9/10 166.1 I'm in a similar place I was last round on day 1. Getting ready to travel for work with my BF in tow for a few days. I must say NO to all sodium heavy things. At least I'm seeing my man. He hasn't had to travel for 3 weeks in a row!
9/11 165.9 Yeah!!! No BF after all. EDIT: The yeah is for the weight, not the missing BF.
9/12 No Scale I was happy to be down yesterday! I'm sad my BF isn't here with me but I woke up a little sick so maybe it's better he's not here I was under on calories yesterday and lifted weights last night. Going back tonight to ride the stationary bike. No scale until Saturday. I have a doctors appt tomorrow afternoon. I hope he can tell me something good about my leg. I miss walking so much.
9/13 No scale Went to the gym last night and did over 12 miles. I'm consistently doing 5-minute miles now. The location I went to has new stationary bikes that have scales built-in so no more put in your weight, it came up 165 pounds without my help. I hope that was accurate because it meant I wasn't retaining too much water! It was after work so not my regular weighing time but I was happy. I don't remember what the scale said the last time I was the docs but I think I'll be down around 20 or 25 pounds. I should be able to spend a lot of time with my BF this weekend AND my friend Mark that has been staying with me recovering since July 9th is going to try to leave on Monday. Fingers crossed ladies. I love him like a brother but he's a brother that's been living on my couch for 2 months. Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!
9/14 165.9 Played at the park with the baby for almost two hours! Dinner date with boyfriend. Great night
9/15 165.5 Easy Sunday. I went fishing this morning, then brunch with girlfriends. Afterward, one friend and I went to a couple of estate sales. Doc said no tear in my muscle, stay off of it another couple of weeks.
9/16 167.2 Went a little crazy last night, not a pound and a half worth so this should drop in a day or two. The only "workout" was a little housework yesterday. That and a lot of walking around at estate sales . I'm going to go ride the bike at the gym tonight. Maybe go a little extra. The doc was very happy with my weight loss and blood work numbers. He said just keep doing what I'm doing. He said no tear in my muscle, and to stay off of it another couple of weeks. He gave me some exercises to do and if staying off and the exercises don't help to come back.10 -
Food -- Focus on healthy plant-based foods with some fish, chicken, & eggs. Avoid flour & added sugar. No snacking.
Exercise -- Aim for a 4-6 mile walk most days; weights either working in garden/house or at gym.
Weight -- I can control only what I eat & do, not what I weigh on a day-to-day basis. Long-term goals below.

Ugh. I can’t seem to control myself. Worse, it seems I’m indulging in willful self-sabotage. What’s up with that? And I’ve missed my walks as I paint the house. It burns calories but it’s not the same. Sigh.
09/11 - 163.6
I did better yesterday with snacking (as in, I didn’t), but a friend gave me a gorgeous eggplant, so eggplant parmigiana for dinner. Yummy, but cheesy and therefore salty and caloric. Salads today! I also want to say that, though I haven’t been responding much as I scurry off to paint my house happy colors, I do read through everyone’s posts. Thank you for the inspiration and sense of community. You 10-day challenge people are the best.
09/12 - 163
Okie dokie.

I haven't yet conquered my late-night snacking impulse. Aaack. I didn't do this for years, but have gotten back in the bad habit. I will try to get past this one night at a time. I'd knit in front of the tv but am sure my kitten would want to help! Maybe I can just sit on my hands. I'm thinking of giving intermittent fasting a try -- stop eating at 6 or so until breakfast. Who here is or has done this, and what do/did you think of the results?

Still painting the house, room by room.... Yesterday I painted the walk-in closet in my office/studio a gorgeous tangerine. I’m half tempted to move a desk in there and make it my writing closet! This afternoon I plan to start on the actual room — a gorgeous violet. Whee! I love color! Enjoy your day, everyone!

09/10: 205.3 I had a high sodium day yesterday so expected! I'm hoping for a substantial drop in the next couple of days.
09/11: 203.3 HAAAA! I knew it! Stupid water weight skewing my goal last round. Oh well, I'm going to KILL IT this round!
09/12: 203.4 Well, I ate pizza for lunch and dinner yesterday sooooo I'll take it! LOL oops.
09/13: 203.4 I'm not doing too great with staying within my sodium goals but I'm definitely staying within my calories sooo whatever! It'll come off. In the meantime, I need to work on not consuming so much sodium!
09/14: 203 Yay! I went to the gym for the first time in 3 years last night! I'm super unfit so I just went on the treadmill for half another and did some of the circuit buuut I WENT! 😁 I'd like to drop another 0.5-1lb this round.
09/15: 202.9 I'm not obese anymore!! Just severely overweight 😂💪 Not sure how this happened lol. I didn't go over maintenance calories but definitely consumed a lot of sodium! I think I'm still retaining some water considering how tight my rings are today. Ate like crap today as well so I guess we will see what the scale says tomorrow lol.
09/16: 202.9 That could've been much worse! I had a really bad food day yesterday and went waaay over on my sodium. However, I did stay within my maintenance calories soooo should be fine. I did get lots of steps in though. Back on track today and heading to the gym once my son is in bed!

