Ugh shark week. I did not go over my calories a single day and yet.....3 -
Here are my weekly weigh in stats:
SW for this challenge: 208.4
CW: 203.8
GW for this challenge: 199
It was a tough one! I did all things that were right but only lost 0.2 pounds this week. However, my period is starting tomorrow so I know that’s the reason why 😊
We’re almost there!!
SW for this challenge: 208.4
CW: 203.0
GW for this challenge: 199
I lost 0.8 pounds this week without working out and just by calorie counting! I take a break after I finish a workout plan to relax my muscles and it definitely has been helping me mentally this week. Back to the grind on Monday with a new workout plan and we'll see if I can lose those 4 pounds during these next couple of weeks! If I don't, it's okay because I still dropped weight from this challenge. Slow and steady!1 -

Personal goal for Valentines Day => break out of 140's
SW this challenge: 144.6
Dec 21: 143.3 (-1.3 so far)
Dec 28: 144.4 (- 0.2 from SW .... with 4 big meals over the past 14 days, I consider this a maintain-so-far)
Jan 04: 143.7 (- 0.9 from SW .... weighed in ~ 4 hours earlier than last week so even better than number indicated
Jan 11: 144.2 (-0.4 from SW .... weighed in an hour earlier than last week, for the whole past week ...)
Jan 18: 142.6 (-2.0 from SW .... settled back into early weigh-in for two weeks now, and have increase my daily exercise burn for ~10 days now)
Jan 25: 143.0 (-1-6 from SW)
Feb 1 : 142.0 (- 2.6 from SW BUT ALSO measurably down 1 inch off waist and 1/2 " off hips / body fat % calculation lower ..... so SOMETHING is progressing as it should!)
141 is "inside Normal BMI range for me .... so if I don't break all the way through to 139.X by Valentines, I want to get into 140.X with additional measurable NSV advance.
This is still great progress for a 60 yr old !

I'm down 7 pounds so far. It's definitely possible for me to lose 3 more in 2 weeks.2
-
SW 11/12/18 179.4 lbs
1/5/18 169.4 lbs
1/18/19 166.8 lbs
CW 2/2/19 166.2 lbs
GW for Valentine's Day: 164 lbs
I've hit my first plateau, and I am not amused. I've been bouncing around the 166s for over two weeks now with a consistent ~500 kcal deficit. (Yes I'm logging very accurately, and I've even had my RMR measured.)
I know this is well within normal fluctuations- I'm going to let it go and keep on trucking. It's a toss up whether I'll actually see my goal number on the scale by Valentine's Day. If I see no loss by then, I'll reassess my plan.1 -

Not sure what RMR is ....
Are your clothes fitting any looser? have you taken measurements any time recently that you can compare against? You may be like me and recompositioning at the moment ...

I'm down 7.2 lbs total since the start of the challenge. Pretty unlikely I will hit 10 lbs before Valentine's Day. I didn't realize my weight loss would slow so much after Christmas! But I'm still happy that the scale is going down. I might be able to hit at least 8 lbs lost.2 -
Challenge starting weight: 173
Goal for Vday: 163
Today’s weight: 163.8
I had a very minimal (.2lb) loss this week, but I have eaten within my calorie goal so I know it’ll even out at some point. I changed my scale batteries a few days ago so it’s either that or water retention associated with ovulation. 🤷🏼♀️ I think I should still hit goal.
@Running2Fit You’re doing great! I’ve seen your progress on multiple threads and it’s very inspiring. It is less fun when the loss slows down. I shifted from 2 per week to 1 per week a while back and in a few months I’ll be shifting gears down to .5lb per week. I don’t look forward to it, but I know it’s better for the long term.1 -

Congrats on your recomp success @BMcC9 !
RMR = Resting Metabolic Rate, or in plain English the calories you burn when you do no activity all day but still eat normally/move a little. It is not to be confused with BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) which is what you'd burn if you lay in bed all day and never moved. (To be fair, those measurements aren't usually too far off each other.)
I wish I'd been taking measurements, but I haven't. My clothes certainly fit better since I've lost weight, but I'm not sure if they fit better since 2-3 weeks ago. I'm definitely not recomping yet- I have done next to no strength training recently, only running and other cardio which is business as usual for me.
I am training for a race in April. I intend to start focusing on strength/HIIT after that.0 -
@LadySaton - Thank-you! And, yes lowering expectations for a weekly loss is kind of a bummer. Patience is not a strong suit of mine. I feel a weird sort of freedom in lowering my goal to 1 lb a week though. When I started losing weight I had a deadline in my head (my sister-in-law's wedding) for reaching my goal weight and I think I was feeling more pressure because of that self-imposed deadline than I thought. Once my weight loss slowed to 1 lb a week and I accepted that I wouldn't hit my goal weight before the wedding I just feel a lot more relaxed about the whole process. Like I know I'm going to get there and not having a deadline just makes me feel happy every time the scale goes down, even if it's small whereas before if I didn't lose 1.5 lb one week I felt like I would need to make up for it the next.1

It looks like a pound a week! You must not have much to lose, either! I say that’s a win!

@brittlb07 - Yup, I slowed to about 1 lb a week toward the start of this challenge! I only have about 22 more lbs to go so 1 lb a week is pretty reasonable for now. Probably will have to slow to .5 a week eventually.0

Hit 182 today. Started at 190 on January 1st. Another two pounds to go2

Mission I did it! still going to try and lost a bit more by then.

The scale is still be a giant PITA, however, I did a quick measurement today against my 2/1 measurements and I've lost half an inch in the waist...things are definitely happening even if the scale doesn't want to get on board. Clearly I will not make goal, but I'm not quitting either. I'm getting slack about remember to weigh in the mornings, so I want to really focus on that for the last week. It looks like shark week is due to start around the 15th, so the scale will probably not be friendly, but whatever. I'll also try to do measurements on Valentine's day and see if there is progress there, but with bloating, who knows how these things will line out.
This challenge has been fun and I enjoy reading everyone's updates - keep up the great work, the goal line is right around the corner!!!3 -
Update
SW (January 2): 210 lbs

30/01?
06/02?
13/02 ?
This challenge is really keeping me motivated. Eye on the goal. Next week will be better.
