Quick check in from me. Facing a v stressful day and am already leaning towards massive over-eating as a coping mechanism. Am hoping that posting here will be a little shot of accountability. My goal is to post again at the end of the day having got through the stress without a binge.
Hope everyone had a good weekend and are feeling calm and ready for the week ahead.
@teranga79 On days like yours, my mantra is: “Eating won’t fix it; You’ll just have 2 problems - the original & having to lose what you gained.” It always works, leading me to things that DO work: Making day less busy through rescheduling, taking a saunter around the block, vase of flowers at my workplace, as the other poster said WATER, decaf tea, decaf coffee, baby carrots, yummy radishes, apples...
Looking forward to hearing how it went!

Thanks for this thread!!
I got to my gw of 128-133 3 years ago. A year later I’d crept up 5 pounds, but lacked motivation to get it off, but clothes were ok etc.
A year ago, my dad got really sick and then died, my mom sold the family house, my sister delivered twins, one with major health issues. Somewhere in that busyness and stress, I packed on about 15 more pounds. Not only and I at (past) my scream weight, but my fat jeans are snug.
I buckled down the past few weeks. Portions are back in a reasonable range. Extra desserts are gone. And, my evening triple IPA (clocking in at 256 kcal) is gone and saved for special occasions only. The first 3 pounds are off, heading in the right direction. Dang, it’s tough. And I’m kicking myself for not paying attention.16 -
@HitTheRoad it really does sneak up on you! Life just gets busy (and often gets pretty rubbish), and before you know it you're rummaging in the back of the wardrobe for your biggest clothes. We've all been there! Sorry to hear about your dad and your other family issues, I hope life is on a more even keen right now. Hang in there
I actually made it through yesterday without binging! Now to tackle today.....7 -
Maybe we need to think of it as being kind to our selves when we know ahead that a day will be crazy. Be sure to have time for a walk built in even if it’s not at our normal time. Have a good meal planned that is healthy and satisfying even if we have to pick it up. The crazy days are the most difficult for me, too.7