09/12/129.7/Met my calorie goal yesterday. Zumba plus walked 1.5 miles.
09/13/129.6/Met my calorie goal. Walked 3 miles.
09/14/129.2/Amazed I didn’t gain from salt and calories. It will probably catch up with me tomorrow. Over by an estimated 800 calories (dinner at a Mexican restaurant). 😕On a positive note, I took a yoga class. Will do some more serious calorie burning today.
09/15/127.9/If every day could be like yesterday, I’d be so healthy and fit! I had lots of free time, so I ran one mile, took a Zumba class, walked the dog and spent a few hours working in the yard. Also met my calorie goal.
09/16/127.3/Not as active as Saturday, but did some yard work and walked the dog one mile. Ate French fries for the first time all year, and they did not sit well. 😕 It seems my system can’t handle fried foods anymore since I avoid them so much. Met my calorie goal.

@SheilaBoneham We were using IF before we knew it had a name! During my WW journey in 2008-9 that was the way we ate. We pretty much continued that after moving to Vegas. DH goes to the gym early and eats after. I do my BPC in the morning and might have something around 11. Dinner is usually around 4-5. It has worked well for me. Because I stay very low carb, sometimes I just am not hungry.4

9/10 179.5 (-2.5) Very excited about this number!!! I guess increasing the calories burnt is paying off @anlaing016.
9/11 179 (.5) It appears that working out more is helping with the scale. I’ve added cardio to my weekly workouts and I’m starting to see a difference. I hope my energy levels can stay up and can keep it up.
9/12 178 (-1) The extra workouts are definitely paying off, weight is coming off and my clothes fit better.
9/13 177 (-1) Happy that it’s finally Friday, busy weekend ahead. Hopefully I can stay on track with the meals and workouts.
9/14 178.5 +1.5 Had 2 pieces of pizza and an açaí bowl yesterday so the number on the scale was no surprise. Woke up early today to get my cardio in just in case we don’t have time to go to the gym @anlaing016
9/15 177.5 (-1.0) Had a cheat DAY yesterday but went beast mode at the gym with my accountability partner. Feeling very tired, listening to my body and resting today.
9/16 179.5 +2 The weekend won!!!! Woke up early to hit the gym and I’m back on track.

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

9/11 120.5 Getting ready to go on our guild quilt retreat tomorrow. Sheesh, I have so much stuff, it’s crazy!
9/12 120.5 Last weigh-in until Monday. Looking forward to a fun weekend with 70 of my quilt guild friends.

9/16 122.0 I’m okay with this. The retreat was FANTASTIC! Good to have a weekend away with my gal pals although DH says I can never go away without him again. (That’s nice to hear after almost 50 years.) I got over 100% of my step goal each of the last 4 days. The a/c went out in my car which wasn’t a good thing since it was over 100 degrees everywhere.8 -

RESTART!! ~ ROUND 1 GOALS
Lose 2-3 pounds. Have increased my calorie count to 1500 and including Carb and Calorie Cycling this time.
09/11 - 221.0
09/12 - DNW
After reaching a 75lb loss, personal and family stressors became way too exhausting back in June and I practically LEAPED off the wagon. Sad to say, but comfort food was my only solace w/ all my time and energy dedicated to everyone other than myself. After a summer of very little exercise and LOTS and lots of carb and sugar consumption for sanity's sake, I've regained 19 pounds ... all in my midsection, hips and thighs of course .... uggghhh.
09/13 - 217.8 That's exciting!

