Today I did levels 2, 3 and 1, in that order...I did not have a lot of energy by the time I was doing level 1 at the end but I did it!!!! :flowerforyou:
I'm afraid I'd have a seizure!!! HA!!!:laugh: No, seriously, as soon as I'm up to it, I'm going for it...I love how good I feel after that workout...I feel like I've REALLY worked out hard in just 25 minutes. I bet you sleep really well afterward!!!???0 -

You and me both Mickie. Yesterday I thought about doing more than one level and then changed my mind. Thank goodness because level 3 is still killing me! Did I mention I find it very difficult? It is all that explosive moves. I will finish out the 30 days on level 3 then I'm thinking about just doing my favs from all 3 levels. I actually like the push-ups and am considering doing the 100 pushups challenge.0 -
Yes, challenge yourselves!!!!!!!!!!! You can start by doing two levels at a time first. I am a little injured right now so I am going to miss it :brokenheart: Maybe I can still do it but modify the jumping and things that put too much stress on my feet....I think I am going to try that tomorrow morning and see how I feel...what do you think Duffy? Would I still be overdoing it? Keep shredding gals!! :flowerforyou:0

I'm still planning to move up to Level 3 on Sunday..but suddenly, I've noticed some of the arm movements are killing me. It's weird, I was able to get through all of them before, now I have to take a quick break here and there. Does anyone else find themselves doing that? For me, it's especially with the military press one.
Alf...what on earth did you do? Is it your ankle???? I hope you are on the mend soon!!!:flowerforyou:

I love Jillian Michaels! I've been doing her 30 day shred off and on for a few weeks. Does anyone know if it's alright (beneficial) to keep doing the same exercises every day? I feel like I'm suppose to rest the muscle, or something. BTW, she nearly "killed" me in Metabolism Boast! Have you tried it? I quit exercising this week, because my feet hurt. So, make certain all of you has adequate arch support. I'm afraid I gained some weight back. :sad:0

That's interesting that your feet hurt...some of us have been complaining about our feet or ankles...but I got sick and had to take a rest, and now that I'm back, it doesn't bother me too much....it mostly hurt in Level 1. ??? I haven't tried Metabolism Boost...is it harder than The Shred?
I have heard some people do an "off day" with the Shred...I've been taking one day off, and two if my schedule gets too crazy...but doing it everyday keeps my weight in check, I've noticed! (So far....don't want to jinx myself)!:laugh:
I'm so tempted to try Level 3 today...but I'm going to try to wait and do it tomorrow. Instead, i think I will do Power Sculpt and Level 2 today...that should be a really intense workout!0 -

I'm not sure if you can adequately modify the shred and heal your foot. I'm liking my Power 90 Cardio Circuit for my low impact work outs because it is very easy to maintain your heart rate without pounding the feet, ankles, knees etc.
Alf: I don't suppose you can get to a pool. That would be the best right now and I'm always amazed at how I'm huffing and puffing swimming laps.
Next week I'm going to try combining levels. I'm making it through level 3 but it is definitely my least favorite of the 3. 2 is probably my fav.0 -
Thank you for your concern Mickie!! I am doing alright...I was supposed to shred yesterday but I did the stationary bike instead. This morning I wanted to shred so bad that I did!! But I modified all the jumping, everything else I did the same. I noticed I had so much more energy to do the strenght parts when I did not do so much jumping. I also burned a lot of calories for not jumping so much...I did levels 3, 1 and 2, in that order. I burned 509 cals. My average HR was 130, my max was 164!! (I am 45 yrs old). So that was pretty good for not doing it all the way. My foot has not hurt at all today.
I am no expert but please try not to do this dvd every day. I really think you should do it every other day. You are still using light weight because she does so many reps but you are still doing some resistance training. I have never done it every day. And when you think one level is not enough do two at a time or three if you want!! Or do one level two or three times...

