I’m new too. Have been on WW for many years. Successful in earlier years but trying to stay on a plan has been my problem. Lacking motivation and support. My doctor and a friend recommended MFP so thought I’d give it a whirl. Thank you.266

Hello all! Relatively new to MFP, but really enjoy fitness and nutrition. Ready to take on 2019 with a scaled up running plan, and commitment to enhance my healthy eating. Happy New Year and all the best in 2019!54

Good morning! So they say New year New you! I’m new here and already loving this app. I’m excited to see just how motivated and goal orientated I can be towards my weight loss journey. Hoping we all meet our goals and maintain!! Here’s to a healthier me!24
-
It looks like there is more to this app than just tracking calories. I hope there is at least one group out there that is fun, not easily offended and willing to help each other achieve our goals. Let me know if anyone has a group like that. Otherwise, I hope you all find the determination it takes to make a healthy life style a habit. This will not be easy, but it will be worth it.36

Happy New Year to all! My name is Christiane and I'm starting over! Not just with food and fitness, but life in general. I got married in September to my HS boyfriend and I'm determined to shed a few pounds before we go to Maui in March for my birthday. Wishing all of you the best on your weight loss journey!19

Happy New Year All. We know why we here...those awful pounds gained during the festivities but also, those pounds from the 2018 resolution that never came off and that you gained. I am here, trying, that's all I can say! I am overweight at the big 235, I was 215 5 months ago, my metabolism is slow, I have 2 small children and work all day in a slow pace environment. I don't want to spend my free time in the gym and miss the precious years by their side but I also cannot afford to go to the stores and not find cute clothes or not feeling sexy at all for my husband but primarily not feeling sexy on my skin.trying counts! #staypositive #damnpounds45

Happy New Year! Ready to lose 20 pounds in 2019! I don’t eat meat, so am looking for ideas for healthy protein (shrimp, fish, eggs, etc.). I know I need to cut carbs. Luckily, I love veggies!14

Hi all! I’m new. Looking to reduce body fat to 20% or less. Harder to do in my 50’s... but I’m giving it a shot!43
-
I am not new...I have been on and off this site since 09...I am a yo yo dieter and I get frustrated and delete my account...2019 will be the year I make it to my goal and KEEP IT OFF....Wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR...wishing everyone much success on their journey ....feel free to add me43

Butterfly Bren you don't necessarily have to cut carbs just get rid of refined ones and go into a calorie deficit but I understand why you would want to cut carbs as it lowers your appetite but eating fiber revs up metabolism.for me I can't do low carb it gives me headaches so i just eat plant based with some meat.but each individual is different.24

Looking to drop about 40 lbs. I would be happy with 30 and ecstatic with 50, so I will split the difference:-). I am 58 and newly diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. Mild walking is the only exercise encouraged so I am looking to monitor my nutrient level and calorie intake to help me reach my goal. This seems like a fun system to use for tracking. Happy New Year and Best wishes to us all!!!67

Good morning everyone and happy New Year. I'm back after a 6 month hiatus.15
-
Hello all. I first joined My Fitness Pal in 2017 but I have not consistently been on here. I have 80+ pounds to release. I have seen success before and backtracked many, many times. The process of shifting my mindset from diet to lifestyle has been a challenge, to say the least. This is my first post and I'm looking forward to interacting with you all on here. Happy New Year!21

New to the app. But been lifting 20+ years. Ex British army then came to the USA to work for a private military contractor. The gym is one of my outlets. Was always taught exercise is the number 1 anti depressant ever created!27

Happy New Year everyone. I was using MFP back in 2012 and lost about 60 pounds, unfortunately I let it all go, gained it back and then some. So here I am again to tooooootally redeem myself and get this under wraps. Good luck to everyone trying to lose or maintain. I'm just starting over so feel free to add/friend me, however this works and I will return the sentiments.14
