    The compliment I gave: I was on the phone with Sprint for over an hour bc someone (my ex) hacked my account. The operator did everything possible to ensure it never happens again so after repeatedly thanking her I also spoke with her supervisor and let her know what an asset her worker was!

    Well....I don't know if I complemented...but I tried to encourage. Was entering a rest stop building to use the bathroom when I noticed an older couple...she was very frail and he was helping her in...using a gait belt to help. I heard him say..."I'm sorry honey...you are going to have to come into the men's room...I think that is better than me going into the women's". She looked mortified...so I went over and told them I was a nurse and could help her in and out of the ladies. She was relieved....explained that they had been on trip and fallen and had to have hip pinned. Now they were on a 5 hour trip home and she really needed the rest room. She was really discouraged about being weak. I told her she was doing great and to hang in there...that rehab would be hard...but would get her back to being independent. She was a perfect stranger...but today I'm wondering about her and hoping that she is staying encouraged.

    I think My bust and arm measurements Are the only ones from last month that were right but anywho here are my measurements as of august 26

    I did not do any of the plié challenges, and let me just vent that I frustrated. I posted on the second page of this thread that I could see the video, and no one even bothered to try and help me :( what's the point of being in a support group if no one help anyon else ? Sorry if I'm sounding mean, I'm just very frustrated I couldn't find a viedo anywhere and the link posted on here would not play for me

    As far as the personal challenge I recently saw an old coworker who I haven't seen in nearly six months. She's lost a total of 80 lbs and counting so far and is looking fabulous. I compliment her on her achevment and appearance

    Hope everyone else had better luck on the challenge than I did

    You guys are AWESOME with your compliment stores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a compliment fail :sad: I went out for Sushi last night and also enjoyed some wine :drinker: We went to the store and the checker had the most beautiful white hair..... I wanted to say something but I didn't :grumble: What a dork! I guess I will have to go find someone else.

    Yikes ~ Sorry no one got back to you. I have never been able to make them work....but that's because I am alittle computer challenged sometimes . I just cut and paste the link and it worked. My husband helped me. If you get it to work we can cathc up together. I haven't done any yet and plan to work on that after the gym.

    I just did 30 Plies!!!:noway: Ok I took a break after the first 5 since I looked like a monkey with a wierd twitch!!! Then I did 10 more...then watered some plants then 15....:huh: I am sweating like a pig..... I might throw in a few more to really catch up.

    Hi everyone. Hope things are going well. I am most likely going to be MIA today and tomorrow (and yesterday) because of the hurricane.     my rant for the day!gained back 2 pounds-could be several reasons ,swelling from the meds-just not moving for a few days due to a migraine-whatever the reason -I will have it gone by monday.-lol..this is the same place I get stuck every time!any suggestions to break this cycle? sadly it took a year for me to see where I mess up the most.
    The plies and most excercises I can not do due to very painful back and neck problems(doctors orders) BUT :happy: I can walk some-general cleaning and finding the money to get to the Y to swim.
    all other challenges done.

    Me again :ohwell: I just logged in my YUMMY lunch and I thought I would share it with you :flowerforyou: I was ADD cleaning..started in the bathroom, moved to kitchen to work on dinner, then out to the trash then back to the kitchen, hungry time for lunch :laugh:

    I made a Turkey melt that was just around 300 calories!!!!!! Rye bread 1/2 tsp butter for the grilling a pinch of garlic salt, I spread a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese on each side of the the inside part of sandwich then added 5 slices of turkey and grilled. It was crispy yummy and I feel like I just cheated :devil:

    I also did 10 more Plies...total 40 I will finish tomorrow. They are a ball buster for sure :grumble: But my arms and butt will be happy for it :happy:

    I think I am going to go work on my tan now....sorry east coasters :embarassed: Oh I better finish cleaning the bathroom first :laugh:

    Thanks Jenn! For inspiring us and for the kick in the butt. I have been putting off working out lately, and have been relying on my walks to work and taking the dog out, which just doesn't cut it.

    Here is my attempt at the personal challenge this week:
    First of all at Wal-mart this morning I noticed the cashier seemed a little down as she was cashing out the customer ahead of me so I prayed for her and made an attempt to be a gracious customer. She was very efficient with me and I took time to say, "Thank you very much" and mean it before I left. She was smiling when I left, but it didn't seem like I had done enough. Later as my DH and I were leaving LJS I noticed a man trying to manuever a walker through the door behind me so I held the door open as he when through the tight foyer and again so he could get outside. He seemed relieved to be able to deal with the walker instead of both the door and the walker.

