My friend Beth went to the wedding because she went to high school with the bride's mother. This is crazy!!!

Did they say why in the world this happened?
State police are investigating and I am not sure if they will ever release what they find. Or when they will find it. It's entirely possible that it was random crazy and not at all related to him being a police officer, but I know he was part of a major opiod bust at the end of last year and it could be revenge for that. Over a million dollars in fentanyl and other drugs were confiscated.
I thought you lived in a quiet, sleepy part of the world?!?!
So did I. Apparently, I was wrong.
The latest update is that it's being investigated as a murder suicide, which is *super weird* because why would you kill your cousin and yourself? Not that the news has said they are cousins. I only know that because Beth told me.
Oh I can think of reasons... Love triangle?
Stereotypes about people from Southern Appalachia not withstanding, there really aren't a lot of incestuous relationships like that happening here. And she doesn't even live here. She was living in Ohio. I guess he could have had a crush on her his whole life without anyone noticing, but I would find that weird.
And as for the huge drug bust, my quiet corner of the world is at the intersection of several major interstates. We have more drug traffic than you'd think or want. I-81 and I-26 intersect about 10 miles from my house. I-40 is less than an hour from me on I-81. I-77 is about an hour and 15 minutes north east and I-75 is an hour and 20 northwest. And that discounts the railroads. You can get anything to anywhere in the continental US from here. A hotel owner reported suspicious activity on his premises and off the investigation went.2 -

Wouldn’t have to be incestuous. Think about BINGO - “l slept with my cousin’s wife”. Maybe this is bingo guy 🤣🤣

Somebody declared in front of me (but not to me, although I was sat next to her) that seeing a lady breastfeeding her baby on her recent flight home was 'gross' and that 'breastfeeding is just unnatural'. I said, actually it's completely natural. Then watched as her brain cells slowly started talking to each other and she remembered I have a baby. Then she said, but how old is your baby, over a year right, that's a bit old to still be breastfeeding? Yes, I said, she's 16 months. I usually breastfeed her once a night. The World Health Organisation recommends breastfeeding up to two years old and beyond I explained.
On the one hand such judgemental ignorance annoys me but on the other hand I was thinking, keep digging your hole, love. I enjoy watching you squirm.
Good for you!0 -

Yikes! A guy somewhere in PA just got busted with over 400+ bags of Heroin in his car. He reportedly got pulled over for having tinted windows.

Nope Carol is bride's mom. Her brother is cop Guy's dad. Her sister is dead girl's mom. They all grew up on my friend Beth's street. If Cop Guy went off the deep end and shot her over some other guy then killed himself it's totally gonna devastate some really nice people. The only gun in the vehicle was his service weapon and it was his vehicle.
How's that for juicy Thursday gossip?1 -

I confess I lost over an hour of sleep in the middle of the night last night because I couldn't turn my brain off. On the list of things driving me crazy and keeping me awake was Lois' maiden name. I could only think of her new last name since marrying Danny. I could not, for the life of me, remember her old one. I know it now and am mad at my brain for not knowing it and for keeping me awake.

Wingate. (I remember because I had a friend named Shannon Wingate in high school. We were seat mates on the band bus.)1

Oops. I really thought I was right. I also think that Lois looks like Shannon, so that's part of my problem.
Sorry, Lois!!! If it makes you feel better Shannon is super great and would fit in well here. LOL!1 -

Oh Kelly poor you! You should have WhatsApped me!! With the time difference I probably would have been awake!2 -

Ha ha ha well at least you did remember it!
And as a side note I’m feeling pretty privileged to have been on your mind!2 -

She is and she plays a mean jazz saxophone. The hours we spent on those school busses... I would die now riding on a school bus, but we loved it.0 -
My little logging streak came to an end because my phone broke. First new phone I've ever had and it bit the dust within three months! Anyway, got my replacement set up, who knows if I can motivate myself to get going again.3

I cut two little triangles in the waist of my jeans in a couple of places because I am too impatient to wait till they fit to wear them. I got em on. (Never mind the muffin top!)4

Yuck.
No one told me I was getting an "urgent" case, involving a state elected official.
And my kid has the legit flu. Fever, chills, throwing up, the works.
So, I will just take my trainee and not complain.
P. S. When is a case involving an elected official not urgent?
Most of them actually aren't. We can take our time and dig deep.
Once in a great while, it's "get this done yesterday"!
Now I'm dying to know what it is (of course I know you can't say).
Hi, all! Just stopping by to check in. Happy early St. Patrick's day!3 -
Can't believe I actually remembered to wear green today.2

That's ok, mine comes to an end most weekends. Somehow I cannot be bothered to log over the weekend. I know I need to do it to be more consistent, but cannot seem to get there.3 -
I skipped right over St. Paddy's day! Falling on a Sunday, I don't really drink much anymore, so it was a quiet day at home. I do confess that I tossed two unopened boxes of Girl Scout cookies, because I literally cannot stop myself from eating them otherwise.3

Saw the surgeon this afternoon. Pre-op tomorrow after work and surgery to take out my gallbladder and its 2.1 cm stone in Thursday morning. Yikes!!
Dr. Jackson does not want it to rupture so we're doing it at the first available slot. Thursday is usually her day off.5 -

Good luck Mel, I hope this alleviates your problem quickly.
I am slightly curious that you know the surgeon in advance. Unless it's something super specific and specialist, you get whoever you get on the day on the NHS. Doesn't bother me as they're all of a certain standard, but I could certainly tell which one of my csection surgeons was better at pretty sewing!0 -

In the states, unless it's an emergency, your primary care provider refers you to a surgeon. You meet with them and schedule your procedure, then follow up with the sane surgeon for 90 days.
My primary care doctor runs the free medical clinic at my church. I volunteer there at least twice a month. Two of the surgeons at my home hospital (the health system I work for has 21, my home hospital is where I work) volunteer there to do surgery and follow ups for our patients. Dr. Jackson is one of them and my doc referreded me to her. She usually has a surgery clinic there on Thursday mornings, but this week we have a 2 day dental clinic happening and have no room for her so she is going to do my surgery on her day off instead.
I would have known who my surgeon was regardless, but I am glad it's Dr. Jackson. She has volunteered with us for 4 years and had 5 free clinic patients readmitted for complications in that time. Her readmit rate at the hospital is a little higher, but not a lot. She's a good person and an excellent surgeon. (And she sews pretty from what I've seen at the clinic. Our free patients are always surprised that our docs treat them like paying patients.)3
