Hi, I'm back. I've been traveling for work and when I'm not traveling, I'm swamped trying to keep up with plant work. BF leaves for 3 weeks of training in AZ on Monday so I'm dog/house sitting for him and getting life together in that sense. I'm going to AZ next weekend to visit him and see the place (I've never been). Then its two more weeks without him. Wah. We do everything together so it might be a bit boring. But my neighbors will keep me entertained. TOM just ended so hopefully this number keeps going down. Also, with all my traveling my water intake is down and my inflammation is up. Hopefully with a few days of rest, I'll see some improvement.

8/11 - 158.5 - holding steady with very gradual loss. Last day with mom quiltingjaine here. She flies home tomorrow leaving me with a freezer full of keto meals/entrées.
8/12 - 158 - and then the tummy revolted. And then quiltingjaine & I had a carb-full meal before she left to go home. Been eating some emotions today. Tomorrow it’s gym & sun and clean eating.
8/13 - 158 - glucose was up, but the rest of the numbers are good so far. May not get much sun today, but I’ll still hit the gym & watch my mouth!
8/14 - 157.5 - baby steps. Baby steps. Watched my food & got in a good workout yesterday. Rest day so errands today. And preparing for the next major life change - taking the baby to college.
8/15 - 157 - busy day of packing & loading ahead. 3 busy days ahead! I will be getting in my gym time today though.

08/13 185.8 Well I'm just gonna jump right in here. It has been a long summer and i'm glad the kids are getting back to school now. I had to have surgery (2x!) for breast cancer and getting started with radiation next week. But overall I managed to maintain my weight and now I'm ready for the scale to start moving downward again. I would like to get close to 170 by the end of the year which might be a bit ambitious but I need my clothes to fit me again and all of my "big" stuff is feeling tight.
08/14 186.8 I'm not sure where this bump came from except that I actually put too much salt in my zoodles last night. Drinking water for sure. Did 45 minutes of hiit at the gym so that was good! Trying to think about how I can eat successfully tonight at the kid's back to school swim pizza party.. I'm bringing watermelon as my side contribution.
08/15 186.4 still hanging here. Radiology appt today was mainly just for informational purposes and appointment setting so I still don't know what my schedule will be with it. Feeling pretty good overall though. My youngest daughter is on the heavy side (she's 11) and we talked a bit about how sugar can cause inflammation in your body, which ended in a challenge for us both to avoid refined sugar until her birthday in 1 month. I am excited to see the changes in both body and awareness this will bring for us both!
08/16 185.0 much better! maybe my goal for this round is still attainable. Off to the gym this morning to get my steps in, with some light weights. I'm not trying to make any gains for the next couple of months but I AM trying to stay in the habit of physically getting to the gym.

R86 - Day/Weight/Comment
313.4 lbs (-1.3) ... a good way to start out the round! Completed Couch to 5k W1D3 this morning.
313.9 lbs (+0.5) … small fluctuation, I’ll attribute to it a bigger dinner last night (steak!), though I was still under my budget. 6 mile bike ride this morning.
313.2 lbs (-0.7) … good stuff! That matches my previous low. Letting myself rest a bit today cardio-wise.
312.5 lbs (-0.7) … that’s a new low for me, and under my goal for this round… just need to hold onto that loss and not fluctuate up too much in the next six days. Completed Couch to 5k W2D1 this morning. I was very winded by the end of the jogging intervals, but I made it through them! Joined a gym this week and I’m going to check it out and poke at some strength training tonight for the first time.
312.3 lbs (-0.2) … continuing my downward trend. It’s been a good week. Didn’t accomplish much at the gym, it was fairly overwhelming - so many machines/devices in there that I don’t have the faintest idea what to do with - so I just walked on the treadmill for a while and watched others. Signed up for 3 personal training sessions to get me started.
312.9 lbs (+0.6) … small uptick. Honestly, I expected more than this. I forgot about dinner and didn’t eat until almost 10pm, which definitely showed on the scale this morning. I still have some soreness in my left leg and my stomach felt off this morning, so I decided to push my next run off a day.

Ok, back for my 2nd round. Lost .9 in my first round, but fluctuation was 2.8 over the course of the 10 days. Can’t explain it all, but hoping to learn from it for this round. See I am already up 0.3 over last round’s end.
Monday, 8/12/19 - 124.2
Why?! Rode several miles on my bike Saturday and walked most of Sunday. And logged in everything I ate. So, why?! Never went over my allotted 1,200 calories for a day. Have to assume for now trend will be down again this round. Just frustrating. Trying really hard to be “good” in a sustainable way that could last long term.

Back in the right direction. Would love to see something lower tomorrow as a bday present to myself for my conscious (but reasonable/sustainable) efforts.

Sure this isn’t real - wasn’t very hungry yesterday for some reason. Nonetheless, I’ll take it for today and see where things go in the next few days. Always focused on not totally denying, just making better food choices the majority of the time. Know adding in strength training is on the to do list. Honestly not sure going to the gym is a reasonable goal with my long work hours and a family. Looked up “office exercises” and will see if I can incorporate some of these into my day. And Happy Birthday to me!

