I had hoped for another run this morning but got the stink eye. More landscaping, I guess. Tomorrow is supposed to be raining so hopefully no landscaping and lots of running.9

A little slower today but not too bad.
Goals:
1. September Goal: 41-44 miles total
2. Run 3.25 continuous running without walking
3. Run 3.25 miles in under 30 minutes
Total miles: 6.48
9/1: 3.23 total miles in 31:55, 2.86 continuous run
9/7: 3.25 miles in 33:02, 2.86 continuous run5 -
To put my age group win in perspective, there were only 72 people in the race, of which only 39 had times under 40 minutes.
That's the smallest this race has ever been. I do hope they can get the numbers up. It's for such a great cause and the girl who organizes it is truly a special person. I think at the peak there were 125.

I procrastinated going out for my run this morning because my quads were sore from my strength workout on Thursday. I did finally get out the door and the first attempt at running was a fail. But I kept walking at a good pace and eventually was able to run more than anticipated. Got my 45 mins in that was on the plan. We leave for Reno tomorrow.
Note - still no functional buttons on reply for pictures, spoiler or striking text, etc.. I have tried all the usual; clearing cache and restarting to no avail. Guess I will ope a problem with MFP.

To put my age group win in perspective, there were only 72 people in the race, of which only 39 had times under 40 minutes.
That's the smallest this race has ever been. I do hope they can get the numbers up. It's for such a great cause and the girl who organizes it is truly a special person. I think at the peak there were 125.
If I were talking to a group of runners and trying to advertise for a race I felt was a good cause and needed more participants, I think I would mention the name of the race, and a general geographic location, like what country you're even in.
I tried to creep your profile to find a location, but it's not even public.
Now I gotta come in here and ASK. Where do you live? What race was this?

Just popping in to update before I forget. Had a quick look through the posts (I am SO behind) and can see some people have raced this weekend - well done all.
Got out for my long run today and my longest ever to date - mostly felt fine but it did feel a bit difficult mentally around the 12th km (my app currently shows km) before I bounced back- will also be interesting to see how my legs feel tomorrow!

3 miles this morning before taking mom out to lunch for her birthday. I am stuffed, and I probably should run again tonight to compensate for everything I ate!
The run this morning was intervals with cadence drills. I am trying to be more purposeful with this marathon training so Incan improve my time.

He has cleared 96.2 at just over 33 hours! 65 other people have DNF'd but he is still going. At his last reported pace, he has probably 2 hours left to run. He must be exhausted beyond understanding at this point.9 -

Wow way to go @MNLittleFinn !
I ran, like, four miles today... amazing to think about 103.
Supposed to be about 10k on trails but my Achilles’ tendon was achy so I did one lap and called it good. I’m still working up to where I used to be trail running, jumping over stuff and going up and down hills is tough on the tendon.
In other news my husband almost ate a bug. You know June bugs, not the brown small Asian invaders which are sometimes called June bugs by people too young to know any better, but real June bugs which are giant iridescent green scarab beetles? Yeah one flew right in his open mouth and down his throat, bumped into his uvula, he coughed it up and it crawled out on his tongue! Gross!!!!! So I had to make fun of him for breathing with his mouth so wide open that a giant bug could fly straight in. I have while running swallowed my share of gnats and once been repeatedly bonked in the eye socket by a really territorial carpenter bee, but swallowing a whole beetle seems like it should be some kind of record.10 -

@7lenny7 Congrats on the AG! I haven't run a 5k hard in ages, mainly because they are so painful. Maybe I should, just to measure where I am.
0908-10.5k total 10.5k goal-145k
First run of the month. Yeah I know. It was supposed to be a 29km but after a week of not enough sleep I just didn't have it in me - I needed a walk break after 3km! Not a good day for a long run.
I'm in a bit of a conundrum. I was originally planning on running the Shanghai Marathon on Nov. 17, but 1) my training is not going very well and 2) my boss doesn't like the idea very much, since I'll be the lead on the project and if I'm running, well let's just say it ain't gonna be pretty. She's been trying to talk me into switching to the 10km all week, and I'm probably going to.
So the question becomes, what do I do now? Do I find a HM race nearby and call it a season? Or should I find a spring marathon and restart my training plan? Ditch running entirely for a month and learn rock-climbing?6 -

Yep that’s the one! We used to have them everywhere when I was a child but the Japanese invaders outbred them and now they are very rare around here. It didn’t seem to have taken any harm from being horked up and flew away.1 -
Finished my half in 1:54:23 this morning. Pretty good run considering the week I had. I ate my body weight in pizza last night which obviously helped.
The weather here is classic spring - torrential rain, blustery wind and moments of sunshine. We had a huge storm last night - big enough to make them cancel the marathon distance - so we were all a little nervous about the weather. It turned out to be a stunning morning, however the wind picked up in the second half.
Not my fastest race, but it was a fairly hilly course and we also had to run along the beach a few times for a total of about 1.5km, so it was never going to be a PB course.
I managed second in my age group, which I’m thrilled with, and was 22 female home in a feild of 201. Not a bad day at the office.
More importantly, I bet all my friends!

We have the Japanese version here too. They eat all the fruit on the trees down to the pit if they can get to it and they fly right at you! I am always waving them away on the trail - Hate them! Would hate it worse if I had one fly into my mouth! Yuck!1 -
6k sat night and Another PB for 5k and 6k. It really is a testament to how slow I go. The phone notification that the Gvmt is basically falling apart gave me a distraction and the extra people out and about on a Sat made me keep a decentish form.

Hey all, have missed over 100 posts. I hope everyone's weekend has gone/is going great and everyone who is racing has an awesome race, and those just running have an awesome run!
We moved into our new house! It feels like we have so much space. I also keep remarking that we are so suburban now. We live in a quied cul-de-sac, and todayy 5yr and 3yr olds were out riding on their bikes on the footpath. We were also very comfortable saying "go outside and play" and just watch from the windows and know they have a large area to play in. We currently only have a dining table and some chairs cause the rest of our stuff is still in storage till Thursday. Have to say I LOVE hour home. So happy.
No running in a few days, but I played indoor netball today for the first time in 11 years. I thought I would die - those who haven't played its incredibly fast. It's 4 quarters of 8 minutes and you are pretty much on the go for the whole time. I did 3000 steps during the game, the equivalent of a 3k run!
730am start for me tomorrow, already got my stuff out for an early run, and am excited to discover my new area. And for the first time in YEARS I have to find a car park...13 -
