JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ ROUND 66

@BethE238 When I started my keto journey I was not tracking but I did notice that the rare days I had a glass or 2 of wine, my losing stopped. Too much sugar in them, even the dry ones. Unsweetened spirits (vodka, whiskey, etc. mixed with seltzer or diet tonic) don’t have that effect and I don’t drink as much as I did of the sweetened anything varieties. Those carbs are a weight loss killer for me. Just a thought.5

Day/Weight/Comment
1/23: 218.6 @ 6:30am (meditated 15 mins & exercised 60+)
1/24: 217.8 @ 7:00am - body isn't sore, but struggling to push myself today. Planning to drink a gallon of water and try a new workout. 🤞 .... (exercised 60+)
1/25: 216.9 @ 7:30am - FAIL on the water yesterday, but found a 3 day flexibility challenge I'm gonna need more than 3 days for, lolololo. Exercise earlier was mostly cleaning but will get in a good walk at lunchtime. Dinner out tonight and Sunday so pretty much in party mode til Monday. 😜🍸💃 Have a great weekend everyone. Enjoy!!! (20mins meditation & exercised 60+)
1/26: 217.0 @ 8:30am One Year MFP Anniversary and exactly 61 pounds down! I also earned a new NSV at Red Lobster last night with amazingly only ONE cheddar biscuit people, lol ~ That's HUUUGGGGE!!!! Not only do I usually eat way more than I'd like to admit, I always took some home for later. Didn't happen!!! Everyone laughed while I picked on it like a bird, but like Judy Garland I sang "I don't care, I don't care .... " all the night long (no exercise or meditation)
1/27: 216.6 @ 6:00am - 15 mins meditation & 60 mins exercise done. Have a great day everyone!
1/28: 217.0 @ 8:00am - uuggh, was expecting a bump after my cheat day yesterday so no surprise, but I am sick of seeing this number! Time for a reset!!! Keeping IF 16/8 but ditching Keto, going back to LC eating and starting a new 8 week plan to shake things up a bit. No looking back!

My 26th round
Goals for this round 175.x and - track everything!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 177.6
01/24 177.2
01/25 176.0 I suspect that is the end of the water woosh and things will slow down again now. I still don"t have a fridge or a stove but I have started getting the cupboards and small appliances organized. The cupboards are configured differently than before so it takes some trial and error, but it is very nice to have a new clean kitchen! I think that the first thing I will cook when I get my appliances in chicken picatta - I've never made it before but this seems like a good time to try new things.
01/26 DNW
01/27 177.6 I was basically AWOL yesterday, got my workout in but did not weigh or track. Got up stupidly early to get DS1 out the door for a tournament. In the afternoon I attended a memorial service for a dear friend, mass followed by a series of presentations followed by a reception followed by a party. Dinner was take out Chinese food. I expect some of this gain is sodium related. Back to kitchen unpacking today after I catch up on all the posts here.
01/28 179.0 No good reason, no extenuating circumstances - I just did not have my act together yesterday.

Round 66 – 2nd round
Female, 41, 5’9”, Central Ohio
1/23/01: 336 (WLS op) – the first day of the rest of my life
1/1/19: 213.4
UGW 170
SW/ER64 – 205.4
SW/ER65 - 205.4 (0)
Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 - 207.2 (2004 steps) I did NOT want to adult on Tuesday. I called off work and just slept. The eating that I did do wasn’t recorded or measured. No exercise. No meal prep. Meh! Hope to pick myself back up and restart for Wednesday.
01/24 – 207.7 (3459 steps) I got back on track Wednesday. I went back to work and did a TON of meal prep when I got home. I cooked 4 pork chops, 3 round steaks, a package of large shrimp, and a package of scallops for a total of 11 meals to cover me up and thru the weekend. Today is a NEW day!
01/25 – 203.6 (5573 steps) 17 minutes on bike (3.81 miles) – Thursday was an awesome day. I wasn’t hungry. I didn’t snack. Work was stressful to the MAX but I did not ease that stress by eating. I actually allowed myself to have a pint of Halo Top ice cream and will ended up wayyyyyyy under my daily MFP calorie goal! (The shrimp/couscous concoction that I had prepped the other night might have turned out to be an epic fail, but I’m new to actually cooking so I’ll keep trying.)
01/26 - 203.6 (6200 steps) 30 mins on bike (6.44 miles) Friday is family dinner night and we went to Benny’s Pizza (local favorite). I managed to stay in the green on my calories. Good day. Dog sitting over Saturday night for my cousin. Packed a couple meals and I’m all set.
01/27 DNW (9402 steps) Saturday is barn day. Spent 5 hours on the road traveling. I probably got a good 45 minutes of exercise riding Spark (the gelding that I’m leasing). It was COLD! I packed a meal for dinner here at my cousin’s house. I stayed with her 3 dogs overnight. Unfortunately, I gave into LNS since she had cheddar popcorn and frosted mini-wheats. No scale here at her house.
01/28 – 203.6 (3815) Sunday was a relaxing day. No exercise but I kept within my calorie goal, right up until I went to bed. I’m not usally one to really care about the ups and downs from day to day but, I’ll say it’s nice to have seen the same # since 1/25.

