Morning everyone.
Well saw our stuff last night and it's both not as bad and somewhat worse than expected.
As I thought the leather couches, seats and wooden furniture were in fact covered in a dusting of mould. Easily removed with a damp cloth and bleach.
Most of the boxes and contents are fine - it's mostly kitchen stuff. I have not yet looked at my sewing stuff and fabrics. I'm a little afraid to.
On a happier note, I got up at 6 for my run. It was raining. So I got my gear on, and by the time I got dressed, the rain had stopped. I went out and did 3k, no rain at all. Got home, and 5 mins later it really opened up. Excellent timing.
Finally, my scales have arrived. So I weighed myself. Not as bad as I expected, I've gained about 3kg in the last 3 months. Hubby has also gained a lot of weight lately and has started snoring a lot. So I suggested we have a weight loss challenge, first to lose 10% of their current body weight. We are going to put in $1 for every kg needed to lose and the winner wins the pot. It's only going to be around $16 cause I have 7kg to lose, and I know he will win it (men lose faster than women generally) but im hoping my competitive side will keep me going, I want to win the bet, especially when the odds are against me. And if I lose, we'll we will both be a bit healthier! Also losing 7kg will put me at my goal weight by new year.14 -

Another run this morning in Princeton. It was humid but at least a little bit cooler than yesterday. It was damp out so I didn't go for the more grassy trails that I ran yesterday. I checked out part of the Lawrence Hopewell trail system that was paved bike paths and an old paved road closed to vehicular traffic. It seemed like yesterday everything was uphill so I was happy to find a nice downhill section today - until I realized I was going to have to double back the way I came or run way farther than I had planned.
The meeting was kind of exhausting and it rained so I'm glad I got a morning run in. Now for some wine, dinner and hopefully an early bedtime before more of the same tomorrow. It's supposed to be considerably cooler tomorrow, which will be nice if I can get another run in.7 -

My training schedule called for 3 miles at a conversational pace today. I put my shoes in and went out happily trodding along. Then both sisters, my daughter and my mother all randomly started texting me about different things. And at some point my Fitbit and phone became disconnected and stopped tracking the GPS. I was so annoyed I started walking for a bit trying to figure out the tech and answer the random texts. Once reconnected I started running again then realized I didn’t know what distance I had become disconnected and how much further I needed to go. After a little mental warfare I decided to just run for 25-30 minutes and call it done. I realize now that Strava doesn’t define if I ran or not. I did get the 3 miles in so I followed the plan. I just let myself get flustered. Rest day tomorrow13

My alarm went off this morning, but I must've needed more sleep because when I rolled over to switch off my alarm, next thing I know it's an hour later and I need to get ready for work! I ended up doing a tempo run after I finished work. I ran past a little food truck parked on the side of the road selling trays of tiny hot cinnamon donuts - they smelled SO good, luckily I don't carry any cash with me on my runs because I definitely would've stopped for those
I'm having trouble keeping up with the thread, but I've seen some awesome pictures and read some great race reports. Congratulations to all who have raced
@martaindale Congratulations on the AG place! Hopefully next year they'll have sorted out the organisation a little better
@rheddmobile Oh no! Sorry about the robbery that really sucks

Bleh, I woke up early for a run but have been having pain in the ball of my foot (metatarsalgia) when I walk around the house barefoot - putting on slippers made it go away yesterday but it feels worse today. Mayo’s website says “you might develop it if you participate in activities that involve running and jumping.” Thanks Mayo. Rest day it is.
I’d be frustrated, but at this point I’m convinced the universe is teaching me a lesson, and I’m trying to be a good student so it will leave me alone.9 -

Day 3 of running in NJ. It was lovely this morning - 59 degrees and the humidity wasn't too oppressive. I looped around some more of the conference center campus and paved bike trails. At 3 miles in I thought I was going to call it a day but then it seemed to feel a bit easier so I explored a little more- and ended up with 6. I think tomorrow will be a rest day then as I'm traveling back home and I'm up on miles a bit. Now to get myself in gear for another full day of meetings. At least there is no shortage of food here!6 -
i went for a walk yesterday and got a tad sweaty(barely) and that led to my steristrips to start peeling. they weren't ready. reapplied and reminded not to be active and be a potato. argh12

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts re: the robbery. We got the glass repaired and bought some emergency kit for our race (also accidentally bought a pair of new shoes, going into a running store is dangerous) such as a spi belt and body glide, and we ordered some stuff that should arrive today. I keep remembering stuff that was in my bag, such as my favorite really expensive MAC lipstick that I would never pay full price for, but I got it in an Ipsy bag. But I think I can eventually replace everything except my kalegi jacket hood, which tears me up because it’s my favorite piece of running gear, and not made anymore. Ugh!
Anyway we picked up our packets for Saturday and in the event email was a nice surprise:
The right hand photo is me and my husband at this event last year! I want the full sized version, it looks like a good photo. There were no photos for sale or posted anywhere from this event that I can find online, I wonder if I can contact the media person and ask about the photo.11 -

Hey, I didn't know there was a race there tomorrow... I was planning to do my long run (20 miles). I assume the 5K is generally around the lake and maybe a bit extra somewhere?0 -
September goal: 45 mi running
9/10: 3.2, walk 1.9
9/11: walk 5.3
9/12: walk 4.1
Today a 5k race test. Hoping for a new PR. Isn't it weird how two rest days kinda suck? I understand why we have them leading up to a race, or race test, but once you get hooked to this running thing, going two days without is strange.10 -
Was going to take Kody for a short run last night, for his sake but a sore foot made me decide on a walk instead. Hoping it's OK for tonight's full moon run, since I'm leading it.6

Start is on the grass across from the pavilion next to the visitors center, then up the hill through the parking lot past the visitor’s center to the road, right onto the road and up that long hill to the fed ex center road, down past the fed ex center on the bicycle road, then around the lake clockwise and back up to the pavilion. So yeah, basically the lake plus fed ex hill. The distance is actually 3.36 miles. I’m pretty sure that bombing down that hill by the fed ex center is how I tore up my Achilles’ tendon.
If you’re at liberty you should come! There are tons of folks, usually about 5000, and a nice party. It’s not a serious runners’ race, tons of walkers, but everyone always has a good time.3 -

I was going to do 20 miles anyway tomorrow, but looks like that is for cyclists. I might do the 5K and stick around for another 17 depending on how I feel... or maybe I should actually push in the 5K and run 20 miles on Sun. instead. Hmm... that may be the better idea anyway. It's been a year since I have run a 5K race. Would you and husband want to meet?3
