Round 7! My goals will be to walk at least 10,000 steps a day, drink at least 60 oz of water a day, and exercise when I have it scheduled on my calendar. I'm also going to start each round by updating my measurements. I've been wanting to do that for some time, but never seem to get around to it.
This is a busy time of year for me! We have our spring concert on the 23rd, the Memorial Day Parade on the 27th, a trip to Six Flags with the seniors on the 29th, and graduation on June 1st. I'll be happy with meeting my goals for this round. I will continue to weigh everyday, but it won't be my main focus.

05/23 178.8 lb 19,482 steps, 50 oz of water, and I finally updated my measurements. I kept to two slices of pizza, mostly because the high schoolers ate the rest. Our spring concert is tonight! I might exercise this afternoon, but only if I get everything set-up for tonight by the end of the school day. I'll definitely be keeping my tradition of going out for beers afterwards. I think I'll be taking a half day tomorrow so I can get a jump start on cleaning my house and continuing to clean my yard for this weekend.
05/24 178.0 lb 27,251 steps, 54 oz of water, and several beers. The concert was great! The students always come together and create something magical. I did not get to exercise yesterday, but after conducting the concert, my Fitbit congratulated me on my "31 minute run". I'm planning on going to the gym and walking two miles with the dog this afternoon.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

05/26 weight 151lbs: goal to do 30 mins on treadmill and drink 1500ml water - tick. This challenge really works as a motivator. I've not done one before, not done any social media before, but I can get into this. There is no way I would have done 30min treadmill today if I hadn't got into the challenge. Finding it hard to get 1500ml water in but I have done it for last three days just because I put it on my challenge goals. I usually just drink tea but not having so much tea and coffee means I don't have to waste cals on milk. I am sticking to 1200 cals so this is going to be a slow slog

5/23 No Scale - I will update the numbers for the last round and beginning round tomorrow when I get on the scale after being in New Orleans for 4 days. I have hope, I haven't gone crazy and I have exercised every day. I've been drinking a ton of water to help with sodium. I went to a beach in Mississippi yesterday and walked four miles. I never get to walk on the beach. Had cheap fresh grilled tuna tacos for dinner. Delicious!!!! I love that my job allows me to travel to places I wouldn't have otherwise, though it makes staying on task difficult.
5/24 172.4 I'm not thrilled, but not mad either. I am down for the round, though up two pounds from when I left. I KNOW I didn't eat enough to gain two pounds. Hopefully, I'll see a drop tomorrow or the next day. My sick friend is out of intensive care and off the ventilator. It was touch and go for two weeks, but he's definitely on the mend. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. It's Friday before a 3 day weekend - WOOHOO!!!!!!!!
5/25 172.0 Still going the right direction. Got three miles in yesterday, trying to get another three in today between showers. Missouri is flooded everywhere. Trails are hard to find that aren’t under water at least in spots. Some of my flowers look beautiful, some are so beat up I’m not sure they’ll recover.

5/23 - 142.0. Shocked at the drop considering I ate at a restaurant for lunch and had a little bigger dinner than usual because friends were over. Wins: short weight lifting session and 2.5 mile walk. Made a good choice at a restaurant, I know those meals are full of sodium but calorie-wise it was low with lots of veggies. Need to work on water intake, still feel dehydrated this morning.
5/24 -142.0. Glad to see this number stick around another day! Wins yesterday: 5 miles walked and a gentle yoga class. Hydrated well after waking up feeling dehydrated. Went a little over calorie target but not by much. 3 day weekend ahead with lots of fun plans, I'm hoping I have the self-control to stay close to my calorie target each day and at least maintain this weight.
5/25 - 141.8. Liking this trend! TOM coming soon so enjoying it while it lasts 😊. Wins yesterday: weight lifting session, hydrated well, successfully avoided cake and pizza at a neighborhood party. I did have some fun snacks though so I was able to indulge a bit without going overboard - used up my calories on stuff I enjoy more.
5/26 - 142.9. Uugghhh!!!! I get so frustrated at this. We went to a cookout yesterday and I had a burger and some chips but stayed within a deficit, no alcohol and no dessert. I also did a really tough HIIT class and a 2.75 mile walk. I’m really hoping this is a combo of sodium/red meat and TOM coming this week and it will drop off later this week. I feel bloated today.

05/23:..162.4# Same as yesterday but down 1.4# from last week. Did gardening, weed pulling mostly outside for over an hour. Ate steak and potato with dinner so lucky not up. Got an hour weed pulling in this am already. Found small purple Irises that volunteered. Such a great reward.
05/24: 161.8 Down… yeah! Ate very light but healthy.
05/25: 161.8 Same as yesterday. Did at least 3 hours of gardening but ate spaghetti and meatballs in evening. I do better with carbs earlier in the day. My flower beds are looking better. Such a joy to see for me. Planted marigolds around mailbox for the mail man. LOL Going to lunch today. I’ll have salad and protein. Have a fun day everyone.
05/26: 161.4 Down a pound so far this round. Yeah! Gardened for.5 hour yesterday and ate 2 big salad with protein and small ice cream and wine. Turned down a fab dessert at lunch yesterday (pat on back). I had hoped to lose a pound this round so now I’ll aim for another half-pound for this round.

Had to laugh at 'every ridiculous bite'. I've known the feeling. Could be you're in a more humid climate as well and retaining some but Wow!. you've lost 20 lbs. Congrats!7 -

05/26--206.1 I can't believe that I am down over 3 lbs after my trip to visit my parents. While I didn't eat a huge amount I did go out for dinner twice, I didn't do much exercise, was resting my hip, I didn't drink much water, and I was expecting some water retention from the flight. Well, my hip feels better, but not 100%. I'm supposed to see my trainer today, so I'll see how that goes. My hubby cleaned our house and even cleaned my car while I was gone...I should go out of town more often. Goal for today is to go food shopping, get back to my normal eating, and just relax.