01/23 181.9 This is getting to be too much. In 20 days I'm down 1 pound. There is a part of me that thought I'd skip this round. It's too depressing for me when I'm eating within calories and staying focused on exercise with no weight loss. I honestly had one bad calorie day on Sunday, every other day I have been within goal. I keep expecting a whoosh that isn't coming. I need to accept I'm here - not at 178 like I was for a few days. Old Kris tells me to give up and eat whatever I want and how much I want. Screw walking, screw the gym, forget the stupid C25K idea you're too old, fat, out of shape etc. I need to slap the crap out of Old Kris (OK), because that's what I've done every time. Keep me accountable people. I need this challenge.
01/24 181.9 Still here. I walked three freezing miles yesterday and fell on the stupid ice. I'm not walking today, my body is a little sore. I fell on ice twice this week, I think that's a sign. Plus they have temperature warnings for this afternoon, frost bite can set in within 15 minutes of exposure. A good sign to take the night off. My calories were low yesterday, didn't eat back my exercise calories but over on sodium. I guess that's why I'm stuck. On a positive note, have you guys tried the Green Giant Fresh bowls? I had the Teriyaki sauce with sesame seeds bowl last night with a chopped up chicken breast and it was delicious. Thank you again for the support yesterday. The picture below is from my walk yesterday. Stupid winter.
01/25 181.4 Down finally. No exercise, food within goal. It's so cold (overnight 3 degrees, -12 windchill) I couldn't even think about walking outside.
01/26 180.0 I posted this yesterday but somehow it didn’t save.
01/27 178.5 The whoosh that took 10 days??? Who knows who cares, I’m happy with it. Thanks again for the support. You people helped me get back here.
01/28 179.6 Here we go again. I wasn't high on sodium for once and I was under calories (not by a lot but still). I think it will be down tomorrow. As long as it's done by the end of the round. I was happy to be out on the trail yesterday. I got in three miles but even on Sunday was running late. Trying to get too much weekend into one day. Saturday was spent babysitting my 1 yr old niece and attending a friend's granddaughter's wheelchair basketball game. I thought the baby might enjoy the game, instead she spent the entire time watching two kids play in the stands beside us. Hahaha If anyone has the opportunity to go to one of these games, they're not high scoring but they are fun to watch. Our girl is 10 and a blocking fool. On man-to-man coverage she blocked her guy in the corner, I don't think he touched the ball once. Of course she did the same thing on offense so she didn't touch the ball either

My only experience with zucchini noodles was at Noodles & Company. I have tried the Zucchini Romensco, I love the flavor and the everything but it was very upsetting to my stomach. I thought maybe it's a one time deal so after a few months I tried it again - same thing. I get other things there and have never had a stomach issues but I'm kind of scared to try the noodles again. Have you guys had any negative bathroom experiences as a result of too many zucchini noodles? (sorry for the TMI topic) I have eaten zucchini in many ways with no issues before, just curious if it's me or the version Noodles & Company uses.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

Jan 23 - 179.0 - I feel good about round 65 and am ready to start round 66 with a positive attitude.
Jan 24 -178.6 - I am trying very hard to stay busy and not snack my days away. It is harder than it should be.
Jan 25 - 178.4 - I am running out of projects to stay busy. Today and tomorrow I have plans both days so that should help a bit. I’ll keep at it!
Jan 26 - 177.8 - I’m so happy to see this! I had been at 177 the couple days before Christmas and then blew it.
Jan 27 - no scale
Jan 28 - 179.6 - I’m sure this is a lot of water weight from way too much sodium Saturday evening. It always lingers for a couple days in my system.

