for the damage control.
12/12 175 That's better A christmas event this evening - going to have one piece of fruit cake and focus on the carol singing and maybe walk home afterwards weather permitting.
12/13 173.4 Not sure what I did to get this woosh - probably it won't hold but its a lovely way to end the round. Results for the round -1.4 See all you lovely people in the next round.14 -

12/08: 280.2
12/09: 280.2
12/10: 279.6 - This I am surprised at since I had a big bowl of pork ramen yesterday, but who knows.

12/12: 279 - Considering all the sodium I ate yesterday this is not a surprise at all
12/13: 278 - Happy with this drop!
Total loss in 10 days: 4.6 pounds15 -
Rejoining after completely losing the plot for a number of reasons. Not the least of which was turning 60 and having an extended party for a few days. Too much sodium in what I have eaten. Too much sugar in the sparkling wine I drunk each evening. Back on track now.
12/12 296 lbs

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130.
Want to get back to 127-128
Crept back to JGM10D quietly in Round 60, after intentionally sitting out a number of rounds, because I need the daily accountability that worked before.
12/4 - 131.2 - over maintenance calories yesterday. Really tired plus sugary treats in the evening. Dropping goal calories to the .5 loss goal for this round, and we shall see!
12/5 - 130.4 - just at my new calorie limit that should result in .5 a week loss. 7500 steps and I do eat back as much of the fitbit calorie adjustment as I want to, that's worked for me before.
12/6 - 130.0 - just at my new gentle-loss calorie limit. 8500 steps. Poor sleep last night, can make for a weak-willed day, so I am on guard.
12/7 - 130.4 - yep I was over on calories yesterday. 7800 steps. However, did get almost 9 hours of sleep last night, much needed. Today I have a wellness check Dr appointment, something I rarely do!
12/8 -130.8 - over on calories and under on steps yesterday, only 5000. The after work snacking got me. Still, doing better so far today.
12/9 - 130.8- just under my .5 loss plan calories for yesterday, 7000 steps. Took a lovely 2 mile walk with our little rescue dog this morning - we've had her for only about 6 weeks - she is doing so much better with the "snoot loop" type collar, no longer getting my arm pulled off when she sees a squirrel or another dog or a bicyclist or a runner or ...
12/10 - 131.0 - under maintenance but a bit over my modest-loss goal yesterday. 13500 steps though, included a 1.5 mile run with dogger. More than happy with the way my average is shaping up this challenge.
12/11 - 131.2 - WAAY over maintenance yesterday and only 6000 steps.
12/12 - 131.0 - Way over maintenance again and only 6000 steps. Finally slept better, I think it was exhaustion that made me feel like I was getting the flu!
12/13 - 131.2 - Just a bit over maintenance and 11000 steps, I will count that as reining it in and finishing... well, acceptably. ON TO THE NEXT! Thank you friends, I am really enjoying the structure of posting here again.

12/04 / 235.8 / I won’t lie. I make my own food so counting calories with MFP is a lot easier. I’ll be estimating resort food for the next several days.

12/10 / On the advice of my friend the frequent tropical traveler, I need to not freak out over my weight for at least three days after arriving back home. I’m going to take the advice and see you all next round! (247.2)
12/11 / (244.8)

12/13 / 237.0 / Tropical water weight is a real thing! I did include my weigh-ins that I did not post to the group, hopefully you fellow travelers will remind yourselves that changes in environment impact water weight in a BIG WAY.

