Some of my size 16 jeans are starting to get baggy. Another couple of weeks and I'll be able to shift between size 14 and 16 depending on the cut. I almost forgot what it was like to not have you jeans cutting into your stomach and leaving marks. (I refused to buy the next size up)18

Today I was teaching about how muscles function to move various joints and after lots of blank looks and staring at the diagram, I said “forget it, look here” and let them observe my now observable biceps and triceps in action (I homeschool, so it was just my own kids...bc that might be weird in the classroom 😆)
Also got to talk to them about which muscles they use in climbing—NSV is that we have a family sport to talk about!18 -

Someone brought timbits (like DD munchkins) in for the office and I didn’t eat one. I was tempted, but I resisted. (I believe in indulging, but this was just availability)15

Easy Pose in yoga (sitting cross legged) is not st all Easy for me. But after about two months of sitting in Easy Pose every day, my right leg will finally extend down to hip level. And my left leg has extended a little further.16

Not feeling like I Have to eat things in the staff room! And if I want to, just logging and adjusting instead of shrugging it off, and I'm already seeing my self control reflected on the scale as well!18

Finally achieved my goal: ==>>> 8 pull-ups!!!
It's taken me over 11 months to go from 7 pull-ups to finally this 8th pull-up!!!
I can't find my notes right now, but I'm guessing it's taken me almost 3 years to go from 1 to 8 pull-ups.
Gotta stick with it!!!

1) 20 mile bike ride . . .
. . . and another set of brake blocks.
2) A group of cyclists rode past me today like I was stood still.
I met them again a bit later on, as they were cycling my route but in reverse.
I met them at the halfway point.
So they weren't cycling that much faster than I was after all.10 -

Did my favourite walk in The Lake District (UK) at Easter. The first part normally takes about 1h40mins with at least two stops because it's so steep and I am so out of breath, I'm also usually shattered half way round the walk back. This year I did the first part in 38 mins with no stops at all and completed the rest of the walk with energy to spare. I was a very happy lady indeed that day.
I grew up in the lakes I still love its wildness especially Wasdale and Wastwater

Mine was getting rid of my cast on my leg..... after having surgery ( I had a Tendon ripped of the bone for a year that they missed which has been fixed at last) So onwards and upwards now it can only get better and I can get back to being fit and active15

OK so this is kind of a scale victory, sorry but after speaking with one of the trainers at my gym, we decided it would be better for me to change things up a bit. So I walked away from zumba and picked up the free weights. I was disappointed when I got on the scale only to see that I gained weight. Then I was thrilled to find out that it was actually muscle weight. I even went down in my body fat percentage. It's working.

I have been on BP meds for at least 12 years...thought it was hereditary. Never gave it much thought. I did drink a lot of bourbon though. 5 weeks ago I decided to quit drinking alcohol. 2 weeks later, to my surprise, I was able to stop taking BP meds.
I never thought I would be able to say this, but: I am 58 y.o. and 100% med free.

I'm a high school teacher. A few weeks ago at the gym I saw one of my students. He's a nice enough fellow, but struggles - well, I can't say that because he's done nothing - academically. In my class, he'd never submitted an assignment.
We start running into each other at the gym and next thing you know, we're working out together. Two weeks ago, while spotting each other, I mention casually that if he wants help with his school work, I'll tutor him, but only if he will work as hard in tutoring as he does in the weight room.
He has taken me up on it and has come to my classroom 11 consecutive days for tutoring. And he's working at it. Report from his other teachers is they are beginning too see a real turn around in him.
Too early to tell if it will stick but I feel I'm on the verge of a significant non-scale victory BECAUSE of my efforts to live a healthier life.
Related, just today, he mentioned to another kid that we work out together in the gym. The kid said, and I quote, "That explains why Mr. Morgan is looking skinnier."
Two NSVs in one day!

NSV today is that even though I felt a little hungry after eating dinner (and going a bit over my calorie budget) I ate spinach and then the ice cream I'd already logged and went to bed. No extra snacks or high calorie foods!17

I'm currently considering going back to school so that I may teach one day and these kinds of stories just fuel that desire even more.10 -

I had a visit from the dreaded in-laws today, after which i wanted to punch something and eat my weight in junk food. NSV is that i managed to stay focused and decided i wasn't going to let them ruin all my good work over the last couple of months. I stuck to my pre-logged meal plan, and put all my frustrations into a very sweaty workout!28

I bought biscuits. I ate some biscuits. I ate some more biscuits. I went over my calorie goal, but that's OK, I'm still within maintenance... just another custard creme... ooh, and I'll just tidy up that last mini creme egg... and a bit of that really good dark chocolate... I went over maintenance... my stomach was starting to feel like a sucking black hole, so 'hungry' it was painful, I was clearly entering hideous binge eating territory...
...reader, I stopped eating. I informed myself that if I couldn't control myself around biscuits I would throw away the rest of the tin and never buy any more, and apparently I believed that I was serious (I was).
Ten minutes later I wasn't 'hungry' anymore, but I realised I was dead tired and went to bed. Over my calories by 500; but not by 3,500. I entered binge mode and I got out of it again. And you wouldn't believe how important it is to me right now to know that I can do that59