@FarmerCarla I was binge watching My 600-lb Life this weekend. I had never seen it before and am amazed at the people who eat Willy Nilly and then tell the doctor that the diet (post surgery) is just not working. Not saying that’s what your cousin is doing but the surgery is only a tool. I know my BFF had sleeve done a few years ago. She lost about 90#. She started dating for the first time in over 40 years, met a fellow. They’ve been together for over 2 years but he makes homemade pasta and she has regained a tremendous amount of weight. It makes me sad.5

I made chicken pot pie (single crust) last night - delish! but too much fat (butter, cream...). So I believe veggie soup is on the schedule tonight or tomorrow night! On the plus side, I've been back to weight training for about 3 weeks now and have increased the weights significantly, so am happy to see that I hadn't lost all previous progress on the strength front. Note to women losing weight - take care of your bones during the process! Talk to your doctor about checking Vit D level and your possible need for D and K and magnesium, and keep up weight-bearing exercise. My last DexaScan (bone density) showed significant bone density loss, probably due to significant weight loss the previous 3 years. We have to take care of our bodies as we reshape them.
01/24 - 139.2 - 1743
Last night I made a big pot of minestrone and had that with bread I baked a couple days ago. So good! Off to the gym and planning to hunker down tomorrow - minus 20 wind chill expected. Aaack! Stay warm if you're also in the way of this!
01/25 - 139.2 - 1802
Yep, it's cold outside! Not as bad as predicted, though, so I'll go to the Y. Did I mention I'm a cold weather wimp after 8 years on the southern coast of NC? ;-) Anyway, I'm back on track food wise, finally, and have channeled my baking urge into whole-grain bread instead of cookies and cakes. Better for us and I'm not tempted between meals!
01/26 - 139.2 - 1796
Anyone else in the cold zones inclined to hibernate until March? I love early mornings Spring though Fall, but right now I struggle to get myself out of bed in the morning. My kitten makes sure I get up, though! >^..^< Have a great weekend, all.

I seem to have found equilibrium. I haven't averaged my calories the past couple of days, but my ave should be around 1750-1800 at the moment, and I'm getting away with that because I've increased my exercise. It will increase more when we get out of the deep freeze, but I'm fine with hanging out here for a little while. Speaking of cold, we're supposed to have wind chills of -50F!!!! on Wed., so I intend to stay home and write, paint, read, bake, & cook. Maybe even clean house a little. Anything to stay in! Stay warm and safe, all of you fellow arctic adventurers!

@aFit50 A friend of mine keeps telling me I’m “tiny” but I still see that FAT girl in the mirror. On Friday, when we met our friends for lunch, they both mentioned how slim I am. I have to admit I can see it when I look at my side view in the mirror but straight on, I’m still MENTALLY the fat girl. We’ll get there mentally but it takes time.10

@quiltingjane - thanks! They are definitely extra calories I don’t need with such a high deficit right now. I will add back very mindfully. I am not really into hard alcohol - easier for me to just go without. I’ll keep that in mind for my upcoming conference in a couple weeks though, where I know the beverages will be flowing. Editing to add - you do look tiny in your profile photo!