Goal: Get BF% to 10-12%, then bulk.
Round 57: +2.6 (15.1%)
Round 58: -1.8 (15.1%)
Round 59: -1.8 (14.1%)
Round 60: -7.0 (12.1%)
Round 61: +8.4 (14.1%)
Round 61 Starting Weight: 178.6
Goals for this round are to continue recovering from my illness the last round and see where my weight stabilizes, then determine whether to cut a bit more or start my bulk. Also plan on getting back in the gym consistently now that I am starting to get my strength back.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 - 181.2 - Was able to eat normal foods again and felt pretty good. Wasn't able to get a workout in, but I do plan on getting back to the gym today and getting on a normal eating schedule again.
12/05 - 182.4 - Had a lot of food yesterday. Starting to feel stronger. We will see where the weight tapers off.
12/06 - 184.0 - Feeling closer to 100%, so I plan on getting back on point with my calories and macros today, as well as getting back in to my workout routine. Looking forward to it!
12/07 - 184.8 - Started working out, decent workout. Also started to take creatine, so my weight may go up for the next couple of weeks, but I am ok with that.
12/08 - 183.4 - Had a fancy work dinner that was amazing. Had a dessert I shouldn't have, but its all good. Got my workout in and spent a bunch of time with family today.
12/09 - 183.6 - Rest day from workouts. Ate sensibly.
12/10 - 184.2 - Had a good day. Did pretty well as far as food (except sodium), and crushed my workout.
12/11 - 183.2 - Hoping for another good day today. Planning on a steak dinner tonight and a good HIIT sprint workout and an ab workout.
12/12 - 183.8 - Had my steak dinner and got my workout in yesterday. I am sore as can be (2nd day after 1st squat day after a 2 week hiatus). Deadlifts and more today, so we will see how that goes tonight.
12/13 - 187.0 - Big jump in weight. Was high in sodium and significantly over calories yesterday. Also, I feel like the creatine is kicking in so I expected a higher weight this morning.

Big caloric deficit 4 of last 5 days! Very pleased. I am successfully curbing my calories in little bits here & there, but they add up! Sleeping more.
I got my motivation back❣
1) I realized I exercise a ton. Three times what is “needed to be healthy.”
2) I can feel I’m adding muscle, so scale will stay steady but then drop. AND my goal is Health. Muscles = Health❣
3) I looked over all my monthly average data & saw I need to trim back calories eaten some. Did it!

12/6 154.4 A NEW LOW!! Trend wt: 154.8 Too exciting BMI: Now 23.1 🤩 successfully dropped my calorie intake by >300 per day, compared to November. Ate out breakfast & lunch, though...
12/7 154.8 salty restaurant dinner with my friend
12/8 157 😵 ate lunch out today with DH.
Note for future: Eating out ONCE leads to more days of the same — for me.
12/9 157.4 From Bad to Worse ☹️ I’m completely flummoxed. I never gain this much in 1-2 days. I’ve been exercising, eating fewer calories, drinking water, macros are my normal... sodium is low (although I have eaten out so maybe it’s higher??) a Complete Shock. The only explanation I can fathom is when I eat out, I estimate. At home, I weigh all foods. So accuracy is lower when I eat our. But I could not have been off 3,500 calories x 2.6 lbs over 2 days!
Ate my regular breakfast this morning. I’m sure “this, too, shall pass.”
Hope to be 155 again by end of this Round❗ ✅ I’m not worried, just really surprised. Maybe this is what I needed to decide in my heart if I’m going to maintain or lose now. #SilverLining
12/10 157 Continuing to do all the right things. Re-took measurements & they are the same. Lower body is more toned, though. Reminded myself that I’ve lost almost 35 lbs in the last year — even with this hiccup. Good practice for maintenance & a good reminder that I do much better if I don’t eat out.
12/11 155.4 Terrific. Didn’t eat out, walked a ton, rested, relaxed, ate with 400 calorie deficit.
12/12 155 yay. Didn’t eat out, walked 5 miles (hilly), rested, relaxed, ate with deficit 360 calories.
12/13 153.8 Blinked when I saw the number! My New LOW❣️❣️❣️ Didn’t eat out, walked > 1 hour, made some art, still taking it easy somewhat & regrouping.Ate with a deficit of 457, hoping scale would get back to 154’s.) very encouraging
Average for November 156.59 lbs
Average for December (so far) 155.4
As long as my monthly averages go down by at least one pound, I’m good.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
12/3 130.0 Round 60 end weight
12/4 132.0 Totally expected. CARB LOAD! Satisfied my craving for veggies tempura yesterday! It’s been about 6 months since we last went there.
12/5 133.0 I hardly had any water yesterday and then set my bottle down when we were at Ethel M’s and forgot to pick it up! Carl got up early this morning to take friends to the airport and in an effort to be quiet, dropped something causing me to bolt upright in bed at 3:43AM. I tried to go back to sleep but that didn’t work. It could be the carbs from Monday but I think this higher weight is the result of getting up so early. So I’m having my coffee, and WILL weigh again later. Maybe I’ll try to nap later. I am not a napper. Gym this afternoon with Amy. Treadmill
12/6 131.5 Good day yesterday. Gym @2 today with Amy. Treadmill and weights. Grand-girls have basketball today @ 4:30- one player, one cheerleader. Then I think Jimmy John’s Unwich for dinner and music at Fiesta @6! Busy day!
12/7 132.0 No JJ’s or Fiesta yesterday. My hamstring and neck hurt and it was all I could do to sit on the bleachers and watch the ballgame. Our girls won - big time.
12/8 132.0 Hamstring was better yesterday but neck was not. Finally got to sleep at almost 2AM this morning. Used a 4 year expired “heat wrap” on my neck/shoulder.
12/9 132.0 Met up with Fluffy and her husband last evening. She was talking to another lady and somehow my diet crept into the conversation. She was saying, “Jaine could have . . . Oh no, you can’t eat that, well, (pause, repeat, pause, repeat) I said, “I CAN eat anything, I choose not to.” Then more to the other lady she said, “I’m so glad Joe likes me fluffy!” Personally, I’m glad I don’t take insulin or other diabetes meds or have to have my A1C checked multiple times per year. Went to bed just before midnight and I didn’t sleep well. I may sleep in the recliner tonight.
12/10 132.5 Went to champagne brunch, our OMAD. I ate Keto except a small spring roll HOWEVER, I drank way more champagne than I should have! Spent all day yesterday in a chair with the heating pad wrapped around my neck. Bought Salonpas to see if that would help my neck. It seems to be much better this morning but I’m worried that I will do something to aggravate it.
12/11 134.0 Delayed affect of the champagne? The only food I ate yesterday was a large Greek Salad. I weighed the same thing 3 months ago today, 2 days after our last cruise ended. Until I looked back at my journal and saw that, I was feeling quite distressed. I’m okay now. I know I overindulged on Sunday so as long as I stick to my plan, I’ll ride the wave and be back where I want to be in a couple of days.
12/12 133.0
12/13 132.0 I looked at the community calendar last night and realized the holiday dinner is this week not next week. But it doesn’t matter, we didn’t buy tickets so I guess I’ll save my holiday dress for February on the cruise.11 -

