I've seen people palm the floor with their feet apart and their knees locked, but 1.) I can't do that, and 2.) I'm not sure it's a healthy exercise anyway.
My Grandmother could stand with her feet together, knees locked and put both of her palms flat on the floor when she was 90. She was over weight to boot. I doubt I will ever be able to do that.
I can do this with barely a stretch, I think it has to do with arm/leg length, some people can do it easily and some can't no matter how much they stretch.
Nah, I have short arms and I could do it as a teen. I am working on it and can almost get there. I'll be able to do it in a month or so. Right now I feel the pull in my hamstrings.4 -
I've always been able to touch the floor, even when I was 280 pounds. I can put my palm flat on the ground now at 179. I think it has to with the ratio of arm to leg length not just length.4

I decided to splurge for my birthday last night. I went out, had pizza, a salad, and a margarita. I only went 40 calories over my calories, and that was my daily vitamins (50 calories of gummy vitamins). This is a victory because 1) I fit a "big splurge" in my calories no problem, and 2) I feel like I've learned to pace my food better, that I could stop at 1.5 slices easily (ate the other half of my child's) and not feel deprived, like I'm finally getting to a place where my brain recognizes an appropriate amount of food.26

I used to fly carrying my own seat belt extender and praying the person next to me would be kind. This is my seat belt slack on a flight I just took38

Went to the dr yesterday & they used the small blue cuff to check my blood pressure instead of the big red one. I was just waiting for her to have to switch them after trying, as usual, but nope! It fit!22

I honestly know how terrifying that is. (Or was) i hadn't traveled in nearly 20 years and last Thanksgiving i flew to California. I had to use a seatbelt extender ( which is okay) but hoping the next time i fly i won't have to7 -
@RelCanonical Your dress, your cat, and you are ALL super cute!3

I can’t wait until this is me. As it stands, I’m wondering where you got yours, as I want one for my next flight. 😎3 -

In celebration, here is the first actual photo of me I'm posting on this account, a picture of me wearing the dress.
Edit: bonus cat included.
Edit edit: forgot to mention that this dress is so special because it's the only piece of "skinny" clothing that I kept. I couldn't bear to get rid of it, both because it was so pretty but also because it may have been the last remnant of hope that I could lose the weight again.
I always always picture you like your profile pic and am perpetually confused. I know you've said it's not you each time here in the forums, but still! ha
Your actual photo's lovely though, and well done on the NSV.7 -
I was in a contest the other night at a local venue and I had to rush up and down stairs and then go onstage in front of the other contestants & spectators. I realized I wasn't remotely concerned about people watching me. I've always been fairly comfortable with public speaking, for a variety of reasons, but for most of my life I've been really preoccupied with how I might look to others when moving around like that (due to weight). Ten years ago, when I was at my heaviest, I wouldn't ever have entered that contest because of having to rush up and down quite a few stairs in front of 100+ people more than a dozen times over the course of the evening. I'm maintaining a major loss for a few years so far, and it's really cool to stop & see how much I have changed mentally when it comes to my body image. It makes me very happy!29

I'd been feeling very frustrated lately. I lost 29 pounds in my first four months but only 2 pounds in the last six weeks. My wife found a pair of seersucker shorts at Goodwill and I had her buy them for me, even though they were 34 waist and I'm wearing 36s. Tried them on and I could actually button and zip them up. I literally can't remember the last time I could wear a 34 inch waist, but it's been more than 25 years. Makes it easier to keep plugging through this damn plateau.31
