Hello, I’m 52yo, 5ft 9” (and hypothyroid 😬)...I lost over 70lbs in 2011/2012 dropping from 233 to 162lbs (UGW) over 8-10months 😇 ...I managed to keep most of the weight off for 5years but loaded virtually all of it back on over the last 2 😱 Here to do it all again and holding myself accountable by joining some challenges

10th - 140: I started Keto WOE and logging everything on the 5th. However, there was a noticeable lack of energy during my workouts so I decided to add in some healthy carbs before and/or during exercising. So guess I'm low carb eating for now. Will continue to monitor how I feel and tweak the menu as needed.
15th - 139.2: I was a little lower yesterday but such is the way of things, right? It's all good, still making good choices.
20th - 136.8: Woot! Really enjoying my current highly motivated frame of mind. I go through this and then fall off the wagon, definitely a pattern. Crossing fingers this is the time I don't do that.

May was not a great month for me. I had way to much going on (vacation, graduation, end of the year programs/projects, and parties) every time I turned around. School is out for the summer though and I am ready to get back on track. Being a mother of 5 (2 which are adults supposedly) can take a toll on you sometimes. Thank goodness I have an amazing family and husband that help me.

Today's Thoughts: Am I the only one who regularly hits "DONE" in the MFP app after writing a post instead of scrolling down and tapping "POST REPLY" ??? You'd think I'd learn.
I'm doing ok. The exercise is down, but I'm not slugging. I spent a day and a half in the city with friends doing a good bit of walking (while the FitBit was on the charger). And, I'm knocking out a bunch of things around the house that keep me moving. Early morning weight is picking up a late snack. I usually don't eat after 8pm, but woke up at midnight hungry and fixed something light - I'm surprised it's not actually up a tick higher.I'll take it. Will likely not hit the June goal, but I'm ok with the slow and steady loss.

- Log daily in MFP - focus on daily calorie deficit goal of 500 This is very reasonable for me
- No calorie intake after 8pm

Work conference/mini vacation in San Diego last week. Ate amazing fresh seafood everyday. Scale was up 3lbs when I returned, so I’m okay with 1lb up. It was TOTALLY worth it.
More likely than fat gained from my trip, I think it’s normal fluctuation. Seems I’m usually up week 2, TOM comes week 3 and I lose mostly at end of week 4. I’ll have to watch the trend and see if that’s what happens again this month.

TMI Question: When did your breasts get smaller?
Background: I've been exercising at the gym for almost 7 months. Slow results and I'm very happy. I had to buy a new bra (a sister size with a smaller band). Usual gym routine includes 15 minute warm-up, 20 min body-weight strength exercises, and 20 mins cardio on the elliptical. Since joining the gym, I have lost 9 lbs.
Now, putting aside my question, I had a large dinner last night. I did not need two servings of chicken alfredo and toast lol. It was delicious and I'm glad that I dropped .2 lbs this week.
The next week will be tough since I will be at home for a stay-cation.

This weeks update: as you all know, I’ve been struggling with the idea of maintenance my biggest fear being weight gain as a result of upping my allowed calorie intake. Here it is. My biggest fear come to life. I’ve gained 5.9 lbs this week!! This is not acceptable to me. This is something I cannot deal with psychologically or emotionally. On top of upping my calories I stopped doing my IF so I could spread all those calories throughout the day so I have a feeling this also had something to do with this massive spike. Another change was my workouts, I started C25K again and finished week 1. I also added in more strength training and so much more cardio. Starting tomorrow I will be making some adjustments. I’m putting myself back down to 1200 allowed daily calories but since I am working out so much more now I will also allow myself to eat back my workout calories. So if I want to eat a bit more I have to earn it. This should bring me up to around 1300 - 1500 calorie intake a day. Also going back to my IF schedule next week. I hope this works.6 -

June 15 - 162.3 - Halfway through the month. Had hoped for more of a loss, but will keep trying.
June 16 - 161.8 - Really fluctuating this month.
June 17 - 163.2 - Argh. Had way more water yesterday than usual.
June 18 - 162.9
June 19 - 160.3 - I had a hard time getting enough water in the last few days. If it is not just water loss then woo-hoo!
June 20 - 161.0 - 161 is my 30 pound loss mark

Yes, stay on top of it. You have come too far and worked so hard. It is most definitely a lifestyle change and some experimenting.
You are working out and tracking and posting, these are positive life choices.
Some people stay at 1200 calories forever (Princess Kate, 5'11"). Of course that doesn't mean that we all need to, because we are all different.
Definitely you want to nip it in the bud quickly.
