My goal is to get back to my lower calorie goal and start losing more than water weight.
09/10 298.8 Guess I was wrong, there was still some water weight to be lost! Today will be my last maintenance day of this set. I’m planning a day or two of eating at maintenance calories here or there for special occasions now that I know that I can stay on plan more often than not.
09/11 299.2 A bit of a bounce up, but dinner was high in sodium so I’m not surprised. Back to lower calories today. I’m ending the maintenance break at only 3 pounds higher than I started it at. I don’t think that’s too bad at all.
09/12 297.4 Who knew that I still had water weight to drop? I did pretty well yesterday staying on track. It doesn’t hurt that I’ve decided that I’m not going to be as aggressive in my weight loss goals for the moment. I know that I can be if I want, but I think that led to the binges and struggling in August. I still plan to lose, but I’ve set my calorie goals for a little higher than I did before in hopes that it will lead to fewer binges and less struggling. If it doesn’t work out I can always change things.
09/13 297.8
09/14 298.8 I picked the perfect time to end my break, it’s time for the pre tom stall/bounce. That’s okay though because I usually drop a lot once tom is over.
09/15 297.4 That’s a nice little drop. Hopefully once tom arrives (on time I hope) I’ll see some new lows.
09/16 298.6 The tom hungriest got to me yesterday. However, I didn’t binge I ate at my higher end of calories and ate back some of my activity calories. In the past I would have dealt with being over hungry until I binged on something. Thankfully tom started last night and hopefully the worst of the hungry is past. If not that’s okay, so I lose a little less this round, I know that this passes.
09/17 296.0 There we go! I’m now a little lower than I was before starting the diet break. I knew that it wouldn’t be long. My next break will be for the last two weeks of December.

9/10 166.1 I'm in a similar place I was last round on day 1. Getting ready to travel for work with my BF in tow for a few days. I must say NO to all sodium heavy things. At least I'm seeing my man. He hasn't had to travel for 3 weeks in a row!
9/11 165.9 Yeah!!! No BF after all. EDIT: The yeah is for the weight, not the missing BF.
9/12 No Scale I was happy to be down yesterday! I'm sad my BF isn't here with me but I woke up a little sick so maybe it's better he's not here I was under on calories yesterday and lifted weights last night. Going back tonight to ride the stationary bike. No scale until Saturday. I have a doctors appt tomorrow afternoon. I hope he can tell me something good about my leg. I miss walking so much.
9/13 No scale Went to the gym last night and did over 12 miles. I'm consistently doing 5-minute miles now. The location I went to has new stationary bikes that have scales built-in so no more put in your weight, it came up 165 pounds without my help. I hope that was accurate because it meant I wasn't retaining too much water! It was after work so not my regular weighing time but I was happy. I don't remember what the scale said the last time I was the docs but I think I'll be down around 20 or 25 pounds. I should be able to spend a lot of time with my BF this weekend AND my friend Mark that has been staying with me recovering since July 9th is going to try to leave on Monday. Fingers crossed ladies. I love him like a brother but he's a brother that's been living on my couch for 2 months. Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!
9/14 165.9 Played at the park with the baby for almost two hours! Dinner date with boyfriend. Great night
9/15 165.5 Easy Sunday. I went fishing this morning, then brunch with girlfriends. Afterward, one friend and I went to a couple of estate sales. Doc said no tear in my muscle, stay off of it another couple of weeks.
9/16 167.2 Went a little crazy last night, not a pound and a half worth so this should drop in a day or two. The only "workout" was a little housework yesterday. That and a lot of walking around at estate sales . I'm going to go ride the bike at the gym tonight. Maybe go a little extra. The doc was very happy with my weight loss and blood work numbers. He said just keep doing what I'm doing. He said no tear in my muscle, and to stay off of it another couple of weeks. He gave me some exercises to do and if staying off and the exercises don't help to come back.
9/17 165.5 I did not go to the gym. I have a cold/sinus thing happening and had no energy for the gym. Driving back to StL this afternoon. I've been traveling a lot the last 6 weeks and have missed weighing in on the last day. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night due to my nose being on a constant drip. It's going to be a long drive today. At least I have a good book. I doubt I'll go to the gym tonight. I have meetings tomorrow I need to be prepared for, so I'll probably just get dinner and go back to my second home. I've had the same goal weight for 3 rounds, it would be nice to hit it because TOM water retention is going to start and that delays me again. It's not a race, it's not a race, it's not a race.