    These were not major feats on my part, but this week's challenge has made me more aware of the people around me this week, and I have waved at traffic control workers and tried to say thank you more often this week. I'm thinking it should be more of a habit in my busy little world. Thanks Jenn for the reminder!!

    As for the plie kicks, I have 45 down having done 15 a day so far. Has anyone else had the burn in the muscles above the knee and the stomach and the arms. I am being reminded this week that there are muscles in those places. Muscles that have been on vacation too long. I will be back in the morning with my measurements and weigh in.:heart:

    I need some suggestions for arm exercises! Does anyone have a DVD they recommend for upper body? My current strength training DVD is Bob Harper's Kettlebell workout (using a 10-lb kettlebell), and I've used Jackie Warner's Xtreme Personal Training, but neither one has had an effect on my arms.

    I couldn't' remember if I gave you my first measurements in cm or inches so did both.
    I really hope that hurricane settles down so you can get back to normal.

    Last week: 78.6 kg (173.3)
    This week: 78.7 kg (173.5)

    I guess I'll call that no change? Disappointing, but it happens to the best of us. All I can do is keep it up :)

    Did another 15 of the plie kicks yesterday after the 30DS, so I'm up to 30... still a lot to go... grrrr.

    I have a lot of problems with videos playing (since I don't live in the US). When that happens I just google or check youtube.com for whichever exercise we're supposed to be doing. Sometimes it's a different video, but you'll still get the idea.

    I saw your post (on page 1), but honestly thought you were just giving Jenn a heads up, and would google it. Sorry I didn't respond, I didn't realize you were actually asking for help.

    So close to the 170's!! Hope next weeks challenge will be tough enough to get me there. I still have 30 of the plie kicks to do but will get them done over today and tomorrow.

    Complimented a coworker the other day because she was wearing a skirt and heels when normally it's more casual. We were passing and it surprised me that she had dressed up so I made a point to say That she looked really nice. Put a smile on her face and on mine.

    I've been trying to compliment people more often for some weird reason... another time just the other day, I had a member come into my fitness centre and he has decided to sport a beard. He's an older gentleman and when I first saw him I thought he looked like Keifer Sutherland (from the show '24'). I wasn't going to say anything initially but then said screw it... got chatting on his way out and told him that he could pass as Sutherlands stunt double. Well he left the fitness centre absolutely beaming!! Said he couldn't wait to go home and tell his wife what a young girl said to him. hahaha

    The compliment challenge:

    On MFP, someone posted pictures of cakes she had made from pancake mix. They looked like muffins/cupcakes and 1 chocolate chip version contains 191 calories/24g carbs/9g fat/4g protein - they looked fab and I told her so and asked for the receipe. Worth a look if you have a sweet tooth - in the food and nutrition message boards under title pancake cupcakes by the robinator.

    Compliment: Went to bank and noticed the teller's ring, I said how unusual it was and looked closer at it. Asked if she picked it out. She said no my husband did all by himself. I said wow he did good. He's a keeper. She grinned ear to ear and said yes he is. I don't normally just talk to people. I don't know. I just kinda stand there waitin on them to make my transaction unless of course they talk to me.:smile:

    I did something really crazy yesterday so I new my weight would be up,:bigsmile:
    Made a last minute road trip to Kansas to see my son play in his college teams purple and white team scrimmage, It was great to see him play again and at the next level. And then turned around and came home same day!! left at noon got there about 5:30 game at 6 visited after until after 9 home by 2:30
    Crazy....but a great day but bad day eating wise and no exercise.
    Bought the EA Active 2 for Wii at Target for $10.Gonna give that a try:smile:

    I don't have anything except get into a dumb bell routine... Those Plies kicks sure got my arms tired....push ups are great too. I would get some dumb bells and go on u tube and find some arm exercises like Jenn has been giving us. You will be sporting that tank top in no time :bigsmile: Congrats on saying good bye to the 200's :drinker:

    Dear Hurricane Irene,

    You make me angry. I live in NJ - used to be a nice, safe state... so far this year we've had tornadoes, aftershocks from earthquakes, and a hurricane. NJ residents are not used to these natural phenomena... please be kind to us for a while!
