Ok so here we go!! My weight as of this morning was 158.6lbs!! Woohoo! I surpassed my mini goal of 160lbs!! I forgot to measure myself, so I'll post that tomorrow morning!! Hope everyone is having an awesome day!!0

My compliment story:
So Tuesday night my 3 year old daughter fell down the stairs at our house and broke her arm. So of course I run her to the ER. Anyways the staff at the ER was great I kept telling all of the staff thanks for all you do. They had true empathy for us and my little one.. I thanked the orthopedic dr for helping my little girl and he got the biggest smile on his face. I know he is doing his job but what a difference the amazing medical staff do for us... I couldn't be more grateful for how they helped my little one... It was a tramstic night for all Of us an they were all great!!0 -
I feel like just giving up completely. My weight is back up to my starting weight of the challenge and there wasn't any change in my measurements. I was doing good for the first couple weeks but I kind of gave up and now look at me. Back in the same spot.

Dont give up!!! I feel completely discouraged too, but trust me you'll get there....its just day by day I just keep telling myself I have already lost over 30 so I can do it..and I dont know what your totals are but I was there..I had 55 pounds to lose so You can do it to!!
I agree - I am in the same spot. I started out great, lost 5 lbs, and am now back where I was. It's challenging and it's easy to get discouraged. Try to focus on other things that you have accomplished instead of just looking at the numbers on the scale. For example - I know I notice myself reading labels more and actually looking at calories to see if something is worth eating; I have been more consistent with tracking; and I have probably exercised more in the last few weeks than I ever have in my life! You will get there - we all will. We have an amazing group supporting us!

I have a coworker who is always hating on herself. I've known her for 9 years and this is the way she's always been. We were talking about nothing really and all of a sudden I told her that her face was glowing. She has acne scars which she had laser on about 3 years ago. She was blushing so that she had to walk away because she doesn't accept compliments very well!!! She's really a very pretty lady and I told her so!!!0 -

i can't do the exercise challenge :sad: i can't do anything like squats or lunges cuz my left knee is all messed up, but i DID to 20 minutes of zumba today, and that was lots of fun! :bigsmile:

Well....I don't know if I complemented...but I tried to encourage. Was entering a rest stop building to use the bathroom when I noticed an older couple...she was very frail and he was helping her in...using a gait belt to help. I heard him say..."I'm sorry honey...you are going to have to come into the men's room...I think that is better than me going into the women's". She looked mortified...so I went over and told them I was a nurse and could help her in and out of the ladies. She was relieved....explained that they had been on trip and fallen and had to have hip pinned. Now they were on a 5 hour trip home and she really needed the rest room. She was really discouraged about being weak. I told her she was doing great and to hang in there...that rehab would be hard...but would get her back to being independent. She was a perfect stranger...but today I'm wondering about her and hoping that she is staying encouraged.0

Day 4 of the "shred" done. 26 more days to go and I did 20 more Plie with a kick. 20 more left.
My compliment for the week: The other day I was at work (I work in a dental office) and one of your reps came in and I don't really know her all that well and she was wearing this amazing flowing summer type dress and I let her know how beautiful it was on her. She lit up when I said that. I don't know if this qualifies as well but it made me feel good. Today there was a lady who came into the office to pay a very overdue bill and we started talking because I know she was having troubles financially because she has guardianship over her 2 grandsons and it's just her by herself, we started talking and I gave her all the numbers I knew of to get some extra help from government agencies. I also told her that if she ever needed to talk ore more resources, to give me a call. I think she left feeling a little less stressed about her situation.
I know that's not a compliment, but it made me feel good and I wanted to share.
As for all you gals who are struggling or want to quit, DON'T DO IT!!! It can get tough and there are weeks we gain and fall down, but we are all strong independent woman who can dust ourselves off and move forward. My husband always tells me when I am about to quit that "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting to get different results."
We can do this. If I can get off the couch today and do the 30 day shred than get on the treadmill, anybody can.

Well, it looks like I'll have to give my measurements and weight tomorrow. Not to mention catch up on some reading! I did howeve fulfill the personal challenge. It was fun! I like complimenting people. It makes me feel good.