Had a busy weekend with a friend visiting from out of town, so I haven't had time to post here. I always make time for logging, though

Longterm Goal Weight: 195.0 lbs
Round 89
Starting Weight: 307.8 lbs
Goal Weight: 305.8 lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
09/10: 308.2 lbs (+0.4) … the smallish uptick continues. Nothing that I’m worried about. I’m starting to feel some real benefits to my running… since just yesterday I’ve noticed my walking pace has increased a decent amount without a corresponding increase in effort. Not too long ago it felt like a chore just walking around…
09/11: 307.2 lbs (-1.0) … some recovery. Back on the right side of zero for this round again. Completed Couch to 5k Week 4 Day 3 this morning.
09/12: 307.7 lbs (+0.5)
09/13: 308.0 lbs (+0.3) … I keep hovering around the same weight. It’ll pass eventually if I just keep doing what I’m doing.
09/14: 303.6 lbs (-4.4) … wow. New low! Completed Couch to 5k Week 5 Day 1 this morning.
09/15: 305.3 lbs (+1.7) … I thought yesterday’s “whoosh” loss was a bit overkill, expected a little bounce back.
09/16: 305.4 lbs (+0.1) … Holding steady at 305ish is better than doing it at 307-308!
09/17: 303.2 lbs (-2.2) … Nice! Another new low. I had a houseguest this weekend and really pushed myself to not let that be an excuse to eat poorly. I guess that paid off! Completed Couch to 5k Week 5 Day 2 this morning.

Ugh. I can’t seem to control myself. Worse, it seems I’m indulging in willful self-sabotage. What’s up with that? And I’ve missed my walks as I paint the house. It burns calories but it’s not the same. Sigh.
09/11 - 163.6
I did better yesterday with snacking (as in, I didn’t), but a friend gave me a gorgeous eggplant, so eggplant parmigiana for dinner. Yummy, but cheesy and therefore salty and caloric. Salads today! I also want to say that, though I haven’t been responding much as I scurry off to paint my house happy colors, I do read through everyone’s posts. Thank you for the inspiration and sense of community. You 10-day challenge people are the best.
09/12 - 163
Okie dokie.
09/13 - 163
I haven't yet conquered my late-night snacking impulse. Aaack. I didn't do this for years, but have gotten back in the bad habit. I will try to get past this one night at a time. I'd knit in front of the tv but am sure my kitten would want to help! Maybe I can just sit on my hands. I'm thinking of giving intermittent fasting a try -- stop eating at 6 or so until breakfast. Who here is or has done this, and what do/did you think of the results?
09/14 - 163
09/15 - 163
Still painting the house, room by room.... Yesterday I painted the walk-in closet in my office/studio a gorgeous tangerine. I’m half tempted to move a desk in there and make it my writing closet! This afternoon I plan to start on the actual room — a gorgeous violet. Whee! I love color! Enjoy your day, everyone!
09/16 - 165.2
AAAAACCCCKKKKKKK! What? Has to be salt, though I’ve no idea from where the past few days. Harrumph!
09/17 - 164
Hmmm. Okay, I guess. I am eating smarter, so I think my fat cells are just desperate to hang on. I do want to finish DH this round lower than I started, so planning a good day. Hope you all have a lovely day as well.

