Hi I'm Jenn!! I'm a Newbie hoping to lose weight & maybe get my confidence up to lose weight. I don't want to have a show based on My 300lb Life. So here it goes. 4th day of no Soda, Candy & Foofoo coffees from McDees or KwikStar. Saw my Dr. 2 days ago I've gained 24.8lbs in past 3mths. My med tests all normal. I start seeing a Dieation on Mon. & every week for the next month. So....here we Go!

Welcome to the group! Thank you for sharing. I’m proud of you for taking the first step on your way to discovering a healthier you! We’re here for you the whole way😊

It’s not about how fast you’re moving. As long as you’re moving towards your goals, you are making yourself better. That’s all that matters. Being healthy and strong is a lifelong journey, so you don’t have to rush.

    I agree slowly does it.

When I tried to search for the group under that name, no results came up but I see that I'm a member. I'm confused. Sorry! I've used MFP since 2003 but this is the first time I've been on any of the forums.

Try going to the listing of all groups in community. Then select motivation and support. Scroll to Men & Women in their 50s starting anew in 2019. Hopefully you can find it that way.

@maria6863766, I think it's because this isn't a group, it's a discussion, which may be why you're unable to find it under groups. However, if you click on the star at the top right of the discussion that will bookmark it for you. See image below.

Hey Kids, hope everyone is having a great start to their week! What's everyone have on the agenda today?

I've got Cardio and Abs today. For Cardio I am doing a Sprint / walk Split. So walk for 1min, sprint for 1 min, for a total of 30 minutes. I like doing this, about as much as I like getting punched in the throat... :-)

    Hi Rick,

What are you goals? What kind of time can you dedicate to the Gym? Let me know and I'll help as much as I can.

My wife and I are bowling in a league for the first time. She just turned 60. Im 58.
She finally got wil enough with Humira to bowl again. Now she really loves it. I had always enjoyed bowling but didn't go much in the last decade because she couldn't.
And Sunday we signed up for a second league. Bowling Sunday and Tuesday in leagues. And several other days for practice. :);)B)

Can I still join? I'm Maureen from Colorado Springs, Colorado - now in Kentucky. Lost a buttload of weight 5 years ago on a high protein diet and I (stop me if you've heard this before) gained it all back, and more. I am now 57 and I have MS, a husband, a teenage daughter and a dog. I work full-time, have difficulty walking but need to exercise - and need some accountability and support to *REALLY* make a life change this time. Glad you're all here!

@MaureenInCS, welcome! I have RA and plantar fasciitis so have trouble walking as well. I bought a used recumbent bike a couple of years ago and after using it to hold my coats I now ride it for a minimum of 20 minutes a day. It's easy on the knees and stable.

Swimming is great for a no impact full body workout too. If you have a Y near you, check it ot if you can.
My wife has spondyloarthritis. Deep water aerobics classes really help her with mobility, strength, and endurance.

I am starting back up again this week. I'm not up to my highest weight ever thank god, but I have gained weight over the winter and holidays. I'd love to have some accountability for exercise and diet, and feedback. Just turning 50 this coming year -- hope that qualifies me!

Very good luck in this journey.

Been feeling really sorry for myself lately, so am a bit quiet. Once I snap out of my fugue. I'll start posting again - please bear with me.
