Yesterday, I played on the flying fox at the park with my kids. Last time I used it, I was overweight.
This time, at a healthy weight, I felt like I was flying, and I thoroughly enjoyed the rush.9 -
Both an nsv and a frustration, going shopping yesterday I was really noticing where I have looser skin or how my weight gain/loss has affected my legs, arms, etc. I'm only 25 and lost weight over a couple of years so hopefully with weight training and more time it will be minimized, feels good to see progress, but it's a frustration as well.19

DownsizingSam88 wrote: »When my alarm first went off this morning I checked the radar and it looked like there was going to be some rain in about 15-30 minutes. I'm usually prone to colds and flues so I try to stay out of the rain for prolonged periods. Reset my alarm for quarter past 5 (figured in 45 minutes the rain would have passed since it was only a small amount coming over us). Got up at 5:15 and my partner informed me it was spitting outside. Considered going back to bed and trying again tonight, then I realised I have bootcamp (weather permitting) and firies training so unless I wanted to be out until 10pm, I either had to brave the rain or skip it all together. I chose to brave the rain. It was that very light misty stuff so didn't affect me too much. As of this morning I am now up to 30 minutes of jogging every morning. I was alternating the final run of c25k with week 8 (days 1 and 2 were 28 minutes of jogging) but tomorrow is the final day of my repeat of week 8, which is a 30 minute jog as well. Pretty excited that I'm turning into the kind of person who jogs for half an hour every morning, for me, this is a big deal 😁
Yep, you’re a runner now!
You may end up being pleasantly surprised about your immune system too - I used to get sick several times a year, and since becoming a runner I’ve only gotten one cold in two years. I honestly think getting out there in all kinds of weather is better for me than staying inside and hiding from weather used to be. As my grandma used to say, “You’re not made of sugar, you won’t melt!”11 -
I really wanted to buy (the most massive, carb filled) lunch today but I compromised on making a healthy lunch but bringing a small chocolate bar to perk myself up this morning. I'm pleased I recognised that being lazy this morning would make the rest of the day fall apart! I'm also pleased that it's only one chocolate bar, when I have a family sized pack of them taunting me in the cupboard. Baby steps.15

Was having a stressful day yesterday and getting a little irritated with DH over little things. He told me I needed to go for a run to clear my head. I realized he was right. Running is my calming, peaceful place. Who would have thought 2 years ago and minus 50+ extra pounds, I would turn to running instead of a box of cookies for stress relief?
Saturday is my 1 year anniversary of my first organized 5k run. I am celebrating by running the same event but completing a 10k. Also have a half marathon scheduled this year. Feeling good for 60 years old.

I used to have a huge dent in my right butt cheek, about the size of a sardine can and twice as deep. It could be seen through whatever I wore and I detested that part of my body the most.
This morning I realized that the butt dent is gone! It's merely a little dimple now, and a kinda cute dimple at that. ☺33 -
The closer I get to my goal, I've realized I'm more likely to be like, "this is good enough! what's a few more lbs!" and go over my cal allowance. Yesterday I ate a lot of high-cal junk at work, but went for a couple of short walks, and was actually shocked at the end of the day to find out I made it all work and had a few extra calories to spare! It's nice to be reminded you don't have to give up everything you like to make this work.19

Thursday is deadlift day. Last Thursday I was weak as a kitten - could only pull a couple of singles at 225. I was dreading today - wasn't sure what I could pull, but I was determined to try. Pulled 3 sets of 5 at 225. Happy dance!18

Oh, also I'm wearing a blazer today that hasn't buttoned in years. I don't generally button it (looks better open, IMO), but I COULD.20

It's so great that DH recognizes what's going on with you and even better that you accept the suggestion instead of telling him to stuff it.9 -
Feeling great about my pants feeling a lot more loose🤩... Feeling not so great about the next size down being just too snug. 😩 I hate being I between.11

@shunggie You're right. He did recognize it. He is my biggest support in the change I've made to be healthy. When anyone asks how I lost weight, he immediately says "She's a runner". Makes me so proud of him. He has multiple types of cancer and has gone through so much (surgeries, radiation, chemo). He is at every race I run, taking pictures and congratulating me and every other runner.17

I bought a new pair of Leather Pants last year for a Motorcycle run I am taking in a couple months. I drug them out a couple weeks ago to break them in. They're too large now. I can wear them over my denim pants.22

Left butt cheek here, but girl same!!8 -
This morning I only hit the snooze button once, then got up pre-dawn, pre-work and walked the dog 3.51 miles. First time since snow started last Dec. and clocks changed in March. I am not a morning person. Felt good, and happy dog!13

You know how I'm not using the motorized shopping carts anymore, just stabilizing myself with the push cart instead? I went grocery shopping with my husband last night, and on a couple of occasions I walked away from the cart to go get something. And didn't even use my cane.
I'm still going to need that cane outdoors, when I'm not walking on a level surface. I can't call myself able-bodied. But this is progress.55 -

Went to the eye doctor and told him about my family history of type 2 diabetes. He said, “Well, at least you’re skinny. That helps a lot.” I told him that was the main reason I had lost 30 pounds, to prevent diabetes!
I just can’t believe a doctor said I was skinny in such a matter-of-fact way.17 -
I guess the fact that I can now walk without excruciating pain is a good NSV.37

I was out walking in my village today and two of my neighbours commented on my weight loss and both at separate times so I knew they weren’t just agreeing with the other haha. One lady told me I look fantastic. What a lovely feeling and one reason I love living in my wee community.20

Several friends and coworkers have commented on my loss. It's only taken 45 pounds. One friend hugged me and was startled, he was surprised by how less squishy I was.14

Haha yes when the completely oblivious guy in our friend group commented on how tiny I was made me realize that if he had finally noticed then yes, I had come a far way.

That. Is. Impressive. Hows your grip? Do you use bands or gloves? Once I hit 215 I stalled because of my grip.....2 -
I just had yet another person in my village comment on my weight loss. 3 in one day! Awesome!17

I use a hex bar. No issues with grip so far. I have pulled 265 with chalk in the past. Working my way back to that and beyond.

Completed a 10k on my 1 year of running anniversary. Not a PR but I did come in first in my age group. (I may have been the only one). Still walked away feeling pretty proud of my accomplishment. DH was there snapping pictures and cheering for everyone. Love having him with me at every event.29

I got to take off one of my bra extenders, I was at 3 of them, now I’m at 2!28