09/10 - 227 - I have no words this morning. I know things take a couple of days, so I hope that my exercise and clean eating will be reflected as much as the poor choices have been these past few days.
09/11 - 226.2 - Meh...I'm not mad at the number going down.
09/12 - 222.8 - Whoosh! I think it was my TOM and the cravings and weight reflected that. Also, I got an amazing full body dumbbell workout in (NTC App) and started walking at lunch again (just 20 mins)
09/13 - 222.4 - Had a great evening yesterday. I went to the gym for Zumba Strong. I couldn't do all of the push up and plank exercises due to my rotator cuff, but I got a great workout in. Between Wednesday and yesterday I have a bit of soreness and I honestly missed this feeling. My goal for the next couple of days is to control myself over the weekend.
09/14 - DNW
09/15 - 222.6 - I'm good with this considering I usually gain during the weekend. Did 1 hour Zumba today.
09/16 - 222.2 - at point I'm ready to see the underside of 222.
09/17 - 223 - lol. I'm attributing this to sodium intake yesterday. Plus I've started using weights again. That combo will make me retain water. Upping my h2o intake today to see what happens. On a positive note I've exercised twice this week!

9/10 179.5 (-2.5) Very excited about this number!!! I guess increasing the calories burnt is paying off @anlaing016.
9/11 179 (.5) It appears that working out more is helping with the scale. I’ve added cardio to my weekly workouts and I’m starting to see a difference. I hope my energy levels can stay up and can keep it up.
9/12 178 (-1) The extra workouts are definitely paying off, weight is coming off and my clothes fit better.
9/13 177 (-1) Happy that it’s finally Friday, busy weekend ahead. Hopefully I can stay on track with the meals and workouts.
9/14 178.5 +1.5 Had 2 pieces of pizza and an açaí bowl yesterday so the number on the scale was no surprise. Woke up early today to get my cardio in just in case we don’t have time to go to the gym @anlaing016
9/15 177.5 (-1.0) Had a cheat DAY yesterday but went beast mode at the gym with my accountability partner. Feeling very tired, listening to my body and resting today.
9/16 179.5 +2 The weekend won!!!! Woke up early to hit the gym and I’m back on track.
9/17 178 (-1.5) Today is going to be a good day, scale was nice to me.

09/10: 136.8, have dinner with a friend tonight and a tennis lesson so hopefully the additional exercise of a lesson will combat some of the eating out aspect of the day.
09/11: 136.6, woke up with a dry throat so have a feeling I picked something up from my niece when I babysat her. Today have a family members birthday dinner out at a restaurant I really love, but might just go with soup to better my odds of getting well. Officially have a 25.9 BMI so only .9 to healthy. I started in the 32s I believe so what a difference 10 months is.
09/12:136.1, officially have a cold so didn’t go to the gym yesterday and won’t go today either. Going to sleep today to try to kick this as fast as I can
09/13: 135.9, so sick of being in bed but feel better than yesterday so I think it’s working. I have a concert on Sunday that I really hope I’m going to be ok for!
09/14: 135.7, I’m still not 100%, but hope to go back to working out a bit tomorrow or Monday
09/15: 135.7, feel much better today, but woke up very thirsty so will prioritIze water today. It’s been very warm here so might try to get some of the liquid in with popsicles for my throat at well.
09/16: 135.4, went to a concert yesterday and ate and drank more than usual, which is usually seen in 2-3 days on the scale. Hoping to be really tight on my food consumption the next 4 days to combat it.
09/17: 135.7, good day yesterday, but still haven’t gone back to exercising after being sick. I hope to be back at the gym by Wednesday. I also need to drink more water. Hoping to stay below 136 for the rest of the round.