Hmmmm. This doesn’t make sense again. Sure this is temporary, but don’t know why. Yes, have been consciously eating and limiting snacking, but had nice bday dinner out last night and a glass of wine. Chose meal wisely and avoided bread in the table, but still had a nice date with my husband and enjoyed the experience. Assume numbers will go back up somewhat. Going to plug away and see what happens . . . .

08/16 – 131.6 – Yesterday I scheduled my biometric check (for my employer’s insurance) for 9/11. I am actually kind of excited about it this year. 1-I am finally in a healthy weight range, 2-It is almost 4 weeks away so I am hoping to be in the 120s by then, 3-My fasting glucose was borderline last year, and after having gestational diabetes 3 years ago, I am hoping to see that come back in the normal range.

Food -- cut out added sugars & flour products; focus on healthy plant-based foods with some fish & chicken. Calorie goal ~1400
Exercise -- Aim for a 4-6 mile walk most days; weights either working in garden/house or at gym.
Weight -- I don't like to set weight goals since I can control only what I eat & do, not what I weigh. However, my aim this round is to be consistently below 160, and my goal for the remainder of 2019 is 140 or less.

Whaaaaa??? Delayed reaction? Whatever it is, I’m pretty ticked off at myself. Sigh. But I have been eating better the past few days, so I have to think this is a fluke. We’ll see. Anyway, it’s a beautiful morning, so I’m off to a section of the river greenway I haven’t walked this summer. Then I plan to dig out old icky mulch piled on too thick by previous owners and replace with good stuff. Rain maybe later, so we’ll see. Life is good even with a few unwanted pounds.

8/11 169.1 I didn't post this weekend though I did track. Foodwise I was ok except for Saturday I was over by 300 or so calories. Basically at maintenance. Which is no biggie really other than the fact that I have somehow pulled my hamstring. I can't walk. I haven't walked since Thursday. My leg hurts when I do walk... My mental health state misses walking already. Sharing your house with two people is challenging, more so when one can't go upstairs or drive so they're in the living/kitchen/bathroom 24/7 and the other has mental health challenges. I did spend a lot of time with my great-niece. Please see the pic of miss Sassypants watching Toy Story and at the park with my convalescing friend. We ALL needed out of the house. Too bad it was so miserably hot even at 10:00 a.m.
8/12 168.2 Some of the water gone. The best way to get over this hamstring thing is rest. No walking for at least 2 weeks. I have been doing some research on exercises you can do with the injury. The two that are options for me are the stationary bike and the rowing machine. I've never tried the rowing machine I might give it a whirl over the next couple of weeks. I'm proud of myself that I'm not letting this stop my exercise schedule. Yes, it's going to jack with my schedule and I HATE that (OCD has many forms
) but it's not an excuse to sit on my booty. I won't lie the Saturday late-night muffin MIGHT have been a little self-pity but I woke up with the right mind-set on Sunday.
8/13 168.0 Right direction. No gym last night, I had a hair appointment. The pain in my leg has already lessened. Good on calories though I miss the extra I get with exercise. It's been the hottest days of the year so I couldn't have walked outside anyway. Last night at 9:02 my weather app said feels like 100 degrees Fahrenheit. WOOHOO, I'm ready for the Ber months already.
8/14 169.1 Why up? My only guess is the new exercise is causing me to retain water. I rode the stationary bike last night for just under an hour. I was able to get my heart rate up and actually kind of liked it. Tuesdays are normally weight night so I think I'll stick to that and avoid anything that stresses my legs. It's so easy to get discouraged when you really think - it should be down today and instead it's up. The Water Retention Variable... a daily weigher's arch-nemesis.
8/15 168.3 Back down. I rode the bike instead of weights. I wanted to do an hour since I wimped out the night before. I think I could do an hour Plus. I may try on Saturday when I have more time and people aren't at home waiting for me to cook dinner. I'll do weights tonight. I had my days all mixed up yesterday, I thought it was Tuesday. I'm glad it's Thursday and am ready for Friday. I'm tired. BF is taking his youngest to college this weekend and his oldest will go back next Friday. It will be so weird to have both gone.
8/16 167.4 Down again, I'll take it! I was low on calories yesterday, I wasn't trying just wasn't hungry enough. I wish there were more days like that
. I spent my hour at the gym doing weights and avoiding things that would involve my hamstring. It only cut out a couple of machines. I will be back on the bike this weekend. It kind of makes me want to ride a real bike. Maybe when the weather cools off I'll rent a bike. That's something different that I use to love. Happy Friday!!!