09/13 …..197.8 ….. After travel weigh-in following two days of travel, inactivity & restaurant food. Today will be a strict day & will include increasing the walking & exercise level back up to my goals. Yesterdays sad stats: 2369 Calories In / 2384 Calories burned. Approximately 197 Carbs. (ugg) 7218 Total Steps & 3.05 Total Miles. 11/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 17 minutes last night which is a lot for me. Probably a carb crash again. Just like the song said, I’m “starting all over again”. No problem, I’m up for it! All caught up on posts & am proud of you all. So many great goals!
09/14 …..197.4 ….. I was hoping for a bigger drop but the Chinese food is hanging in there holding in the fluids, I guess. A great day yesterday but I missed my longer evening walk waiting on customers (expected ETA was 5:00 PM) who arrived at 11:30 PM instead. I did get in a small walk around my property, not straying too far from the office lest they pull in. Yesterday’s stats: 1434 Calories In / 2810 Calories burned. 28 Net Carbs. 17,258 Total Steps & 7.3 total miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 2 hours & 48 minutes. I woke up wide awake & refreshed. However, I hope to get more sleep tonight as I do think this hurts my weight loss & metabolism. 0.4 lb loss is almost a ½ pound so I’ll take it. Have a great Saturday everyone!
09/15 …..193.0 ….. There’s that whoosh & gone is the fluid retention from the Chinese Food. (I kept mum @petegrdriver and it finally came!) A very good day yesterday. Stats: 1374 Calories In / 2708 Calories burned. 32 Net Carbs. 17,074 Total Steps & 7.22 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 20 minutes. I took a neighborhood walk for 58 minutes and burned 342 extra calories. Cabin cleaning today.
09/16 …..191.0 ….. Best low weight in a while! So happy. I worked hard for this yesterday. Yesterday’s stats: 1022 Calories In / 3136 Calories Out. 14 Net Carbs. 22,193 Total Steps & 9.39 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 3 hours & 18 minutes. I moderately walked for 68 minutes, I did low-impact aerobics for 16 minutes & I danced for 17 minutes. Sample song “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns & Roses Total extra calorie burn was 625 calories. I also cleaned cabins & did cabin laundry which was part of my overall calorie burn. I’m elated today.
09/17 …..xxxxx …..
09/18 …..xxxxx ….. Business Travel & restaurant meal planned with son traveling with me.
09/19 …..xxxxx ….. Sadly ending round on an after travel weigh-in but glad to be getting my son out & about.

Thanks so much Donna! So sorry just seeing this, but its great to be back! After only a week of getting back in the groove, I realized just how good this whole process is for me. I'm learning that even if I'm "off the wagon" the daily accountability is the best thing I can do for myself.
Journeying with awesome people like yourself is definitely a plus!

@debbie7373 Why did I eat multiple handfuls of cashews yesterday? They were delicious but I wasn't even hungry. I just thought they are nuts. Sure they have fat but it's healthy and they're not sweetened or salted. Just delicious. Usually, one handful will take care of my fix but yesterday one wasn't doing it.7

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

09/10-206.4 WHOOSH! I have been waiting. I am almost afraid to believe it. Hopefully it sticks. I have been very consistent but my body has been holding on. Hopefully this is the start of some consistent downward movement on the scale.
09/11 210… huh?
09/12 208.4… a little better! I am working very hard right now. My store is busy, I am doing a lot of lifting. My body is very sore, but I will just keep doing what I should & hope for some good results

09/10 197.8 (+1.0)/ 29.2%. Late weigh in after breakfast but it is what it is. I may have a number goal for this challenge. But my challenge to myself is to be better than I’ve been. With the help of a few people I believe I can!!!
09/11 197.0 (-.8) yesterday when I thought I didn’t have it in me. When I didn’t want to do anything. I went to the gym on no sleep. Then forced myself to do cardio later. Although when I finish these small accomplishments I feel great, I’m more proud I didn’t just say “it can wait till tomorrow”. Let’s see what today brings me. Although Wednesday’s usually put me in a good mood.
09/12 197.0 (+/- 0)/ 29.0% (-.2%) didn’t really feel like weighing in. Been a looonnngggg exhausting morning and this is the first time I’ve had to take a minute to myself and breathe. Weighed in (only because talked me into it) after being awake for 7 hours, eating a full breakfast, almost half a gallon of water and a workout. The number isn’t too bad for how my day is going so far.
09/13 198.0 (+1)/ 29.1% (+.1) been having a blah last few days. Didn’t even feel like tracking my dinner and snacks last night. This morning has been go, go, go. I’ve had water. I’ve been in the sun for a few hours. I’ve had breakfast and a snack. I’m heading to the gym now but my motivation level is super low
09/14 197.4 (-.6)/ 29.0% (-.1) didn’t eat the best stuff yesterday. But controlled my quantity. I worked out yesterday and felt really good. Hoping to keep this habit going.

09/16 198.0 (+.6)/ 29.0% (+/- 0) Weekend won this time around. But I enjoyed it with family and friends so couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Now time to get back on track. And new goal for this challenge is just to get back to my starting weight.