I just read the 2 stories on this page... helping the old lady to the washroom and lending a good ear and resouces to someone who needed it. What amazing stories! Thank you for the acknowledgements on my success but I really dont deserve it. Although I have not lied about my numbers, it was not just my work that dropped so much.
My thyroids are VERY VERY BAD! They cant seem to control them, Im either too high or too low and simply cant be regulated.
Im also not eatting like I should (only about 500 calories a day) mostly celery soup and yogurt and then I exercise about that much every day. I have been under an emense amount of stress with a nasty divorce from a man who is mean, spiteful and vendictive and recently threatened to press criminal charges against me for signing a check when we were married. And to add to the mess I was just informed that my bone density is shot (thanks to my thyroid and a complete hysterectomy in 05) what that means is my 36 old body has bones of a 65-70 year old woman I have already broken a bone. I have only told my 3 closest friends this news and im not sure why im letting it all go here but this is me....
SO PLEASE give the credit to someone who truly deserves it for their hard work and not someone who isnt doing what they should do to lose the weight.....
sorry to hear about all the stuff you have going on. still, even though the weight loss hasn't been the healthiest, you can still focus on making it last and changing a few things to be healthier as you lose. take care of yourself!0 -

don't give up on yourself!! that's what got most of us to the point of needing to find a site like this...we kinda gave up on ourselves and you don't want to do that. we've ALL fallen off the wagon before....it happens...pick yourself back up and hop back on!! This was a great week for me! I lost last week's vacation weight gain, plus some! (Although I must admit that at least a pound of that was hair - had a major haircut yesterday. But it all counts, right?)

Those plies have been awesome! I really feel them for a while afterwards - I may keep those up after the challenge is over.

Ok, I just completed my plie with a kick... It was so funny! I couldn't stop laughing at myself. The lady on the video made it look so easy! And then there is me... Kind of reminded me of when my best friend and I used to go do aerobics in High School, we were always 2 steps behind. Anyhow, I did them, they were not perfect, but I tried hard to focus in between my giggles to get them done.
Now, for my measurements and weigh-in. I will have to look at the chart to know where I was at when I started. But here's where I'm at now. I hope it will be good. (I'm taking the measurements as I type.)

I've had a busy week so I JUST got on and saw the week's challenge...will get my butt in gear and get the plies in today and tomorrow (already did 10 after watching the video!). I've got to get busy so I can meet this challenge by 12/25!! I found out this week that I'll be getting an extra $500 per semester scholarship, and since my schooling is all paid for, I'll get that refunded to me! That means I can definitely afford to go back to the gym, so I'll be re-joining in the next week or so. I was planning on going back, but was going to have to just add it to my mtn of debt and I was really hoping to not have to do that! lol0 -
Ok, my measurements were not so good. I seem to have gone up in most of them. But, oh well, they will be better next time! I did go down on the scale, so that matters to me!0

My compliment story: I complimented my cousin who has been inspired to start a fitness journey. I told her good job and even offered her a dvd to get started. I also complimented a stranger on her hair and it made her smile.
It feels good to compliment others and I love receiving them. There's nothing like having someone notice that you are making a difference in your life especially when you are losing weight. I don't get that alot in real life mostly because I am home with my children and the hubby pretends not to notice that I have lost almost seventy pounds since having my sixth child:-(. That's okay because I feel awesome and nothing can bring me down or stop me from reaching my goal.
It does feel good to compliment! And according to "The Secret", you must give out what you want to receive and it will come back to you. Therefore, if I compliment someone, someone will eventually compliment me! Although, I have to be honest, during the few weeks that I had gained back weight, I had a few people who kept telling me, "You've lost weight, haven't you?" All I could say is, "well, its going back up the wrong way" I was so busy being down on myself, that I wasn't accepting the compliment. I'm thinking that by my doing that, I have made that person not want to compliment me anymore, I may have done the same thing with my fiance... so maybe I need to change the way I take compliments. Things for me to work on... How to accept a compliment!0 -

I have had a great week this week and am even making progress getting my son to eat vegetables! (No small feat with him!) I have been challenging my body to slowly do more and more exercise since the dr.'s released me to do whatever I can tolerate. I will be starting physical therapy soon and plan to use the physical therapist as my own personal trainer since they will be working on my back and legs anyway (I have 0 core strength thanks to a recent pregnancy and several bulging and torn discs). I also found out that I do not (currently) have MS and it looks like they are just tumors on my spinal cord. Still have to see a neurologist to make sure they don't have to do anything about them right now, but things are looking much better than a week ago.
I complimented a woman yesterday while I was at my son's Kindergarten Readiness program about her hair and her sons behavior (he had behavior problems). She was beaming the rest of the time! I am pretty free with compliments and it feels great to see how much better they can make others feel!

Don't give up! Just think of this as a reminder to keep working hard! It's all worth it in the end. I thought I could just coax along and the changes would just happen, but realized that I had to keep working hard at it every day!
