Count calories, believe in results, give it a few weeks and adjust as necessary. I actually tend to gain water weight the first week when I start a diet as I go from dry mode while sitting in an office, to water retention amd constantly hydrating for exercise and supplements.7

You lost 150% of what you expected to lose. You're fine.9

There is no need to overthink and over-worry about this. You lost more weight than your target. That is certainly something to be celebrated and not worried about. Just keep on following your plan and you will be fine.2

Perhaps you didn't have a bunch of water weight to lose? If that were true then you are right on track. I wouldn't worry - slow and steady wins the "race".4

OP, you seem to be in the same mindset you were in earlier this year with all of the obsessive questions. Truly, all the information you really need to know is in the stickies:

If there isn't something there (like why you haven't lost more water weight), it's because it isn't worth wasting a moment of your time thinking about.5 -

The amount of water in our bodies is constantly shifting up and down, at times up to several pounds a day/week. Many do experience a little extra drop in water weight when first starting a weight loss plan, but that could easily be offset by otherwise normal fluctuations. And what does it matter? We want to lose fat, and the only way to know how successfully you are doing so is by the trend over (a lot) of time, not the result of one or two weigh-ins.

Agreed, and also stresses the importance of sticking with the plan and not stopping and starting. If you kept on a reasonable plan from the beginning of the year you wouldn’t be worrying about water weight loss from starting again in August.5 -
Forget water weight. Ignore water weight. Water weight doesn't matter so stop paying attention to water weight.
Even if you did lose water weight you'd gain it back right after.0