This round is gonna be weird as last ended, and this started in Las Vegas, where all my discipline, rules, plans, diets and what-not seemed to have stayed on the plane when I arrived in Vegas. I’ve probably gained all my weight back which I’ve lost since June. So my guess is my first weigh-in being back is around 165lbs. (168 was my highest!) We’ll see tomorrow how much damage Vegas means to me 🤣

Wow! “Only” 4lbs gain. I was sure my Vegas trip had done more damage than that. Not fun to restart my milestone I already reached, but hey. I knew it would, it was my choice. I enjoyed the trip, and now I just have to get back at it.

Wow, almost a pound! I didn’t even feel I was doing that well. I still have 3lbs to go before I’m back to pre-Vegas. Not sure how that will work out this weekend as we’re going camping. Guess I have to postpone my expectations, and instead be expecting to be back sometime end of next week. We’ll see I guess.

08/13 299.8 First thank you everyone!! I’m far from the finish line, but it’s so nice to hit this point in my journey. It’s been a long time since I’ve been under 300. My next big goal is 250, that will be my lowest weight in about 20 years.
I’m not surprised by a bounce, I’m just happy that it’s not higher. Yesterday I was hungry and craving high calorie, high sodium foods. I knew that I wasn’t thirsty so I ended up opting for some high sodium soup that I could fit into my calories. I felt a lot better afterwards. My nsv yesterday was listening to what my body needed without going on a binge.
08/14 299.8 I’m okay with maintaining I’m still retaining some water from the high sodium day. I’m also a little stiff and sore this morning from deep cleaning and rearranging my kitchen. Lastly I’m still waiting for tom to show, but I’ve had a few of the signs that it should arrive in a few days. I struggled a lot less yesterday and even turned down ordering dinner in because of a stressful afternoon and instead stayed on plan. I’m really proud of myself for not turning to food and to deal with my stress.
08/15 299.4 Hopefully I’ll keep dropping I’d love some more distance from 300.
08/16 298.6 I was out and about yesterday and will probably be again today or tomorrow. It’s been a long time since I’ve been out and about, I hated being seen and hated how much effort it took just to get to the car. Because of this I planned a HUGE dinner because I hadn’t had much earlier in the day. However as I was measuring it out I stopped at about half my planned portions of everything going I think this is more than enough. In the past I would have easily eaten three times the amount I had planned to serve myself. As a result after dinner I was under 1200 calories for the day, so I treated myself to an ice cream bar that was well within my calories and macros.
All in all it was a very good day. My nsv was walking around Walmart, I hadn’t walked in a store for at least three years.

08/16 - 224 - Surprised with this weigh in as when I came back from vacation, I was back up to 228ish (not as much as I thought due to the 16k+ steps everyday in Orlando, I'm sure). Although I've been sick, I've been trying to log and stay within my macros so that probably helped. Hopefully as I feel better I'll have the motivation to exercise.

8/13-167-Good food choices, no chips or a drink while I made dinner.😳My friend and I went horseback riding this morning and now I’ll do half of my big walk and start in on the laundry, housework and quilting......it’s supposed to be hot.
8/14-166-I’ve been eating my big meal at lunch and just having a protein shake at dinner and I feel so much better late in the evening without heavy food in me. I’ll get my 7 mile walk in and hopefully some yoga.
8/15-165-I hope I can keep the downward roll. I will walk, quilt and swim today. Later I will go help start setting up a fundraiser.
8/16-165-At least I stayed there.While we were setting up at the fundraiser, someone came around with a big tub of “evil” deep fried tortillas and I took one and ate it....why? I would have weighed a pound less this morning without that crap in me!

You can do this! Be mindful of your eating and cry if you need to. Baby bird leaving the nest can be hard but I know you can handle it! You can lose during this weekend or your cortisol may prevent it. Just hold on in case the ride is rough. And remember we love ❤️ you!
If you forgot about dinner until 10PM you must not have been hungry. If you aren’t HUNGRY don’t eat! Listen to your body, don’t eat just because it is mealtime.
Your gain was probably mostly water retention from eating what you hadn’t been eating. Just cutting back on carbs makes a huge difference for me.

08/12 120.0 Flying home this afternoon. Looking forward to hugging my DH, scratching my cat, and sleeping in my own bed, as well as seeing other family, friends, and neighbors. I will miss Mbabydoll.
08/13 121.0 Day after travel day. Ate a really not Keto lunch yesterday at Taco Bueno before heading to the airport. Did not have nearly enough water and had one adult beverage on the plane. I was exhausted when I got home. Going to lunch with friends today.
08/14 121.5 Lunch yesterday was not what I was hoping for. Chinese is on place that I know is going to be carby but this was mega carby! Travel+2crappy high carb days+2 days no TMI = this! It’s okay because this will take care of itself.
08/15 122.0 After weighing finally had a trip to the bathroom. More to come, if you get my drift! 😁
08/16 122.5 After I had some “brunch” yesterday I learned that our friends were treating us to dinner. Had I known that was the plan, I would have had only a small snack. I ate a little and ended up with a belly ache all evening. Need more water and more time in the bathroom! Got some groceries so I/we can eat at home.