SW: 210.8
GW: 140ish
R64: 207.8-200.8 (-7.0lbs)
R65: 200.8–200.6 (-0.2lbs)
R66: SW 200.6 GW 197.x
Daily goals: drink 100oz or more of water; no alcohol; stay around my 1200 calories; dedicated 1hr of exercise 8/10 days; 15k steps; 3k calorie burn via Fitbit
1/23: 198.8 - thank goodness! 🤩 Onederland! This was the woosh I was expecting all last round. Hit all my goals yesterday.
1/24: 198.2 - met, and exceeded, all my goals yesterday. Tried drinking 150oz of water, which is recommended for my weight by a lot of calculators, but had to get up 3x during the night, so I’ll stick with the 100oz still, which allows me to sleep through the night. I made oatmeal chocolate chip walnut cookies with the kids yesterday AM, and have so far resisted having one. Normally I would crave one for breakfast with my coffee, but sweet doesn’t sound *as good* in the AMs after trying to do high protein in the mornings for the last month (this is a great NSV for me!), and I know if I start my day with one, it could all go downhill fast. Also, I tried switching 1 of my coffees for 1-2 black teas over the past week, and I was getting headaches, so I am back to coffee with milk (the only time I ever get headaches, for the last 20 years, has been from lack of caffeine.)
1/25: 196.6 - whoa, totally unexpected, but I’ll take it! Had a stressful day, and got some very bad news. Hit all my goals, but didn’t eat nutritiously.
Also, today marks 1 month since I started. I’ve lost 14lbs total, have only had alcohol once (next round I’ll start adding it back carefully - I credit alcohol calories with a majority of my weight gain), feel like I mostly have a good and sustainable routine with getting to the gym (making it routine is always hard for me), and I have more energy in general. I think I’ve lost at least two inches off my waist, but I didn’t measure right away, so I won’t officially measure again until next week. My skin is the most noticeable difference too me - it looks great and glowing with all the water and workouts. This group has been super motivating and inspirational and I appreciate you all! Having a place to report in is definitely helping me stick to my daily goals more than I would have otherwise.
1/27: 197.0 - 😆 oh boy! This is why I didn’t change my goal weight for this round after getting in the 196.x. Was under calories yesterday, and had an extra active day with my kids (and a nap 🎉), but didn’t have dedicated exercise, only got 80oz of water, and my Fitbit needed to be recharged, so I imagine I was close on steps and calories burned but just don’t know for sure.
1/28: 197.2 - I expected this. Extra active day yesterday, hit all my goals, but food was high in sodium. Pre-made steak, chicken, and black beans to use for meals all week, so I feel good about that. However, I am feeling extremely anxious today about some projects I need to start/complete in the next couple of days, so I hope I can handle them well. Hugs appreciated - my stomach is in knots over here.

Please join us! Starting on 01/23 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 66
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

::::::::::::::::::
01/23 129.5 Awake before 5AM again. UGH. I think it’s the neighbor’s dog. Once I sat down with my coffee I listened to it barking from 5:15 until about 6:30 — nonstop!
01/24 130.5 Had Greek salad with gyro, half for lunch, half for dinner yesterday. Finally some bathroom action! Mammo and Dexa this morning, DGDs basketball and cheer tonight.
01/25 129.0 Didn’t go to b-ball because the check engine light went on in my car. Will take it to dealer as we head out of town for the day. Lunch over the hump in Pahrump!
01/26 128.5 Spent a few hours visiting with our friends yesterday and had a wonderful steak salad, well, half of it. I will eat the other half today.
01/27 128.5. Went to the movies to see The Upside (excellent) and picked up BBQ from Tucky’s for dinner.
01/28 128.5 That darn barking dog woke us both before 5!6 -

Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 - 179.6 lbs / I've been doing pretty well so far today. I took a 15 minute walk during my break & I've had 32 oz of water so far. Hopefully, I do well during the whole challenge.
01/24 - 179 exactly today. I did a little cardio when I got home yesterday & didn't have a big dinner.
01/25 - So today I weighed in at 180. I did really good with my calories yesterday, and I worked out after work. Not really sure why the scale doesn't reflect the hard work, but then again I did have a little fried food for dinner
01/26 - 180.6 today. Yesterday was not great calorie wise & tonight I'm taking my mom to a seafood buffet for her birthday. I'll just start fresh tomorrow.
01/27 - 180.2. I did go to the buffet yesterday but amazingly I stuck to only one plate which I couldn't even finish & I didn't have drinks afterwards. I didn't keep track of my meals but I think I did ok in terms of calories. I didn't work out yesterday but today's a new day & I'm ready to start over again.
01/28 - 180.4 / I'm starting to feel really stagnant now. I'm just glad it's Monday because I tend to eat better on days that I work. Hopefully, I at least get down to 178 by the end of this challenge.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/23 222.4 lbs
01/24 222.6 lbs *sick, so no walking or exercise the past couple days. I met my daily goal for water intake and food, so I'm considering it a win.
01/25 222.2 lbs Slow recovery, so still no exercise today. But I'm holding steady with water and no wine. Hoping to get out walking tomorrow.
01/26 223.4 Yikes! Wrong way!
01/27 222.4 Back to the start, but ready to start exercising again. It's a gorgeous day for a walk outside!
01/28 223.4 How?? I had a great day; closed all my circles, drank all my water, 10K steps. My scale seems to love this number. My monthly goal was to lose 8 lbs, so I'm determined to get this down in the next 3 days!