09/10 194.6 (-0.2) not s great food day. Didn't measure or weigh my food and ended up eating crackers and cheese and meat sticks for dinner. Felt really off in general and unmotivated. Didn't do my workout. Trying to get back into routine tomorrow.
09/11 191.6 (-3.0) ok wow! That's quite a woosh! Got back to my workout program yesterday and food was a little on the low side. I've been drinking a tonne of water (like 150 oz.?) But I feel dehydrated this am. Strange. I was feeling kind of bloaty and puffy this am so didn't expect the drop but I'm glad because I was starting to get nervous that this wasn't going to work for me. (I know CICO is science and thus works for everyone, but the time it takes to see the trend and the bouncing weight levels makes me think it's not working and then I get sloppy and then it really doesn't work. Lol)
09/12 193 (+1.4). Ugh always with the up and down! 18K steps and workout yesterday. Was super hungry so ate most of my exercise calories back.
09/13 192.4 (-0.6) wine and chips and dessert after dinner last night. Still a small deficit but not much of one. Back to healthier choices today.
09/14 193.8 (1.4) ok I keep saying I'm going to clean up my food but then I just.... don't? And then complain when I don't lose? Lol. Last night wad wings, poutine, wine, chips. I DID do my workout though so there's that.
09/15 194 (+0.2)
09/16 196 (+2) went to dr prescribed metabolic clinic today (aka fat camp for grownups). Found out my bf% is 42% !! Clinic is not private but government run by doctors with specialized degrees in nutrition and obesity science. Focus seems to be on hormones that are responsible for fat storage (insulin and cortisol ) and using plans that regulate those levels and encourage fat loss. Interestingly, when I asked about CICO, the response was that it's a bit of an outdated approach and neglects the factors that complicate weight loss. (My wording) I pointed out that eating to their plan would by nature put a person with a calorie limit so it would still fit CiCO but essentially it's the same thing I always think which is that while weight loss is the simple CICO formula, nutrition and body biochemistry (?) is not so simple and what we eat and the macros therein affect us in many ways. And thus adjusting those levels can contribute to function and health (and weight loss) in many ways. Soap box rant over. I'm going to follow their plan since it's fairly close to my current approach anyhow and it gives me free access to fancy measurement metrics every two weeks and I'm a data nerd.
09/17 194.6 (-1.4) hoping I can drop some of this water weight over the next few days. Got back into my workout routine so feel good about that.

Stats: 1374 Calories In / 2708 Calories burned. 32 Net Carbs. 17,074 Total Steps & 7.22 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 20 minutes. I took a neighborhood walk for 58 minutes and burned 342 extra calories. Cabin cleaning today.
09/16 …..191.0 ….. Best low weight in a while! So happy. I worked hard for this yesterday. Yesterday’s stats: 1022 Calories In / 3136 Calories Out. 14 Net Carbs. 22,193 Total Steps & 9.39 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 3 hours & 18 minutes. I moderately walked for 68 minutes, I did low-impact aerobics for 16 minutes & I danced for 17 minutes. Sample song “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns & Roses Total extra calorie burn was 625 calories. I also cleaned cabins & did cabin laundry which was part of my overall calorie burn. I’m elated today.
09/17 …..190.6 ….. I am so glad to see another small drop. Calories were extra low yesterday but carbs on the higher side of my plan due to cabbage roll (rice & tomato sauce) and a wrap I usually don’t use. However, numbers were otherwise very good which I worked very hard to achieve. Yesterday’s stats: 976 Calories In / 3011 Calories Out. 49 Net Carbs. 19,047 Total Steps & 8.06 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 43 minutes. I rigorously cleaned cabins for 95 minutes, cleaned my house & yard with light effort for 46 minutes and I walked for 59 minutes at a pretty fast pace. Total extra calorie burn was 1048. I am working hard before my upcoming travels to minimize damage if that is even possible!