Round 61
Please join us! Starting on 12/04 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 61
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

12/04 143.3 ~ (Steps 18,664) ~ Hopefully my weight will continue to drop, consistency is the key, NO to LNS.
12/05 142.2 ~ (Steps 21,741) ~ Yesterday was a really successful day for healthy food choices, it felt great getting a pool session in. Tonight my husband and I are going to Fantasy Lights after going out to dinner. My goal is to stick to healthy food choices for dinner.
12/06 - x - Struggled with my food yesterday, not proud 😈😭😫 of my food choices but onwards to making better food choices today.
12/07 144.4 ~ (Steps 22,846) ~ Yesterday, I was able to get a Body Works Class in finally. It’s been about two months since I’ve been able to make a class. I’m actually really sore, which is a good sore. Hopefully next Thursday I can make another class. My weight gain isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, I’ll take it. Here’s to the next 6 days making them count.....
12/08 144.9 ~ (Steps 17,177)
12/09 146.8 ~ (Steps 12,747) ~ I seriously need to get a handle on my food choices

12/11 145.3 ~ (Steps 23,931) ~ Needless to say I was able to continue Christmas decorating, real successful day in eating healthy plus getting a pool session helped tremendously.
12/12 145.8 ~ (Steps 17,475) ~ 😢😢
12/13 145 ~ (Steps 21,450) ~ Unfortunately I’ve gained this round 😈😭, bring on round 62.

@dowhatrightis 🤣🤣🤣 that Rick and morty comment got me lmao2

@dowhatrightis Are you tracking your macros? I don’t count calories. Meeting your protein macro is most important, using healthy fats to satisfy and your carbs should be healthy carbs and not exceed your macro. Carbs are a limit, protein a goal, fat a lever. Do you test your Ketones?1

