Today I walked 1 (out 5) miles at 15:34 min/mile. Last month, over the same distance, my fastest mile was at 17:35!27

Gained 3lbs since Dec 1st but lost 2”!!! I hope my weight goes down again as holidays are over now.21

Managed to get at least a short walk in on 6 out of 10 days we were traveling for the holidays!21

Made it back to the gym for the first time in months. Even though it snowed 5 inches(also for the first time in a while) , and I didn't want to go out in the cold. I went any way, and felt great after I did!28

I've gone from consistently walking 1.5-2 miles (and struggling a bit) in June to consistently walking 3 miles (with ease). I don't go as often as I'd like because it's the rainy season here, but I'm pretty proud of the improvement.
I often chat with a friend, and he's noticed the improvement just in the decrease of my heavy panting on the steep hill. I don't care how much easier that hill has gotten, I will always despise that hill. That is the hill from heck and it can heck right the heck off. The silver lining of the Heck Hill is there is often a random kitty at the top.
I've just ordered new running shoes and I'm hoping to transition from walking to jogging this year. I tried a couple of months ago, and managed a 15 minute mile (!!! if only I could apply that retroactively to my middle school gym class grades ), but my shoes aren't really the right type for it, and it led to knee and shin pain. So I've just focused on increasing my walking distance.25 -
The shocked look and pride in my family’s eyes after seeing them for the first time in over a year! I didn’t say anything about loosing weight so it was a big surprise.
Also ate reasonably over the holidays with some indulgence but also was active in some way each day.
Stayed the same size as before Christmas holidays and am back to my regular routine!

I can do this again...neglected my health and weight for too long.
Need to do this for me.26 -
Bought a bag of bite size variety chocolates the other day to have one each night for my dessert since I feel like I am finally in control of my eating. I've had like 4, I find myself reaching for the yoghurt (weighed out and logged of course) most nights instead. This is huge because I've never been a yoghurt person (granted they are a Raspberry and Coconut one and a toffee flavoured one, but still, it's yoghurt, and I'm controlling my portions and what's more- I don't feel like I need or want more after I finish that portion.22

Once it gets to October I usually just say screw it ,I will start again in January and go crazy with my food intake for the holidays especially desserts. I mean like baking a whole cake and eating almost all of it in one sitting. Over the 2017 holiday season I gained 50 lbs and spent all of 2018 trying to lose it. My NSV is that I learned my lesson and did not go crazy,i went to the gym and only had 2 slices of cake.I lost 2 inches off my waist over the holidays.41

Didn't eat all the snacks I bought for new years.23

I figured out how to avoid binge-eating at well-catered parties.
The tactic that failed: deciding to use the party food as dinner, trying to hold back enough calories to eat plenty of nice things, turning up ravenous, and then filling up all that calorie allowance with tasty little morsels while still feeling I hadn't really had my dinner's worth
The tactic that worked: deciding to mostly ignore the party food, eating as normal, turning up with a couple of hundred calories in hand to use on one or two special treats.35 -

First day and I realized I have 1000 calories left and I was full all day. Really eye opening exactly what garbage I have been eating to have been maintaining or gaining so much weight.26

I said no to TAMALES this morning.21

I had the hubby drag the treadmill out of the Arizona Room and place it in the dining room, in an empty corner that has a window near it. Last night was my first walk/jog on the treadmill and I loved it! When it was in the Arizona room, I would go days without seeing it (and what's worse, months without using it). Now that I see it daily and enjoy the view out of the window, I am more excited to get on and get my steps in.28

My parents love my cooking (used to get made fun of for being a picky eater) and told me that I inspired them to really start eating better and making better health choices. That felt really good.36

I went to get my car inspected and my husband drove. The passenger side seatbelt never fit me before. I always had to use an extender. This time though I didn't need the extender! I was able to buckle the seatbelt without any help.49

I am overall down a size in pants. A couple of pairs I have I am finally able to button. They aren't quite wearing-ready yet, but they go on. So that was exciting.29

Did a News Years day 5k (walked), started logging today after taking 2 weeks off. It’s a start. :-)25

When I use a certain belt, I get more cinch hang.

Being able to easily do up my seatbelt on the airplane and actually having to tighten it. Before I needed the seatbelt extender.30

Great job 👍
I’m going overseas in April, that is my goal!11 -
I bought, and am currently wearing, bright orange/coral snakeskin print workout leggings. All of my workout pants are black or gray, with the brightest being blue. Wearing anything this bright, no less on my legs, is way outside my normal instinct to wear black to hide lumps and bumps.38

Made day 2 of Couch 2 5k at the gym. The running for 1 minute part is going so much easier then I expected. This time last year running (well, jogging) for 1 minute would have had me gasping for breath 30 seconds in. Now at the end of the minute I'm thinking "oh it's over?" So I must have improved my cardiovascular health over last year. YAY... But I did not expect to be this sore... It took 2 days to recover from day 1. I expect about the same from day 2. With all the things I did to improve my health last year, I apparently overlooked running. LOL.24

I have finally reached the point where a work out is invigorating not exhausting!36

I really enjoyed jogging while visiting family in Texas. The mild weather and low altitude combined with my slimmer body meant I could easily jog for 30 minutes and kept increasing my pace. It also felt like a milestone to not “force” myself to jog. I really wanted to do it because it felt so good and it helped me get time to myself.
So yesterday I was not as excited to go jogging back at home: 40 degrees Fahrenheit, 5,000 feet altitude. But I still managed to keep almost the same pace for the first mile, and I still managed to jog for almost 30 minutes. More importantly, it STILL felt fantastic!32 -

Yes! Me too. What was killing me two months ago now feels like a warm up.

Received a belated Christmas gift delivery from my office landlord. Another 1-lb. box of See's candies. Historically, I've always had a race to see how fast I could "destroy" and empty the box. This year I gave it to my office assistant and told her to enjoy. I'm being 100 percent disciplined and have made the decision, even though I know I could eat some, that I'm not eating any cakes, cookies, candies, chocolate, ice cream, crackers or chips.
What's the old TV commercial for Lay's Potato Chips, "Bet you can't eat just one."18 -
My blood pressure this morning at the doctor's office was 112/70 - despite my having bronchitis. The doctor I saw, who is not my normal GP, also did the, "so - you're really healthy aren't you?" By which she didn't just mean weight (which was nice).25