09/10: 205.3 I had a high sodium day yesterday so expected! I'm hoping for a substantial drop in the next couple of days.
09/11: 203.3 HAAAA! I knew it! Stupid water weight skewing my goal last round. Oh well, I'm going to KILL IT this round!
09/12: 203.4 Well, I ate pizza for lunch and dinner yesterday sooooo I'll take it! LOL oops.
09/13: 203.4 I'm not doing too great with staying within my sodium goals but I'm definitely staying within my calories sooo whatever! It'll come off. In the meantime, I need to work on not consuming so much sodium!
09/14: 203 Yay! I went to the gym for the first time in 3 years last night! I'm super unfit so I just went on the treadmill for half another and did some of the circuit buuut I WENT! 😁 I'd like to drop another 0.5-1lb this round.
09/15: 202.9 I'm not obese anymore!! Just severely overweight 😂💪 Not sure how this happened lol. I didn't go over maintenance calories but definitely consumed a lot of sodium! I think I'm still retaining some water considering how tight my rings are today. Ate like crap today as well so I guess we will see what the scale says tomorrow lol.
09/16: 202.9 That could've been much worse! I had a really bad food day yesterday and went waaay over on my sodium. However, I did stay within my maintenance calories soooo should be fine. I did get lots of steps in though. Back on track today and heading to the gym once my son is in bed!
09/17: 202.9 LOL this has to be the last day of 202.9. Can I get a 202.8?! lolol. Anyway, I said no to some baked goods coming around the office this morning.

SW 09/09 204.0
GW 09/19 202.0
This round might be tough. I am on my own for the next couple of weeks. In the past I have gone out and bought a big bag of “junk” and perched on the couch reading books and watching TV. This time...I already have several meals pre-cooked and fruit in the house. I also am planning to start back working out...nothing to strenuous but I have been fairly sedentary for the last two years after some health issues. It is time to no longer use that excuse to sit on my butt so much!

This quote has been my driving force this month...
It is a shame for a woman to grow old without ever seeing the strength and beauty of which her body is capable. - Author Unknown
I don't want to live whatever time I have left on this earth not having experienced what I am capable of doing. I don't want to make the excuses..."I am too old"..."I am not healthy enough"..."I am too fat"..."I am not smart enough"...etc...etc. There might be valid reasons why I can't do something but there should never be excuses...only choices.

09/10 -200lbs- I am ordering my new scale today so I can monitor my weight better. Got my walk in early this morning because it is going to be 95 degrees here today and it doesn't cool down until after dark. I am not generally a morning person but I have to admit that the slight crispness in the early morning air is very nice!
09/11 -199lbs- Walk was a bit slower today. I am counting this as a rest day. Calorie intake and logging was good yesterday. I am thinking about joining a gym because winter will be here eventually and while I love my walks I hate being cold!
09/12 -199lbs- My new scales should be here today! I felt really shaky yesterday. Don't know why. I did make sure I ate back some of my exercise calories and nutrition looked pretty good...I do feel better today and had a great walk this morning. I am worth this effort and so are YOU!
09/13 -197.1lbs- Thank you, new digital scales for that drop! HaHa! I still want to lose another pound during this challenge. I feel good today except I have about a hundred things that need to be done and I need to stay on top of healthy meal planning!
09/14 -195.3lbs- I hope this is not my new scales malfunctioning! Then again, I spent the month of August with the scale not moving AT ALL so I will take this. I plan on just leisurely walking this weekend and eating small portions if we go out...just relaxing a bit for the weekend.
09/15 -195lbs- Went over a bit on calories because of no exercise. Planning on resting again today.
09/16 -194.8lbs- Back at it today! Got my walk in and ready to do some meal planning for this week.
09/17 -194.5lbs- Walked slower today to rest my knee. I am going to alternate fast and slow days.

After reaching a 75lb loss, personal and family stressors became way too exhausting back in June and I practically LEAPED off the wagon. Sad to say, but comfort food was my only solace w/ all my time and energy dedicated to everyone other than myself. After a summer of very little exercise and LOTS and lots of carb and sugar consumption for sanity's sake, I've regained 19 pounds ... all in my midsection, hips and thighs of course .... uggghhh.
09/13 - 217.8 That's exciting!