Starting Weight 175-178
Current Weight 155.0 end of round 60 (ended on a Monday, always my highest day of the week)
Goal Weight 140
Hopefully I can be really good in this round and be in the low 150's consistently. My DH will be gone this whole week on a business trip so it's just the kids and I. I haven't figured out if that is going to be good for me or really bad for me yet. I ended the last round kind of high so hoping to start this one lower right away. Ending on a Monday is probably never going to work in my favor. The weekends are my enemy!
12/04 - 153.4 This is what I was wanting to end the last round with, but that Taco Bell from Saturday night killed me for 2 days. Oh well, ate below calories again yesterday because I knew I was going to lunch today. My sister has been deployed for the last year and is coming home. We are all meeting her at the airport and taking her to lunch. Going to try and eat sensible, but no matter what I do I always gain when I eat out. At least I saw this today and I'm just going to enjoy myself. Hopefully won't hurt me to bad tomorrow. If I can finish this round at 152 or 151 I will be happy.
12/05 - 153.2 Loss of .2, I will take it. Went to lunch yesterday and still had a little loss. Little mile stones are what I need now. Chose healthy foods and didn't have an alcoholic drink. I also had a light dinner once I got home and it all worked out. Have my day planned again today, so maybe I will see 152.xx tomorrow.
12/06 - 152.4 Back down to last Saturdays weight. I have been all over the place this time around. I think my husband being gone this week has been a little more stressful than I thought it would be. Did well on calories yesterday and so far today. Hopefully by tomorrow or Saturday I will see a lower number.
12/07 - 152.3 Down an ounce I guess I can't complain. My husband will be home tomorrow, and am looking forward to having him back. I didn't realize how much he really does help, even if it just keeping the kids tamed so I can do dinner or homework, lol. He hasn't traveled in a long time for work, so him being gone a week has been harder than I thought. He used to do it all of the time and it never bothered me. Even my sleep has been off not having him there. The older kids have helped out though and really stepped up, so that's been good. I think this would have been lower, but I decided to have 3 chocolate mini candy bars last night at 9 pm. So going to do better today and see what my final weigh in tomorrow is for this week. Now to face the weekend! Uuggghh
12/08 - 151.1 Did't post but weighed
12/09 - 152.6 Busy weekend weighed but didn't post
12/10 - 153.9 There is my usual Monday bump from the weekend. Did really well Saturday. Not so great yesterday. Hopefully I fall tomorrow. We will see. Still should end with a loss this time.
12/11 - 152.1 Coming back down after the weekend. Did well yesterday, normal lunch, made tacos and beans for dinner. I can tell my portion sizes are getting smaller and fill me up without even thinking about it anymore. This round should end in the low 150's. I'm sure I will bounce around 151 and 150 for a week or so. It seems my body knows I am going to drop to a new decade and it holds onto it for dear life. So I don't expect to see 140 something until the end of the next round. It's ok, I'm used to it anymore, lol. Slow progress is still progress
12/12 - 151.1 Back down to Saturdays weight. Maybe I will finish tomorrow with 150 something. Was absolutely starving about midnight last night. So I am going to try and up my calories today by a couple hundred. I have been trying to eat at a deficit the last couple of weeks to hit 148 by Christmas, but I think it is getting to me. At least we are ending this round on a weekday so I will show a loss this time. Can’t believe 2018 is almost over. I was hoping to hit my 30 pound loss by the end of this year. I may have to settle for 27 or 28. Which is still good.
12/13 - 150.4 I will take this and run. 5 more pounds to 145(my first goal) and I am at my do not go over weight and my first goal. Changed my ugw to 135ish. I am only 5'3" but I have 36DD breasts, so I think once I get any skinnier than that it just looks awkward on me. I guess we will see once I meet that if I want to change again. Super happy with this round. The last 2 weeks I have worked to find balance with everything. I do think it is a big loss from the last round, but that's because the last round ended on a Monday (my highest day no matter what) and ended on a Thursday. So good luck everybody on round 62. See you there!

Round 61 SW: 220
12/4—216.2—That's 3.8 pounds since yesterday. The amount of water I was retaining with TOM was pretty impressive! Still not feeling great, but improving.
12/5—216.8—A bump up but this was an early weigh in. Not a real gain. I'm in week 3 of my pushups challenge and I can really see my improvement. I'm getting stronger every day!
12/6—217.8—Huh.
12/7—217—I'm all over the place! That's so TOM!
12/8—214.2—I like that better. This is a new low. I'm closing in on 40 pounds lost.
12/9—215—Always have to bounce around for a while after I hit a new low.
12/10—216.4—I made many bad choices yesterday. Not an astonishing amount over calories, but enough that when coupled with a salt fandango is going to show up for a day or two. I also have a cold, which is making me really grumpy. Bah.
12/11—216.4—The cold may be getting a bit better. I exercised a lot yesterday and ate a lot, too.
12/12—216.8—Exercised a ton, ate much less, but had a dish that I think was 50% salt. (It was delicious!)
12/13—217—Some digestive funkiness going on. A ton of exercise: cardio, flex, and strength. Good eating again.13 -
@puttyputty Don't you love that this thread helps us understand that fluctuations are just part of the process? Congrats on your ongoing progress and you will be back to that new low in a blinkity-blink7

