I’ve been so obsessive about losing body fat. Since I am skinny fat (24 male 6’ 1” ~151 lbs with about 15% body mass). I’ve been doing Keto for 5-6 days with a 5% net carb, 20% protein, 75% fat. I was wondering if the Keto diet has helped with skinny fat or people in general and if I should continue. Also this is a 1500 daily calorie goal.

Keto is a way of eating that some people find effective as it makes it easier for them to maintain the calorie deficit required to reduce body fat.
Skinny fat, fat fat, old fat, new fat. It's all just fat and it's all reduced by being in a calorie deficit regardless of how that is achieved.11 -
Skinny fat is usually a way of saying that muscle mass is lower than usual. Lack of carbs doesn't contribute much to solving that, what contributes the most is having a progressive resistance training routine, eating enough protein, and not eating a low calories diet. 1500 calories is the absolute minimum for an inactive male, so you're already contributing to the problem regardless of what diet you're following, more so if you're active.15

I used to overeat a lot and I worry that I’ll be fat and unattractive. What would you suggest eating wise?2 -
Keto works wonders! Has for my friends and I. Keep it under 20 and WEIGH EVERYTHING. Track it all. There’s so many hidden sugars (carbs) out there that if you don’t weigh you’ll be way off.19

Any diet you find sustainable will do as long as it has enough calories and protein, and most importantly, you're challenging your muscles. Your BMI is low, so you may either want to gain some weight (set your calories to surplus, this may result in gaining a little bit of fat, which you can lose later) or recomp (set your calories to maintenance and have a progressive strength training routine). Gaining weight will make building muscle mass easier, then you can worry about the fat later. You likely won't gain fat doing recomp but it will take a lot longer to achieve results. Here is a good guideline for protein:

Meal prepping on Keto is just so much work! 🤦🏽♀️ I know it works I just can’t seem to stay on it long enough because it’s so time consuming. Plus coffee creamer is my weakness! 😩😩3

Considering your sedentary TDEE (total daily calorie burn) is likely around 2200 and you are already bottom range of healthy weight - no 1500 is not a smart idea.
That was the result of your selection for weight loss rate and activity level.
If you were comatose in a hospital they'd probably be feeding you over 1700.
You have a desk job and sit down commute for 10 hrs daily, then come home and sit in front of a screen all night and weekend?
That's sedentary to MFP's usage. That's what base eating goal would be on.
If exercise is done - you eat more.
No style of diet that assists you to eat the right amount of calories is going to magically reduce fat and add muscle.
You lose more fat what exactly do you expect to be seen, likely more fat.
That's the hard workout aspect mentioned above. Resistance workouts to be specific. Lifting weights.

My first week of keto I was going nuts over meal prepping and COFFEE CREAMER!!!
I even tried sugar free French vanilla creamer which made be bloat up.
So, I came up with a creamer I've actually come to enjoy:
1/4 cup (or more) of half and
half
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
powder (I prefer Trader Joe's)
1 1/2 tbsp of Stevia in raw (or
monk fruit).
Put all in a small sauce pan, heat on low while coffee is brewing, stirring occasionally with a fork or whisk, until cocoa powder is mostly blended (only takes a couple of minutes).
I have a whole lot of quick easy meals now too. Most things I fix are 5-10 minutes of prep or cooking.

My live-in boyfriend wanted to go on the keto diet, because I was starting it. I asked him to give me a week head start, because he doesn't have much to lose, he's male, and much younger than myself (in his mid-twenties).
He started a couple of days after me, it has affected him in the strangest way.... Before starting to eat keto, he had what I call chicken limbs (very skinny arms and legs with very little muscle mass).
After four weeks, he has biceps showing up and his legs look more meaty or is it beefy (not sure which word is the right one).
He doesn't work out, aside from mowing the yard. He did tell me one day he did some wall push-ups, but that's it!
We've come to just say the keto diet is crazy with insane unbelievable results!! And we love it!24 -

And that still won't matter. There are no quick fixes for any of this unless you see a surgeon and even he/she can't build muscle for you.6 -
OP, you're focusing on the wrong things. You are already quite lean. You don't have enough muscle. You need to feed your body enough food to build muscle and focus on a progressive strength training program to cause that muscle building.
Eat at a small surplus, in whatever way you want, and pick out a strength program in the "which program is right for me" thread linked earlier in the thread.7 -
So why do you want to lose weight? Skeletons aren’t attractive!4

Also, I believe Fat on the body serves a purpose. I’m not sure what, but I would bet some of the more knowledgeable people here on mfp could explain it to us.1

When I did keto I didn't magically grow a bunch of muscle, but it gave me the power to levitate and to raise the dead. If you stick with it for a couple weeks you'll be able to control the weather. Carbs are turning our super powers off.17 -
Eat at maintenance, get enough protein and follow a structured lifting program. I would advise against losing more weight with your stats. (I am 5'6" and weigh more than you do, and am not that big)4

Keto has actually been shown to have sub-par results when it comes to building muscle and/or endurance training, so I dobt what you are saying is true. he may have lost a bit of fat that covered his muscle and now looks bigger. when I lost 10 lbs and got ripped, people I put on weight as I looked more muscular, but I assure you I lost a bit of size in my arms and a little more in the chest

To be honest, these posts set off some red flags that you may be dealing with some body image disorders. Aggressive dieting (which is what 1500 is for someone with your body stats) is not the solution to it. 15% body fat isn't "skinny fat". It's skinny. If you are unhappy with your look, it almost seems like you are better off trying to build muscle and bulk, rather than cut further, as you are at the low end of healthy BMI already for your weight. But the things that you are battling with make me think that speaking with a counselor would probably be the best step at the moment.
There is nothing special about Keto for body fat loss. If you are in a deficit in Keto, you will lose, if you are not, you will not. Same as any other diet.
ETA: If you are trying to build/protect muscle, 75 grams of protein for someone your size isn't gonna cut it.9 -

What’s go good about coconut oil? It has high saturated fat. Is there something that I’m missing here?1 -

MFP is an evidence based community. When I say that I mean the regulars here. A lot of people join, and come into the forums when they're starting out on their fitness journey, and ask questions about things they've heard, or coincidences they've noticed. Like the lady who's boyfriend became a ripped body builder with no exercise by not eating carbs. There have been some amazing and unsubstantiated claims about coconut oil too. Coming back to this being an evidence based community, it was an in joke, I dialed the hyperbole up to 11 about keto but forgot about other woo. Apple cider vinegar is another one, if you drink a shot glass full it erases thousands of calories.
Sorry if that answer want funny enough. 😕3 -

Forget about diet and exercise for now. You need to seek help. Your mental health is very important.5