Oh, and forgot to add!!! Please stretch longer!!!!! Their stretches are not enough!!! You should hold your stretches for about 30 seconds and stretch all the muscles you used. :flowerforyou:0

I absolutely agree! The stretching is NOT long enough. I've found that if I go take the dogs for a walk right after, that's a pretty good cool down for me....Today I'm going to be a manic....30 min of Spin Cycle, 20 of Power Sculpt, Shred Level 2, then 20 min of pilates. I just feel so energetic today and I really want to get into it (plus, TOTAL TRUTH ALERT, I found some See's Candy in my "Emergency Chocolate Cupboard"...and well, I want some of it...but I know I have to earn it through exercise!!!!) :laugh:0 -

I did it! I did it! I did it!!! AND....I SURVIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Albeit, I modified a bit more than usual for my knee, but I did Level 3 just moments ago!!!! And I didn't think it was all that bad!!! I agree with Alf...Level 2 is my favorite, but I kinda like some of the new stuff in Level 3!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited, I just had to share!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:happy:

Okay..I may be crazy, but I don't think Level 3 is kicking my booty as much as Level 2 did? And I'm stuck again at the same weight for about a week and 1/2...actually I went up 2 ounces...I'd rather go down 2! Soooooo....is anyone else experiencing this too?????0

I'm hoping it is just an adjustment to my metabolism. I'm going to try the zig zag thing next week and make sure I'm eating my exercise calories. Body Fat is down below 20% so it may be just those last nasty pounds are going to be hard to get off.0

Thanks so much! I think I'm goign back to Level 2...I might start doing Level 2 and then add Level 3 on a couple of days a week....I DESPISE Level 1...if I never do that Level again, I'm okay with it! :happy: Let me know how your zig-zag goes...I'd love to know your results! ~M~0 -
I did level 2 again today. I do like it better than 3 also. And if you really like 2 but want to bump it up a notch, you could just us light hand weights durring some of the cardio-like they do in level 3. And now that I know it well, I always get a few more reps in while Jill is explaining the move. I have also muted Jill and been using my own ipod for music. But I have yet to try level 2 followed by level 3.0

Mickie - it has taken me all week to figure this zig zagging thing out. I will start in earnest next week plus I ordered a HRM so that I can more accurately track my exercise calories. Hopefully the combination will start the scale moving again. If not I'm going to focus on inches and % body fat for awhile.0 -

I did all three levels this morning, 610 cals burned. What I do is to increase the weights. I would not use ankle weights, too stressful for your joints. I also do more reps of the exercises while she is explaining something. I also wear my IPod so I am dancing and moving the whole time.
This is the second week of zig zagging and I really think it has worked for me. I like doing it. I love variety. I have a hard time on low days but I know I will get to eat more the next day so I hang in there...:laugh:

I've never done level 3 by itself. I always lose weight when I shred consistently (every other day), two or three levels at a time. :flowerforyou:0 -

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I even survived and I am breathing....NORMALLY!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did Levels 2 & 3...it really wasn't that bad.
Alf---so you're saying you seeing really good results by doing it every other day? I think I'll try that too! Also...just for the record...your flower picture is so ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :happy: :flowerforyou:

That's what I'm talking about!!! :laugh: Yes, I've never done the shred video every day, even if you are lifting light weight you have to give your muscles at least a day of rest. You can do some other kind of exercises on the days you are not shredding. For example today I did 35 mins on the stationary bike and 40 on the treadmill, intervals. Today is a high calorie day for me so I wanted to do a long cardio session. :noway: :laugh:

I do the 50 mins of BL Cardio Max and then the 20 mins of Jillians Cardio Kickboxing and I have been logging them in as cardio....please post here if you find out differently. I would not have thought to list them under circuit, but, I am relatively new to all this exercise stuff....

I did enjoy Cardio Max, it really goes by fast. I would enjoy it more if Bob would take his shirt off durring it. Would give me something to look at: ) Today was my first day doing it. When I do the Shred I log it in Cardio as Circuit training. It gives me 157 calories burned for the 20 min. I would say the workouts are similar in a lot of ways.0