Absolutely! I find the data fascinating. It's fun to me to step on the scale right before bed and make a prediction for where I'll be in the morning. I'm getting pretty good!10 -
22nd Round for me: Female 65, height – 5’
Here we are again. Looked over all my rounds and realized that I’ve only lost around 3 lb. total. 😖 I’d lost about 4 lb. on MFP before joining this challenge. I feel like I’ve lost around 10 – which I have. I also gained 7. Have to be less complacent about it. I’m going to apply to go on a short course in April. That is 10-12 weeks away. So my more immediate goal is to lose 1 lb/round. The course is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time – I don’t have to lose weight for it but it would be sweet if I did.
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 – 160.8
12/05 – 161.2 – Finished my part-time work on Tues. and instead of jumping into all the other stuff I now have time for, I have spent two days mostly wasting time. I did get to the gym this morning though and think I’ve got my head together for tomorrow so I don’t fritter it away as well.
12/06 – 161.2 – Despite going to the gym, calories were a couple of deserts over yesterday and about the same the previous two days so will take this weight and be thankful.
12/07 – 162.2 – Well now see the bump up and yesterday was not good either. Too much chocolate. Signed up for Shrink Yourself when it was on Black Friday sale (annoyed that it went even cheaper after B. Friday). Starting to use their “pause a moment and think” when I feel like snacking. The think part is admitting that this is emotional eating, why am I really doing this, what can I do to address the problem/stress that would work better than eating. If I can just do that I’m OK. So my goal for today to get out of the mini-binge hole is to “pause & think.”
12/08 – 162 – Good day yesterday, concert tonight; leave home at 4:30 and back around 9:30ish so will be a challenge for meals. Guess I should take a good snack and have something healthy when I get home. After all the organizing stuff we will likely be sitting around for 45 min. but not enough time to make it worth going home.
12/09 - 162
12/10 – 161.6 Managed to get through tea & treats times on Sat and Sun with moderation. The food on Sunday was amazing – provided by a lady who is opening a new bakery. Good thing I got there late, really just to pick up my husband, so only had a cookie, a pastry and fruit. Not a great day overall though as I had no proper supper just a lot of snacks which always adds up to more calories in the end.
12/11
12/12 – 160.8- Hit with the cold/flu Monday night so just dragged around yesterday and slept alot. Today feel like I can do something if I take it slow although still have sore throat/coughing. Supposed to have another concert tonight but I think they will be better without me – can barely talk. It was good for the weight thoughI managed to keep food down but just ate very small portions yesterday.
12/13 – 160.2 – Coughing away but feeling OK. Have a very relaxed Christmas this year, likely just me and hubby, and am so ok with that. We saw all our kids/grandkids during the summer for longer visits and now are starting on getting the house ready to sell so that we can move closer to them. An exciting and scary project. Maybe I should think of it as a weight loss journey for my house, ha, ha!13 -

This is my second round, very excited! My main goal for this round is to just not put weight on. December is a huge month of celebrations in Australia with Summer and Christmas but I'm going to try and stay focused during the many festivities coming up over the next 10 days!!
Update: have been MIA the last few days not logging my entries due to a mix of travel, not being able to weigh in and knowing I wouldn't like the results if I could. My whole thing is about accountability, this isn't good enough, I need to do better!
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 - 95.7kg - was a little relaxed today and it shows unfortunately
12/05 - DNW
12/06 - 97.1kg - to be expected has been a very festive week, hopefully can get back on track over the next few days
12/07 - DNW
12/08 - 95.6kg - very proud of my food and exercise efforts today, really took it to the next level!! Suspect I may be a little dehydrated though
12/09 - 95kg - another good day, did struggle with some cravings though
12/10 - 94.7kg - just waiting for that dreaded platuea, will try introducing some new exercise routines to hold it off
12/11 - 94.2kg - surprised with the result, total calories were down but I did eat a lot of bread. Still need more water!!
12/12 - 94.1kg - really struggled with energy levels today had to up the protein, drank lots of water tho!!
12/13 - 93.8kg - food and exercise good although still not feeling great physically. Hoping it's just my body resisting the positive change and I can push through.
2nd Round complete and feeling really proud of myself!! This round was much harder than the first especially staying focused while life kept getting in the way!
