August 16 - 158.5 - Maybe I can get in more calorie burning today than I did yesterday (only managed to burn off 262 cal). It seems that I need to burn at least 500 each day to see any kind of results. I rely on Zumba-esque type workouts to get the most burn for the time. Tomorrow is the multi-cultural festival in my town, so I hope to wake up to a good number before sampling the delicious international fare.
August 17 - 157.5 - I consumed 1700 calories yesterday! I did burn 600 calories through exercise, but I am pretty sure that I will show a gain once my slow metabolism catches up. I really need to eat 1200 calories or less and burn a minimum of 500 calories in order to lose any weight.
August 18 - 158.7 - It was very late by the time I got a chance to eat last night. Nevertheless, I am happy to be under 160. Only 12 days left to hit that magical 155, but I have been striving for it for 2 months. It might take me 3 months to lose 5 pounds, but I am determined.
August 19 - 157.4 - I expect this to go up, but had a beautiful calorie laden dinner with Champagne last night, and late. (35% whipping cream sauce, high calorie peanut sauce noodles etc.) The leftovers will need to be eaten in very tiny amounts.

So I am at the weight that I was at on August 7th. I had good hopes for the month back then, but feeling right now that all of the work that I am putting in is just not paying off. I am not going to quit, but I sure feel like giving up. My body doesn't want to part with the fat obviously. If anyone knows any ways to trick the body into letting the fat go I am all ears.

As I look back over the month I see a festival and a nice dinner in there, however, I never had a day where MFP didn't show excess calories left each day, so even though I ate like a normal person a couple of times, I either still stayed within my calorie range or upped my workouts for that day.

Final Thoughts for the Month: Given all the scale bobbling, happy to see any loss. A full pound would have been nice, but down is good.
I started off the month strong and even saw a new low mid-month. Then there was the county fair and a long weekend trip. Yes. I ate like "normal people" (@dawnbgethealthy) and fell off my exercise routine. But I stayed mindful and kept it with reason. I didn't revert to old bingeing behaviors. I stayed, at least, minimally active even when I was mentally exhausted.
Life happens. I intend to live it.

August has been the most successful weight-loss months I've had in a long time! Posting my weight daily is so helpful and so are all of you.
Increasing my fitness and dropping the last few lbs will be my focus for September. I've definitely lost some strength and I'd like to get it back.

Yes, for sure we don't want to miss life if we spend so much attention and energy watching each calorie.
I get so frustrated when I see people who eat "normally" and don't need to turn down lunches and dinners out, say no to bbqs etc.
Truth is, I can't eat like "normal" people and not gain weight. I tried that last year and gained 40 pounds in 6 months.
I think that I will have to log and watch forever. Darn those "normal" people : - P
A couple times a month to indulge (not over-indulge) a little is really needed for me in order to stay diligent for the long run.
New month coming up and I will be away on holiday for 2 weeks at the end of September. I cancelled my all-inclusive - losing 1 pound per month, I know that I always gain 7 pounds in 7 days at all-inclusives, so decided against it, and having to take 7 months to get back off. Going a la carte. Hoping to be able to maintain.

Havenโt really been trying. In my head I want to knuckle down and just go for the last 30lbs but I havenโt been putting in the effort to get there.
Iโm eating healthy, Iโm super active and Iโm getting in lots of workouts.
I know that I will find my next surge of will power soon. If I just shave off a few calories and add in a few more workouts Iโll be back to work.
The goal I did win is August 18th marked my one year anniversary on MFP and in that year I lost 60lbs so five pounds a month works!!!6 -

I've finished the month on a very strong note but I'm a bit concerned because I don't usually lose weight this fast. I'm hoping it's not our family matters coming into play.
I'll continue to count calories and do cardio at the gym.

September starting weight - 173lbs (salt bloat from another birthday dinner)
September goal - 168lbs (my goal will always be to lose 5lbs. Anything else is gravy
Ultimate goal - 168lbs (also I don't want to be overwhelmed. So ultimate goal will always be my goal for that month). I haven't been in the 160s in a few years so serious goal.
